We are wondering if the renovated adult pool will have an step down entrance with a rail for those with mobility issues. So you can step forward down into the pool. The renovations look beautiful.
To be honest Debby, I haven't seen any confirmation that the adult pool will remain adult only. I sure hope so because it's nice to have two separate sides. I agree though - they really do need to modify the steps to get in as they were quite steep - whether you have mobility issues or alcohol issues! :)
They typically have a huge celebration for Dia de Los Muertos (Nov 2 in 2021) and I will say that Dreams resorts are the best resort for having an excuse to have a party and celebration! I’m sure you’ll be in good hands and have a blast!

Hi Craig. The parent company for Dreams (AM Resorts) tends to be extremely tight lipped about things like this... they'll likely release more renderings as we get closer to reopening but other than that, it's unlikely we'll get much of an update. I just joined the FB group "Fans of Dreams Puerto Aventuras" and sleuthed out some photos of the renovations including one that shows the swim up suites. If I can find some more sleuth-y pics, I'll happily do another video update!
I will add that I just found some sneaky pics on Google Maps that show the new swim out suites. They look like they're separating the swim out area for each room which I LOVE. Pretty major construction going on - I'm hoping that the fellow who posted these pics continues to post updates!

Hopefully, like you said the person who is taking pictures will keep showing the progress. My fingers are crossed that I it openings on the Aug 5th as planned and I am one on the first, if not the first in the one of the rooms. I will make sure if that happens to send you any pictures I take of the resort (edited down of course). Have been to over 30 all inclusive in Jamaica, DR and Mexico over the years, but this will be the first time I might get to see a new one or a grand opening of a fully renovated one. What will be nice its in the area I am thinking of retiring in after living in the midwest (done with the snow - Kalamazoo, Michigan and now Chicago) for almost 55 years. Will keep checking back and keep up the good work.
Yes please do send pics when you get there! I've been to about a half dozen resorts just after they opened and I will say that basically all had some growing pains. Just things like staff not necessarily knowing procedures or being fully trained yet, some supplies not there yet. To me, it's like visiting a friend after they've moved into a new house - the day after they moved in. As long as you go in with lower than normal expectations, you'll have a great time. I've been to this area so many times and I think it really would be a great place to retire. We've walked all around the area and over the highway into the town and to the Chedraui (grocery store). It all feels very comfortable and easy going. Met two women who had moved there from Seattle and Michigan and after living there for 5 years, they still only had learned maybe 5 words in Spanish because they just found it wasn't necessary in the area. Very easy going area. Looking forward to hearing about your trip!
Dreams for sure. There’s a rock outcropping where the wedding gazebo is, so there’s always fish around that. Barcelo’s beach is quite rocky but I don’t recall anything jutting out into the water - nowhere for the fish to find food. Thanks for your comment and for watching!

The preferred club lounge is being updated and I'm hoping it will be expanded a bit. All preferred club rooms are on the 6th & 7th floor, so they have excellent views. If you're on the 5th floor, you'll still have a great view but that's just luck of the draw to get on that floor. Otherwise, room layout and size remains the same, whether it's PC or regular. Hi! I have a question for the follow up video: Will the kid’s splash pad look like a mini water park/splash park (with slides and sprinklers) like the one that’s offered at Dreams Natura?
I think the splash park here will be very small because of the limited space they have at this property. The water park at Dreams Natura looks amazing but I think that would take up almost the same amount of space as the resort at Puerto Aventuras! I’m hoping to get some sneak peak photos but I’m not sure if that will be allowed. Wait and see I guess! Thanks for watching!

Dreams Playa Mujures is a massive resort compared to this one. I've always found the pool size to be just fine at Puerto Aventuras though but it really depends what changes they make to things. I think any resort would be challenged to open as scheduled during the pandemic, so I'd probably give them a week or two of wiggle room. You just never know what random delays they may face. Yeah I did actually ask about these things but because everything’s in a state of flux, it’s not yet known what the full changes will be. This resort is in Cancun and I didn't hear anything about the authentic food for the location? The choices sound amazing but if my clients wanted mexican food, can they get it at the resort?
Yes technically, it’s about an hour south of Cancun, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum and they definitely have Mexican specialties. The Mexican restaurant (El Patio) has many great menu items and you can ask for their extra spicy hot sauce if you dare! Hi Manifestation Momma - you can fill out the online wedding request form www.dreamsresorts.com/en_us/resorts/mexico/puerto-aventuras/weddings.html I imagine that they have wedding staff working at another property but they definitely will still be booking weddings and taking care of brides who are already confirmed. They'll ask you to pick your wedding location right away and you don't want to delay on this or another bride or group could snap up that spot. There is also another wedding location being created. It's going to be an over-water feature and I have no idea where it will be located on the resort grounds (although if I had to guess, I'd say it would be on the north beach area near Catalonia Riviera Maya).
