The best part of this manga is discuss who will win before the fight, because when you think this guy can win, but sometimes the outcome is opposite. This is why I would never get bored when reading it
What i likr about kengan ashura most of the fights are not one sided hell even fking imai cosmo put up a good fight against ohma

I think people low ball Raian pretty hard. He definitively was stronger than Ohma even not using his techniques and just brute forcing. If Raian ever decided to use his full power he should be like 3/4 easily.

This tournament will surely be a wakeup call for Raian. He is surely stromg but his cockiness was his own undoing. Hopefully we'll a newer version of Raian in Kangen Omega
You all forget that its stated that Raian knows all the secret techniques of the Kure style. He chooses not to use them
Kiryu's story will forever hold a special place in my heart. Because what he experienced as a child would eventually manifest into something truly sorrowful. Malnourished, critically abused by both of his parents, treated more like an object than a sentient being. Left without a understanding of what love is, his world was encompassed with pain, driven by rage, and limited to a pitiful cage. So once he was finally shown the slightest bit of affection it would most likely have a significantly monumental impact unlike anything before. This slight glimpse of affection came in the form of a little boy, incensed with rage, but was utilized to protect him. He was so moved that he took this person to be that of a deity, because that is the only sign of love which an almighty essence had ever depicted to him. Therefore it had to of been a greater sign, a sign of a higher power at work, something must of actually been looking down upon him and came in this form to save him out of love. He would proceed to make it his life's mission to find his savior. Because he had never experienced the affection of neither a man nor a woman until that very instance with his savior, his mind subconsciously developed feelings for men. So in adolescence he would sell his body, in hopes to gain information, he settled down with one of the buyers all so he could eventually get closer to his savior. When he first met his God he displayed the perfect balance between care and rage. The rage he had while protecting him showed just how much he cared for Kiryu's life. It would leave an everlasting remnant of earnest adorn, for such kindness was presented in such a profound manner, for all the pain Kiryu had endured from these people... they genuinely deserved to be savagely slaughtered. And in this dire moment of need, someone finally came and relieved Kiryu of his oppressors in the most beautiful exhibition. His buyer would be only the second being in his life to display true affection, this moved Kiryu enough to fall in love with him. But still with a set goal to ultimately find his savior; Kiryu knew that it was all a means to an end, for his first love would be his only true love. Everyone else were just expendable assets to help him gravitate closer to his God. Once he found him, it was in an obscure state unbeknownst to Kiryu, furthermore his savior was being treated as a commonality. So therefore, that person evidently didn't see the same worth in him as he did. This infuriated Kiryu because of this demeaning behavior and that his God wasn't doing anything about it, in the Godlike manner that was all powerful. So he relentlessly trained in hopes to eliminate this degenerate from his God's life. After a series of battles, he finally got his wish, though it wasn't specifically by him physically, it still got the job done. Then he and his God had to part ways, but Kiryu never stopped thinking about him, and his ultimate dream to die by his God's hand. He found life to be so insufficient that the greatest joy he could obtain from it, was if he were to be brutally beat to death from the one he loved the most. Pain was transformed to be a predominent proprietor of sweet jubilance to Kiryu. Because for most of his life it was all he knew so he subconsciously molded it to be a form of elation. And when his life had finally reached its climactic stage, where he could make his dream finally come true, what he so wanted, abandoned him. Leaving him with nothing... In the end Kiryu was a victim to his own life and mind, the traumatic experiences he withheld took exceptionally detrimental tolls to his psyche, gravely effecting his perception of reality because of the multitude of unattended mental Illnesses. I do not believe he's ever found true peace. I've dealt with mental Illnesses myself, I know what they can do, and I also haven't found true peace or true happiness. That's why I can't help but feel considerable anguish when I see or think about him. Because I witness a reflection of myself within Kiryu, hopefully one day we can both find true peace and true happiness.

One thing i really enjoyed about this manga is that you never know what’s going to happen next, so it always keeps u hooked. And also this manga throws ALL the cliches right out the door. First of all, a grown adult as a protagonist who actually isn’t fighting for the power of friendship but rather for his own ambition. Also, he doesn’t always win, which is always refreshing to see
The fact that Gensai had the toughest opponents in the entire tournament and still won scares me. This man beat lihtio, Setsuna, Rei Mikasuchi, THE FANG HIMSELF, and Ohma the main character really says a lot about his strength and the kind of potential this man is capable of

The netflix teaser actually made me to start reading it and I'm confident it will get really popular with the anime(that's if it's good of course). Although it's cgi, I still think the animation looks awesome.

