The west does not exist. The West in relation to what? to where?
The West is basically a nebulous construction by nature in opposition to what we call the East and the Middle East.
directions exist such as east - west - north - south. There are geographic regions such as the global north and the global south (not so hard to define its limitations).
The West? The other name for the USA (and assimilated, which we also call its allies. Except that they have no allies. There are the USA and the satellite countries which are aligned more or less perfectly on their line political (India, Japan, France, west of what? Australia, South Korea, Morocco, Argentina, Colombia, or even Kenya?)).
There is quite a long list of countries which fear the wrath of the USA and the negative repercussions on their economy and which therefore obey the finger and the eye. Some even love being good dogs and will go even beyond what's expected of them, out of pure conviction. And more often than not those kinda leaders will clash with the population shamelessly stomping on the essence of democracy. West is not a thing. Usa and its followers, is.
They were never about humanity.
It's a race. It's about trade and free and undistorted competition.
It's not about people. It's about money. It's about power.
