    Fantastic video! Kids enjoyed watching. "They look familiar" they said, until I explained. Keep going team!

    Just a quick note that we overlooked adding in the vid and that is a NPWS general parks permit is required to access Sandon Beach. No council permit is required. Cheers. Alex.

    Another great video bro I just had to subscribe, not many vans on the tube in Oz less that are 4x4 and can give excellent commentary like you. are you planning a trip to Fraser or coffin bay in SA, would be great to see a van there, make sure you film some of them hard core 4x4 guys and their faces, maybe an interview would make great upload

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mick. Your a legend. We are trying our best and about to get back into it after a break due to Covid and travel restrictions. Definitely got Fraser and coffin bay on the cards. We have kept up info on Insta so be sure to check that out. We do get funny looks when we lob up to 4x4 locations but that’s half the fun. Getting there and testing the limits of the van for ourselves and other. Thanks again. You have just inspired us to get back on the tools. Cheers. Alex and Olga.

    Have you any experience or thoughts on the new VW Crafter LWB 4Motion. I have owned a number of VW cars over the years (including 4 with 4Motion), but never a van. Am tossing up whether to go with the Crafter or a Mercedes Sprinter 4WD as the base for a camper van.

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we have. We had one on loan at a driver training event and they are great. In fact the one we had included a snorkel and seikel suspension lift. Great fitout. Great all round van for touring for sure. Not to say the sprinter ain’t good but it’s just bigger is all. Hope this helps. Have a good one. Cheers. Alex.

      @@4motionadventures934 The 3 litre V6 in the Sprinter is very appealing, but the Crafter has a mechanical rear diff lock which, to me at least, is a big plus for the Crafter. Also I have never owned a Mercedes, but have had 8 VW's, and have had a good run out of all of them. If only the Crafter had the 3 litre V6 out of the Amarok it would be a total no brainer

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unpluggedkiwi2699 we love the rear diff lock in our van. It makes all the difference no doubt at all. Sounds to me like your a VW person to us. Go with your heart mate. Happy travels. Cheers. Alex.

      Really enjoying your travels around this great land of ours. Terrific tips to be had in all your vids. 👍
      Noticed the roof racks... would really appreciate some details... Brand? Capacity? Cheers to you both. 😀

      @@kurtpetersen9105 thanks Kurt. We are loving the travels too. The racks are rola racks. Got them supplied and installed by Trakka. Not sure of the load rating. I do believe either way the Trakkadu pop top has a load rating of 40kg and our skis we carry are about 27kg together. Hope this helps.

    Great video! I have a 4motion t6 and I'm starting to think about doing some beach driving. would you say that I would be fine with standard suspension and larger tyres, or would you say that a lift kit is a must? have you taken your van on to Fraser Island? Thanks in advance :)

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Andrew. Thanks for your comment and kind words. We have not driven in Fraser with the van yet however I know the place well having driven there many times in my larger 76 series. I think having larger wheels will make a difference and that a lift kit may not needed albeit a lift kit would of course give you that little extra bit of clearance you but if you are just cruising up the east coast and maybe to lake McKenzie and central station I reckon you will be sweat. Just remember to switch off your traction control system every time you start up and of course drip your pressures. On Fraser I would recommend about 25psi along the coast and maybe 20psi insland. Of course things change all the time but that would be my starting point. Oh and with the inland track just be careful of how deep the ruts get cause they can get pretty deep with traffic. Most of the issues will be negotiating with on coming traffic in that they will need to go around you rather than you try and climb the banks or get out of the wheel tracks. Hope all this helps. Safe travels. Cheers. Alex.

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Richard. Thanks mate. Appreciate your kind words. We run the 225/65 R 17 Kumho Roadventure AT51 and this will squeeze into the standard spare wheel carrier as well. Great tyre so far. Highly recommend them. They also appear to satisfy the load and speed rating which is of course important. Cheers. Alex.

    Just to act like a hair-splitter. ;-)
    If you get stuck, isn´t the best way to drive out the same direction you came when you got stucked?
    That´s the way I do if I get stucked in the snow.

      Thanks Stein Not always Sometimes in my experience it’s best to go forward but of course in others it’s best to go back over the path already driven
      Thanks again for your constructive feedback Always appreciated
