I lost 2 of my sons 42 and 44 in 14 months. I keep going by hoping we will be together again. Beautiful song. At 71 it is getting closer every day and the world is going insane.
How do you know if you're ready for His coming? In the first few verses of Matthew 25, Jesus shares a parable of ten virgins who trim their lamps and go out to meet the Bridegroom, five of whom are wise and five of whom are foolish. The foolish virgins take their lamps, but they take no oil with them, but the wise virgins not only take their lamps, but they take jars of oil with them. While the bridegroom delays, they all slumber and sleep. At midnight, a cry is heard proclaiming that the Bridegroom is coming and all of the virgins wake up and trim their lamps and the foolish virgins ask the wise ones to give them some of their oil, because their lamps are going out, but the wise ones reply to them that there's not enough for both of these groups, so they'll have to go and by some for themselves, but while they're on their way to buy, the Bridegroom arrives and those who are ready go in with Him to the wedding feast and the door is shut. Later, the other virgins come crying out to Him to open the door for them, but He replies to them with the Truth that He doesn't know them. Jesus's point in this parable is to always watch and be ready, because you know neither the day nor the hour at which He will come and unless you truly repent of your sins and put your complete trust in His perfect life, His death on that old rugged cross for the forgiveness of your sins and His resurrection from the dead for your justification and are living a holy and transformed life that conforms to the Truth of His word, His coming will take you completely by surprise and it will be too late for you, which you absolutely don't want to be the case. ⚠ ⚠ ⚠
Very nice rendition of a song that has become one of my favorites and for the courtesy of you and others who view this, this song actually contains three verses and I have the lyrics for the second verse. They are as follows: "Love of so many cold, losing their home of gold; This in God's Word is told, evils abound. When these signs come to pass, nearing the end at last; It will come very fast, trumpets will sound." Also, if you're wondering about the line in the opening verse that says "Humbling your heart to God saves from the chastening rod," Scripture is perfectly clear that the Lord opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble and pride is one of the things that is an abomination to Him. The fundamental meaning of this is when you come to Him with a broken and contrite heart, acknowledge your sins and your need of His forgiveness, repent of your sins and put your complete trust in His perfect life, His death on that old rugged cross for that forgiveness and His resurrection from the dead for your justification and the line in the chorus that says "many will meet their doom" refers to that ever-convicting, sobering and terrifying passage in Matthew 7, where Jesus Himself warns that many will say to Him on that day, "Lord, Lord! Didn't we prophesy, cast out devils and perform many miracles in Your name?", but He will reply to them, "I never knew you! Depart from me, you who work iniquity!" ⚠ ⚠ ⚠
