In Canada it is a must to have an AWD Stinger. I had several high powered RWD cars and they are useless when it rained or snowed. Could not stand my ZL1 getting dusted by awd cars when it rained.
Ever since I started driving I have been going with AWD vehicles, I finally decided I wanted a nice change in pace and got the RWD stinger and I do not regret it. It's really fun to drive RWD and now I see why all my friends kept telling me get RWD it's way more fun. While AWD is a lot more practical where I am during the winter, that won't matter anytime soon cause I'm going to be moving to a state where that won't be an issue anymore! In the end BOTH drive systems are worth getting, it all comes down to personal preference in the end.
If you plan on adding HP through mods then the simple answer is AWD. It will more than offset the weight of the AWD system and allow you to smoke so many more vehicles that you wouldn't stand a chance against with RWD. My current best 0 to 60 with launch control is 3.6 seconds which is unattainable for the RWD version due to wheel spin unless you get some huge meats on the rear tires and even then not guaranteed. There is a mod to add a switch to disable the front wheels in the AWD stinger allowing you drift and do burnouts if you want. Not sure what it does for longevity of the transfer case bug lots of people have done it.
I totally agree, once you start adding basic mods to the rwd you need a pretty beefy tire setup to hook consistently at all. Racing from a dig with the rwd almost isn’t even worth trying unless the conditions are perfect. Awd almost completely eliminates this issue.
You beat me to it; if one is going to REALLY make this a go-getter, you can't beat AWD. I have a supercharged 93 Crown Vic with 547 rwhp (look at my videos and go back about 6 years) and as much as I enjoy driving it, it is designed for fun like burnouts and drifting. I am eyeing the Stinger with the intent of increasing the horsepower substantially after 2-4 years. AWD will grab the pavement similar to a Tesla Plaid. There is a reason why high torque, high acceleration vehicles are now more common in AWD versions than ever. The technology to get 500 hp out of a TT V6 is available for some extra coin and the next step is to get that hp to the asphalt.
Not trying to be that guy but I think the weight difference is closer to 200lbs. I could be wrong but I thought I saw that somewhere. The car was designed as rwd and awd was added after the fact. Read/watched reviews that say the steering is pretty different between the two. Not knocking awd cause they are definitely better for good launches. Always been a rwd guy so maybe I’m being a little bias here. I love my stinger and it’s always nice to see people enjoying theirs. Love the color of yours!!
I was just throwing a ballpark out there I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closer to 200 pounds, liking rwd cars is totally understandable, they have their place and I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve owned in the past
2 questions. 1. have you thought about increasing the hp/torque with ECU or any other tuning kit? 2. till date, what issues did this car start to spew out (if any)?
To answer your first question I am already tuned, I use a stage 1 Lap 3 ecu tune, and I’ve had a few issues, if you are interested I made a video on those
If you have snow or a lot of wet weather AWD is the way to got if you have more dry and rainy weather RWD is fine the Stinger is fun no matter what you get :) I know maybe a little too much fun in the wet Here in Australia with RWD but hay that is why I got a Stinger over anything else because it drives like a luxury car until you turn that dial if you know what I am saying :)
Live in snow free Arizona & RWD is the only way to go for me. Less weight, better mpg, 200 pounds lighter. And traction from a dig is great in RWD, no need for AWD unless you Live in inclement climate.
Great vidoe. Is that thw 2.0T version? I want to get a 2023 GT line rwd. I live in NJ and it barley snows here anymore. Plus Yes RWD is super fun to drive. Not many Asian car are RWD anymore so this Stinger is a true gem .
My only regret with my 2018 KIA Stinger GT2 AWD is that I can't to burnouts. Or at least, I don't know how to with AWD. other then that I love every aspect of it.
I’ve really been planning on getting one for a minute but ever since the used car market has been on the rise I might have to just get the BMW instead because somehow they’re going for $8000 less unfortunately
Yea its pretty ridiculous how crazy prices for cars are at the moment, I got lucky and picked mine up about a month before the market blew up, if you are patient I bet you will be able to find a good deal on one but I don’t blame you if you don’t wanna wait

I live in Chicago and have a 2023 RWD 3.3t genesis g70 and the only thing that sucks about rwd is wet roads, and burning through tires like crazy
I love my AWD GTS!

Well keep the videos coming! You have a good looking stinger and I always like to see what people are doing to them and maybe steal an idea or two.
Great video, I’ve got the 2022 Kia Telluride in wolf grey. Looking to get the matching stinger 👌 AWD because I’m in Ontario, Canada.

We only get the RWD version in Australia, makes for one less decision anyways!

You can disable awd by removing a fuse and get rwd fun lol i haven't done this personally but supposedly it works i love my awd tho
My only regret with my 2018 KIA Stinger GT2 AWD is that I can't to burnouts. Or at least, I don't know how to with AWD. other then that I love every aspect of it.
Same here brotha, same here

Easy to make it rear wheel by disconnecting the awd fuse
Push button added to the dash that interrupts that fuse is nice for an easy on/ off of the AWD.
but AWD Stingers don't have LSD in the back, like RWD Stingers do, right?
@@vadim7131 correct
Both I'm just missing a rwd 😏
in my country there is only awd options
Cool!
RWD faster
Didn’t u get gapped by @bezer345
In your dreams 😈
