My great great great grandmother was Comanche. She was stolen from her family, at the age 14, and given the name Teresa. I take a lot of pride in my ancestry. I remember when I turned 14, and thought of how life must have been for her. She was a child, who was forced to live with a white man and have his children. I thank her for my black hair, brown eyes, and not having to shave my legs very often :) My red headed daughter knows her story as well.
I'm Irish Scotish and Camanche my great great grandmother was full blooded I'm proud to be her great great granddaughter and proud to have my heritage love all my brothers and sisters.

Why do native people always blame the white man first? It was the Spanish Catholics who invaded the Americas first posing as Christianity The Spanish incited the tribal wars between the natives. Was the Spanish Catholics who gave the natives infected blankets with the small pox virus that almost wiped the native people out.. it was later the white man came to the Americas.. Bringing their flase teachings of religion posing as Christians. It was the Catholic Church who built residential homes and forcefully took the children from their families and placed the children in residential homes where they were systematically sexually physically abused by the Catholic nuns and priests. They cut the hair of the children to make them forget their culture. Thousands of indigenous people converted to Catholicism so their children would not be taken away from them and put into residential homes or given to white families.. I find this history absolutely sickening what the Native Americans went through. It saddens me so much when I read about their history.. 😪😥 Catholicism isn't a European religion it is a Roman religion. Millions of innocent Jews Christians Muslims perished under Rome all over Europe and across globe because they would not convert to Catholicism or read or owned a Bible. They were burned flayed tortured crusified... Europe is just another roman province.. And the Europeans that have not read their history cannot see... Europe is controlled the roman empire the vatican behind the sences. . People who are not well read on this subject don't know what goes on behind the sences in political power.
They also were the most warlike tribe in the USA and even in Mexico. Even the Apache feared them. Today they are one of the best adapted and most successful tribes in America.
I have walked the divide my entire life. I already knew I was a quarter Cherokee from my father, he grew up in the northern area of Kentucky part of their original territory. But through doing my geneology with my aunt, I discovered my Grandmother was Comanche. She was adopted by a white family though, and took me years to track it. I now know I'm half native. Though half white I've always felt connected to my native heritage. This is beautiful and made me cry. I love the book Ride the Wind!
Thanks for this Helen! I can trace my roots back to Quanah Parker, and his mother,Cynthia..My father's mother was a Parker and he named me in honor of her.He is gone now,and buried in our family cemetery, called Parker Cemetery in Houston County,Texas. We have a Texas State Historical Marker on the grounds, many graves dating back to 1800's. A real honor to be related to such people!!! I am proud of my heritage! P.S. You posted 2 days after my dear departed father's birthday!!