And also, I am pretty sure that it will become popular coz of it's content not only martial arts but comedy and some of the aspects of business and investment world.
And it's not shounen, every character is above 18 and it contains mature themes. Shounen has kids and teens as characters and is mainly aimed at those ages.

this manga is like baki, BUT BETTER.....more details, more back stories, more type of fighting styles
IRELIA MAIN Don’t know about more details. Baki’s artist is a way better illustrator, stories is not his strong point tho.
IRELIA MAIN Details for Baki is 11/10. Kengan is good on details too, but I have to give it a 8/10 because of heavy usage of action blur, smoke effects, and low detail zooming out. Story for Baki is 7/10 or lower with the latest chapters. Kengan definitely have a 9/10 in story. Fighting styles are tied in my opinion. Both shows demonstrates really cool fighting techniques (Cockroach dash, Xaio Li, Blast Core, Demonbane, removal, etc). Slight edge to Kegnan though because the top tiers in Baki usually use brute force with bits of techniques to win.

DGX37 the author says that their grappling is about even, and Okubo is physically stronger than Cosmo, so breaking out of his submissions would be a bit easier.
Ashura Cosmo is better than Okubo, they did a contest on who could land a submission chokehold first and Imai took the victory no problems.

jigenji1 The fang has a incomplete version of the Niko Style; so if The Fang of Metsudo and Tokita Ohma fight, then Tokita already has the advantage because Ohma has more experience with the Niko Style than the Fang does so therefore Ohma has ways to put him down. It would be a good fight bu if Ohma play his cards right then he can probably win but honestly it’s a debatable fight because you can argue that either one can win.

Setsuna is stronger than Rei. Rei is fast, but that's it. Kuroki took way more seriously when he fought Setsuna, in that fight he had to gamble with his arm in order to defeat Setsuna, while he was basically lecturing Rei in the 3rd round. Also I think Kanoh is stronger than Ohma, even when they are both fits.

You're right. Kanoh Agito is stronger than Ohma. The fight between Kuroki and Kanoh was on a different level than the rest of the fights in the tournament. Clearly Ohma could not compete in the final but he chose to fight till the end even it could cost his life by abusing his life energy.

See... I think the top 10 (really 5-8) can be flip flopped a lot.
Like, it's a rock paper scissors kinda thing. Because it was stated Wakatsuki has trouble with Sen Hatsumi because of his soft style techniques, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Julius would. Or that Gaolang would beat Sen. And maybe Gaolang would lose to Julius, because of all the ridiculous muscles. Also, Kaneda a lil high for me. If people aren't underestimating him, he's pretty weak.
But overall, solid list.

@@Diego-sx5om I agree with Akoya higher than Cosmo, even though he gets carried away. But I don’t think Gaolang would beat Raian. Raian is stronger and more durable. He also knows the Kure clan techniques. Kiryu is debatable, but I still think Raian is higher than both of them. Well maybe Gozo should be 23 or 24 but don’t underestimate him. He’s durable enough to tank Wakatsuki’s punches and he is extremely fast, faster than most below him. He could also destroy a bus. He may have a poor combat skills, even though some below him have poor combat skills as well.

@@Diego-sx5om I’m sure he’ll still beat Gaolang. Raian is comparable to Ohma in speed ( and could even catch Rei’s strike ), one of the physically strongest character and very durable. Sure that Gaolang knows Muai Thai and posses the fastest strikes, Raian has a better build and had shown to be capable of using some of his Kure clan techniques. With these, I think Raian would be higher than Gaolang.
Gozo would have a bit of an advantage over Karo. Karo is physically stronger, have some decent knowledge ( due to being a fisherman ) and probably just as durable. Although I don’t think he has enough experience or speed to beat Gozo. Honestly from 22-25 it’s really close, but still I see Gozo taking a w from Karo.

