It is like the metabolism myth, where you are skinny because you have a fast metabolism, and you’re fat because you have a slow metabolism, when, in fact, it is the opposite. The bigger you are the faster your metabolism is. It has to be, in order to energize a bigger body. It is like a car; the heavier it is, the more fuel it will burn.

In the context of diving and being cut under water, it’s true that, after a certain depth, your blood will *appear* blue/green because those are the wavelengths of light that are still able to reach your eyes. Red doesn’t travel nearly as far under water as blue and green, so your blood doesn’t *appear* red at depth. You are right though that, in actuality, your blood is always red, whether oxygenated or not because hemoglobin is what causes the red color, not O2. Non oxygenated blood is just a darker red whereas blood that is oxygenated is a much brighter red.
The reason why your blood is blue/green underwater is because after a certain depth light cannot reflect red therefore making it look like your blood is blue/green. Your blood is always red but range of color may vary depending on how much oxygen is in your blood.