The Comanche were great horsemen and fierce warriors. Considered the greatest warriors of the indian tribes, they were pitted against Ganghus Kahn -the mongol rulers in the tv show "Deadliest Warrior". The skilled Comanches prevail. In another season the Apache defeat the Gladiator. The skill of the american native was unmatched but they were more than just fighters. They had a great way of life. There is an excellent book about the Comanches and Quanah Parker. Empire of the Summer Moon. It is a history book that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. The Comanches were at one time, using our moral standards, not nice people. They, with the introduction of the horse into their culture, became warriors whose main means of support was war. War against the Spanish, the Mexicans, and the US settlers who provided them with horses and goods. The longest war in US history was fought against the Comanches. A typical Comanche raid on a settlement, outpost, or Indian village would end with every inhabitant dead - raped, mutilated, and horribly tortured (for entertainment). Some white inhabitants would carried off to be sold back to traders who sold them back to their families. Some, the very young, were carried off and incorporated into the band (Quanah Parker's mother for example). Some were carried off to be slaves. Older captives were horribly treated. The older women were ganged raped over and over. Their children would be murdered and tortured in front of them. Comanche women participated in these raids. Raping, torturing and murdering was part of their culture, no matter if it was Americans, Mexicans, Spanish or other Indian tribes. The Comanches killed more Mexicans than they did Americans. The Comanches were feared throughout their lands by everyone including other Indian tribes. Comanches, in the 1800s, were the best horsemen on the planet. People make a big mistake in thinking that all Indians are the same. They are not. Not even all Comanches were the same. They were a very diverse group because they captured young children (Mexican, white, and other Indians) and made them part of their groups. Quanah Parker's mother was captured when she was 9 after almost every member of her family was slaughtered in a raid and married a Comanche chief. People make a big mistake in thinking that what they see in the movies about Indians is true. Every tribe is different. People are wrong in thinking that Comanches in the 1800s, went to war for revenge on the white people for 'stealing their land'. They were already continuously at war with most other plains tribes who greatly feared them. They were at war with the Spanish, before they left, and the Mexicans. There was very little revenge involved. Comanche went to war for profit - horses, slaves, people and goods that could be traded. Only thing that stopped them was the annihilation of the buffalo and deadly diseases like smallpox and cholera that killed over 50% of them and other plains tribe members. Please read the book. It is excellent. Also read The Searchers. It is the story of Cynthia Ann Parker, her son, and the making of the movie, The Searchers, which some consider one of best movies ever made.
From what I wad told as a little boy, my grandmother was related to Q.Parker. My grandfather was mixed with Seminole,Choctaw,Cherokee,Canjun, Creole, and Black. A Native friend of mine says that I am part of All. To look at me I am Black, but my spirit is of MAN...

Does it make anyone else furious that our national parks and wild places are now theme parks people have to pay to get into? Do you know that our government makes about a billion dollars a year from fees to get into national parks? Our people, our blood line, walked those hills, mountains, and streams as wild as the grizzly, the wolf, and the panther. But, now even we have difficulty being allowed in to these places without paying a price. Didn't our people already pay a price?

I love and fancy native American men are the most beautiful in the world.... How could anyone want to harm them ❤️ ❤️😪😢 I wish there were men like this in my country ❤️❤️
@luckyshame420 those men were a long time ago. the greatest challenge today is to let it go, and to teach many others what is our traditions and what is the way of our people. if you do not want us to go extinct then please share your wisdom, stories, and more importantly, your language. our people musn't go extinct without knowing anything..

In my opinion the Sioux were the Comanche of the northern plains. I say this because the Comanche were the first to adopt a plains horse culture and this culture went northwards to the Sioux later on. The Comanche were the first conquerors of the plains.

The Comanches surrendered in the 1870s and the Apaches surrendered completely in the 1880s. The Apaches were the last tribe to surrender not the Comanches.
I just finished S.C. Gwynne's book Empire of the Summer Moon. An incredible story of the Comanche. I empathize with everyone from that time, the Cherokees to the Makahs in the NW. Even the people of "Kennewick Man"... Were they Eastern Euros? Who knows but they were slaughtered as well by someone. If you go to Europe you will hear similar stories of invasion and conquest there as well. It's the horrible legacy of humanity.
@wolfthatlimps I try to not be bitter. I have family on the Rosebud Reservation. But, I to feel the outrage of a people whose ways and sacred traditions were scoffed at, ridiculed and degraded. Today the blacks, the jews, the latinos, all these other "minorities" scream about how they're treated, but as usual the native people are completely forgotten and ignored. It's like we're just a part of the landscape of this country which is also forgotten and abused.
From what movie these scenes are from? The cool is who you in usa has the same kind of vegetation than we here in brazil, the hills, the trees, the bushes, the grass, its everything so similar who i get scared.