The most unpredicted person is kuroki, i don't know he's that strong st first sight, cuz his enemy is rihito, and i rlly shocked that he could beat the fang

I just started reading the manga two weeks ago and already finished it, i LOVE it, its been so long since i read anything martial arts related (last was ippo i think) but the characters are all so well written, their character and interactions are so enjoyable to watch, the tournament setting also really worked for the entire series, i wasn't really into it at first but once it reached the Kengan Tournamnet Arc damn what a ride, god i love this series

Actually Kanoh Agito is still stronger than Ohma Tokita, it just happened that Ohma came to the finals fighting with Kuroki Gensai, but if you check in the manga that Gensai almost broke his 2 arms fighting with Agito in the semi finals that takes almost an hour to defeat Kanoh Agito

@@ayukkelly1708 Not even close, Kanoh has Niko style mastered to a similar extent as Ohma albeit without the final techniques of the four katas or demonsbane, Pre-initiative, evolution, way better physical stats, training and mastery of multiple ordinary martial arts styles as well as near-mastery of formless. The author himself said that the chances of Kanoh winning against Kuroki were about 40%.
Thats not even pointing out the fact that Ohma struggled against Cosmo. When Cosmo was more injured than he was.
Now if you're talking Kengan Omega Ohma and Kanoh? Then you're absolutely right. Ohma went up against a guy who drawed against Kuroki and won with low diff. But even there Raian won like 6/10 of the spars he had with Ohma and Ed Wu stomped HIM into next week like five times so it's not like he's the strongest character there either.

Akoya, Saw & Seki have some of the best Defense on the whole Roster. What puts them above is a more versatile moveset, and more Attack power. It'd be hard fights tho.
Muteba is great, but he isn't beating anyone above him. He could maybe strategize something to beat Julius or Kiryu, but most scenarios he's lose.
I think muteba maybe beats Julius def bests Rei and maybe kiryu, hell maybe even the cloud ☁️

I honestly think Hatsumi in his "Top Condition" could beat Gaolang, but he's so inconsistent with his power level you never know lmao
I now you said this 1 month ago but Sen vs Gao is actually one of the most debated fight.
Imo I'd go with Gaolang, mostly because of how he fought and kinda almost rekted Kanoh ( if they have fought during the 1st round, gao would have won ). Still, it's really close.

I love this manga. I love the anime. And maybe I’m being a Hatsumi fanboy but my top five would be:
1. Kuroki
2. Agito (Give this guy another fight with the Beard and I guarantee he would evolve/surpass Kuroki)
3. Ohma (memory restored)
4. Hatsumi
5.Gaolang or Wakatsuki (this could go either way. Waka is tough but how many Flashes can he tank? Gaolang pushed the Fang beyond his limits and is arguably the best striker in the series and could take this if he dodged Blast Core.)
I put Hatsumi above those two because he’s the best dodger in the series and he’s beaten Wakatsuki in the past. Yes I know, the Tiger has gotten better and stronger since then but I’d imagine the floating cloud had too.
Hatsumi is only a beast when in good condition like if the guy was in a bad condition, even nezu would give him a tough fight
churro 2 agreed. But he didn’t appear to be in peak condition when he fought Ohma in the office and he was still dancing around his Advance form. And he still beat Waka in the past, id assume he could do it again. Everyone in the tournament saw Gaolang was a beast and of course knew about him from his career. Knowing that, I doubt Hatsumi would go into that fight jokingly

That was only because Wakatsuki didn't know or even know how to counter Demonsbane, other than that Ohma doesn't have anything that he can hurt Wakatsuki with. *NONE* of Ohma's attack even fazed him beside that technique. (Even Kuroki couldn't dodge it and had to sacrifice his arm.)
Wakatsuki was literally destroying Ohma from the start of the match to finish. Ohma didn't even believe he could beat him nor even believe he could pull Demonsbane off, till Kazou encouraged him on.

He was half-blind and had to use an unusual stance to compensate for his sight, which Ohma even stated he targeted him for, but it didn't work in his favor because Wakatsuki already adapted losing his sight against the match with Muteba.
Not to mention, he *NEVER* used his own secret technique "*Blast Core*", not a single time against Ohma because his ankle couldn't sustain the strain of it no more.
Damn this is one beautiful list. It’s really accurate. The manga’s pretty good, with a hefty mix of comedy, badassery, hype and interesting characters. You really don’t know who’ll win for each fight, and that’s why it’s so hype.

Yeah, from what we saw when he was regressing a bit his level was already vastly different (he would have won his fight easily if he started like this, the only reason he lost was that knee damage he took at the start of the fight) i hoped to see Haru prime in Omega since he started training but no luck.
the ending was amazing, i'm not that much of a emotional guy with endings but this one gived me a spark!

