I find it interesting that such an expensive watch brand can’t even get the date digits to line up correctly. I notice it on a ton of Patek day/month apertures as well.

90% of their time and labor goes into the movement. They don't seem to care too much about anything else.

Omega does a far better job!

Do you drive a Lambo expecting Hyundai reliability? Suprised you didnt mention your minerva movement. its usually your go- to comment.

@@davidr2802 I'd expect basic details to be perfect if I'm spending over $20k on a watch.

@@xada2397 Nonsense. They sell watches. The way to sell a watch--or any discretionary product, for that matter--is to make it attractive for the target customer. Journe puts at least as much emphasis on the exterior of the watch as the interior. And btw, the date digits get turned...by the MOVEMENT. How they line up is a function of the mechanics of the movement. The issue here is that it's difficult and costly to get double-wheel date digits to line up precisely. There's trade-off. Rolex uses a single wheel date, but you need a Cyclops eye to read it.

If the mechanism is 18k AU, will it not wear out quicker than traditional metallic movements?

It’s just bridges and plate, the moving parts are traditional metals, and of course you have standard lubricated jewels for contact points.
