2 years on and videos like this still make my heart skip a beat. This is definitely a snap shot in history. It’s something that people will cover in history lessons. It was the time the world essentially collectively stood still. I’m classed as extremely clinically vulnerable so I was shielding. Apart from the view from my window and the news Coverage, I didn’t get to see what the world really looked like outside of my little bungalow out in the sticks of Lincolnshire.
This is incredible Julian. Coupled with the choice of Music gives a hauntingly spiritual feel to the video. You’ve captured something that may never be witnessed again. Good job ☺️
I'm speechless and open jawed- I've walked those streets for thirty years trying to avoid bumping in to people so much so I never really noticed how amazing beautiful the builds are!! great video and amazing city of London, I Love you
Awesome job of my home town.... good to see from many miles away. you couldn't pay enough to get the streets empty to shoot a few years back, now you could shoot the aftermath of an apocalypse on a Sunday morning at 5am :D
On a smaller scale, I had a drive around my local town centre in April 2020 on a Saturday night and everywhere, except a corner shop, was closed. I saw no one on the streets and it was weird to say the least.
Very well shot film. I guess most of the streets you filmed would have started to get a little busier from 8am onwards which is when you stopped filming. However, it will still have been relatively less busy than on non lockdown times.
This is so weird for me to say this as we are nearly approaching 4 years, as I know people have lost someone but for me who hasn't , lockdown one was one of happiest period of my life (especially when furlough was announced and approved by my employer ). I was gyming , baking , gaming (war zone) with the mrs, using house party and teams to day connected with friends and family had a proper daily routine and got so much done around the flat , sure it was was frustrating in the beginning lining for hours in line at Sainsbury's etc just to do a quick shop. Even looking forward until Thursdays at 8pm for the NHS claps truly nostalgic for me.

Hey dude! I am doing a project for University on Lockdown and how it has impacted students across the UK. I was wondering if it was possible to use some of these clips as archive footage within my project. Obviously you will be credited and watermarked in the bottom. It's only being handed into my professor anyway, so its completed 0 profit use. I know I could have just downloaded it and used it in secret, but I just wanted to ask you to make sure! I love the shots so much.
Wow this is crazy to see, its almost like what it would be without humans on this planet anymore. Be great to do something like this where I live in Perth, Western Australia but theres no real difference as theres still cars on the road and people getting out as we are not on lock down here.

Thanks! I was riding a bike so it would have been classed as exercise. But filming is also our job, so it can also be classed as work. Just make sure you stay away from other people, it got a lot busier since I filmed this (so I hear). - Julian

Absolutely. Around 8am there were a few runners, a handful of commuters, and a number of empty busses. Still very different to regular times.