I feel like adam dudley gets no love, I dunno if I'm biased but he could beat Rihito easily, and I feel since he lost to a strong opponent he shouldn't be placed as low, but what ever :P
Both is brute force fighter but Rihito got that finger ability though, a skill where even Kuroki himself dodge instead of facing heads on.. a cheat type.ability that could injure Adam severely....so I think Adam.might not be able to win against Rihito.

Rihito doesnt have technique which is a bit a case for Adam.
But it's true that i see them pretty close with a edge for Adam. That could have give some gritty and one hell of a slug fest.
I think the weakest during the final phase were Robinson, and Rihito.
Adam can throw hard punches from any position so if rihito where to cut him adam could still punch him full strenght
Adam's punches were described as if you were hit by a "truck", just like what happened to Cosmo. He's definitely stronger than Rihito.
@@MisakaMikoto1069 As of Omega, it would be an interesting fight, as Adam has been working with Cosmo and his teacher for 2 years, while Rihito did some training under Kuroki and uses basic karate now mixed with his Razor's Edge, while also being able to read moves surprisingly well. I do agree that as of the Kengan Annihilation tournament, Rihito loses unless he gets an artery with Razor's Edge early in the match.

That's sort of a fair list, but I think you've put Hatsumi waaay too low. He's beat Wakatsuki already and Wakatsuki mentioned himself that he is likely to +lose to him again. Not to mention that Hatsumi lost to Agito only because his finger met a very thick layer of plot armor there. I personally think that only the Beard guys is superior to him in skill. And that's because he wasn't slacking in training. But Ohma with the mastered Advance Niko style is gonna crush the tier list.
You’re underestimating Hatsumi and Wakatsuki way too much. I’d put Wakatsuki in 3rd above Ohma and Move Hatsumi to 5th right below Ohma. Gaolang would loose against both Hatsumi and Wakatsuki

Ironically there isn't really a Muay Thai fighter in the tournament. Gaolang is more a boxer, I don't think he threw a kick through the entire first round.
@@Philweasel uhhh his history clearly states that he started Muay Thai first and he uses it later. Just because you don't use a certain fighting technique, it does not mean you aren't a practitioner of that respective art. Gaolang used his fists because its a very safe and effective choice. His flickers were insanely fast. Very little risk of being taken down and he keeps the enemy at bay. Didn't work with Agito, but thats probably why Gaolang chose to use boxing.

And though he knows Muay Thai, I don't think you can really call it his primary art considering his signature move and 80% of the techniques he uses are from boxing, and he rarely uses anything other than his fists.

I don't think Ohma is stronger than Agito though. Aside from Gensai obviously being the number 1, the following guys are really hard to rank: Agito (endless evolution), Ohmah (versatility of the Niko style), Raian (if he actually use his full arsenal of Kure techniques), Wakatsuki (Extremely high stats in both offense and defense combined with good skills). Most of the finalist were injured pretty badly when they fought one another, so we don't really get to see how they'd fare if they were at full strength.

Also IMO Prince Hassad is wayy higher, just above Sawada I reckon - just didn't show his full potential - & Hanafusa just below the Sumo (all the opponents above him now and below Kiozan he can defeat with his medical knowledge.

The top 10 was almost the same as mine. But , i'd change agito from place 3 to place 2. I believe he gave Gensai a harder time than Ohma did. He didn't do any major mistakes (like Ohma did when he tried to submit Gensai by submission) but was simple outfought by Gensai, who had to sacrifice an arm in order to get him to a position where he could fight him efficiently.
Honestly, I feel like Ohma might not be able to beat a lot of the people in top 6. I feel like it could go either way given that they were all pretty beat up by the end, but that's what I love about this manga, is that no one of these people (excluding the fang and beard guy in the top 6) feel super overpowered

While Muteba is cool, strong, and has a twisted sense of honor, I feel like Okuba is still stronger. For one, Okuba's mastery of grappling are enough that he can compete with Cosmo, and physically he's behind Agito but his fighting style more than makes up for it.
Cosmo would destroy Okubo in grappling. Okubo's an all-rounder while Cosmo's a grappling specialist.
Ken Reyes not destroy. Beat, yes. Without THAT much difficulty? Yes. But Okubo was sure he could beat Cosmo ina grapple fest while he was taking it easy and cosmo was injured, showing how although it’s true Okubo isn’t as good as Cosmo, he’s not bad and both are too tier, it’s just that Cosmo focuses entirely on it.
