Then Islam came and God tested the believers by leaving their first qiblah Mecca and testing them if they were truly believers and they would obey Him and head to Jerusalem and indeed they prayed towards Jerusalem and passed the test and returned To the first Mecca, the Kaaba

+Sam Y Islam gave men the right to 4 wives, concubines, and to be able to marry christian and/or jewish women but not the same rights to women. Many women in the west had alot of power actually, it was only the US that took away the right for women to vote and many states did allow women to vote and own property before taking the rights of voting away from women. But in the western US, for example, many cities were built by women who earned money by prostitution and many countries, such as australia, were very progressive with women's rights. Some countries such as Spain, Russia, and the UK had even been ruled by women in one way or another.
both pagan european women and pagan middle eastern women had more rights and egalitarian power. both christianity and islam took over those regions, and were oppressive and patriarchal. i'm not disagreeing with you, but pointing out parallels. both christianity and islam have done bad, and maybe some good, in the world.
+Chapstick817 it really depends as not all pagans were the same, although scandinavian pagan women were more equal to their men in their society, hellenic(except for spartan, but that was because so many men were constantly in war) and roman pagan women were not treated very egalitarian, the greeks considered women to be deformed men and roman women were treated as children their whole lives, and in both cultures the wife was mostly for having children and men would have sex for pleasure with prostitutes or in the case of the greeks, young boys(in many greek city states, it was illegal for a boy who had reached puberty to be a prostitute, but it was honored if he was pre pubescent). So it really depends, some pagans had it better than christians, others worse, but muslim women had the least rights.