Beautiful people and powerful culture. The music is amazing. I love to find the strength to be like a native American worrier to live through these hard times of covid 19. To be come carer to look after elderly. To give them hope and a reason to smile
Native Americans were slave owners and slave traders. There's nothing of "the face of the Great Spirit" in their culture...no more than in other cultures. Stop fantasizing about a supposed "mystic spiritual" time simply because of the music and images in this video.
It wasn't a time that you think it was !!
This is a GREAT video...thank you for contacting me...and for sharing..eternal blessings...
The way our world is going the day may be up on the Native American to live the way there ancestors lived.Might be up on all Americans.I hope the Natives have not forgotten what the old ones taught.
great video and outstanding horserideing brillant xx😊😊😊🐴🐴
Back in the sixties,eL BJ,and the US Army decided to steal some moire Comanche land. So,Kwana's Star house was on the Falcon range. They picked up the house and abandoned it on the road...One of my Great Aunts(They're all Great!) sold it to Herbert for$150 and he moved it to Eagle Park/Cache,OK
I thank my name to them. I feel blessed for wearing it and I would love to meet these people and learn from them

Love this and the beautiful music !! Thanks😊
Thanks. It was a wonderful presentation.
To many from all tribes are giving up their language, so sad hurts my heart.
You did an amazing job !!!
Quanah Parker was amazing. I would love to have met him.

Thank you for posting this very interesting I am relation to Quana Parker having done my family geneology so very familular with the story the truth,,thanks again
In my opinion the Sioux were the Comanche of the northern plains. I say this because the Comanche were the first to adopt a plains horse culture and this culture went northwards to the Sioux later on. The Comanche were the first conquerors of the plains.
wow love this music. another fab one...xx
Beautiful video. Well done. USA - Tennessee

@@rodolfogarcia1294 don't forget the Spanish massacred hundreds of millions of these indigenous natives and converted them to their religion Catholicism and breed with them till they were no more pure blood

They weren't tall, but fierce and brave protecting what was theirs.
thank you very much
@AyameO843 you always feel what is in your spirit christian is not for you but your roots is the NA side, all we can do is follow what we feel strong in our spirit most people cannot connect with their spirit but a lot of us can , i may be white on the outside but my spirit remembers a different time the old time,
@mogges1 most have im afraid, but that's why all people have to learn to live like the old ways as we may all end up back that way.
ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME.
@luckyshame420 Thanks Stands Tall, i cant disagree with any of what you say, all i can say is i love Native American people the past and the new, though its sad the old ways are fading away, im not sure how i do in all my videos but to me it feels right how i make them, most beautiful people, all handsome men and beautiful woman and children, closer to nature and earth & animals, religion is controll connection is truth

Cool,if you ever decide to come,I can show you where Kwana(Quannah) and Geronimo are interred!
The Comanches surrendered in the 1870s and the Apaches surrendered completely in the 1880s. The Apaches were the last tribe to surrender not the Comanches.
Alex Bennett The Chiricahua were formidable especially with leaders like Geronimo
Hey,ever been in Quitaque,Texas without a paddle?
@b2bears1 i am very happy to hear this news, November my birthday good month, i try to make people aware in some of my videos,
This video and song is well done. I am not familiar with the clips of the movie. I would like to know and I would watch for it.
Beautiful video
I MISS MY GRETA OF THE COMANCHE
I just finished S.C. Gwynne's book Empire of the Summer Moon. An incredible story of the Comanche. I empathize with everyone from that time, the Cherokees to the Makahs in the NW. Even the people of "Kennewick Man"... Were they Eastern Euros? Who knows but they were slaughtered as well by someone. If you go to Europe you will hear similar stories of invasion and conquest there as well. It's the horrible legacy of humanity.
You might enjoy “The Captured”.
lovely vidio !!!, thankn you for vidio !!! :-)
DES GENS COURAGEUX 🌋🌋
@wolfthatlimps I try to not be bitter. I have family on the Rosebud Reservation. But, I to feel the outrage of a people whose ways and sacred traditions were scoffed at, ridiculed and degraded. Today the blacks, the jews, the latinos, all these other "minorities" scream about how they're treated, but as usual the native people are completely forgotten and ignored. It's like we're just a part of the landscape of this country which is also forgotten and abused.
Did you make the music yourself? Nice job, if so
@skinmomz88 your welcome glad you found it interesting :)
From what movie these scenes are from?
The cool is who you in usa has the same kind of vegetation than we here in brazil, the hills, the trees, the bushes, the grass, its everything so similar who i get scared.
