Caesar must be my favorite. She doesn't have any cool recovery flips or anything like that, but as soon as she regains her footing she covers herself with her shield and remains in crouched position for a bit longer to block off any follow-up attacks. Love the detail.
Burnice, Soldier 11, Caesar, Anby and Ellen Joe have the right idea, a forward roll to break the momentum, not falling on their backs, preventing injury.
Anby's tuck and roll into a leaning squat and hand on the hilt of her blade is such a cool move. Even when disadvantaged, she's always alert and ready to fight/defend herself if needed be. Dem Obol squad be crazy good in athletics and stamina.
HI3 also does this. One thing both it and ZZZ (and perhaps other action game gacha like them but im not talking about them) include that most people overlook are these uncommon animations in normal gameplay, such as knockback or resetting the stance from an incomplete combo. They often say a lot about the character in question and most people dont even look.
Corin's is almost the most realistic here out of all these backturn knockback animations if you ask me and I like that touch. (Side note, for a normal front-faced knockback, Yanagi's more realistic by letting her back slide off.) She literally _slams_ into thr ground, but unlike everyone who recovers quick, she takes her time to recover properly and ensure she can stand without buckling. Her first animation is literally a Dodge Roll from Kingdom Hearts - extending her left arm out to help her size up distance to properly twist her body to land on her back, then letting the momentum turn her back up as she pushes herself off the ground into a jump. The jump is practically the one unrealistic bit here - but you have to remember that with enough arm strength, awareness, skill, and momentum, you can indeed jump off with your arms to stand back upright.
idk if i’m grasping at straws, but it looks like every faction has a similar way of getting up excluding the cunning hares. Belobog uses their weapons in some way to help them get up, like how Anton drives his bro into the ground, grace uses her idk weapon thing to help her get up, koleda pushes the hammer against the ground and ben, well, ben doesn’t get knocked down. The criminal investigation squad all spring up and back by lashing their legs out, probably due to taking similar training. Jane adds her twist to it with the little spin at the end, maybe adding on to her figure skating moves. The sons of calydon adjust their weapons after getting hit, then are all using a similar technique to pubsec to jump up, perhaps imitating their fighting style or that it’s just standard eridu “way of getting up” idk. But to me it seems piper, lucy and caesar all seem weighed down a bit by their weapons or i’m seeing things. Section 6 both do a small flip, and i have nothing to compare Soldier 11’s to, but if i must, she squats down and gets ready to draw her weapon very similar to anby. I am an avid supporter of the soldier 11 and anby theory. The cunning hares meanwhile are very different and i couldn’t really find a pattern, maybe it’s cuz they are just a bunch of random people. (sorry for the paragraph it will happen again lmao)
I do appreciate that characters with shields make an effort to raise their shields once they are knocked down and not just have them flail around aimlessly behind them.
I thought Burnice's didn't have as much flare as I expected, but with flammable and/or explosive canisters on your back, I'll bet you'd be keeping them upright as much as you could too lol
I love how characters with heavier weapons have to adjust due to the extra weight or how some use them to steady themselves. It's also cool to see some characters stumble slightly when standing up and having to readjust
I think the only improvement I could think of to make for Caesar's would be to have her shield take the force of the landing and push herself off of that.
I noticed this when i first started playing and Nicole pushed herself backwards with the briefcase.. Add multiple frame perfect poses in finishes and you have a banger
Ben is the only one not falling into the floor and remaining on his two feet. ❤ Lycaon is impeccable as always. ❤ Also Rina is rolling over but never actually touches the floor. ❤ But I love Yanagi's slightly not graceful stumble. ❤ And... I just noticed this but holy crap Burnice's heels look awful to wear for combat.
I love how when piper recovers, she looks like she's about to go straight from that into smacking whoever knocked her over in the first place I also love how almost all of Lycaon's movements have some extra bounce to them, really sells the strength he has in his legs
learning judo for a few months and realise those are some serious f*cking skill for falling. They allway using their shoulder and then using their back like a wheel to reduce the momentum of the attack. I could do some easy falling animation of some character like Anby for example. That is the basic rolling of judo. Love how mihoyo did with even small detail like this. Very realistic.
This is why some agents like Zhu Yuan , Lycaon , Burnice , Ceaser and Yanagi , i personally never immediately get back to attack but wait for them finished theirs animation and then attacking. Not just because they look cool as F , but also show how calm they're when facing dangerous situation.
Most the characters recover so quickly by almost jait bounching off thr ground with their shoulder, it might make sense because the attack probably have alot of momentum or energy
I just realized that the reason the sound cues are triggered before the action hits is because light is always faster than sound in normal speed so for sound engineers to compensate, they have to shift the sounds a little bit earlier.

Makes sense since the Cunning hares are mostly from different factions in the past.
Ben IS the weapon
I do appreciate that characters with shields make an effort to raise their shields once they are knocked down and not just have them flail around aimlessly behind them.
Everyone got graceful movements meanwhile Ben is just like “Hey, watch where you’re going!”
I thought Burnice's didn't have as much flare as I expected, but with flammable and/or explosive canisters on your back, I'll bet you'd be keeping them upright as much as you could too lol
How is it that they can do this for a mobile game but other AAA devs can't get people to walk

I love how characters with heavier weapons have to adjust due to the extra weight or how some use them to steady themselves. It's also cool to see some characters stumble slightly when standing up and having to readjust
Nekomata always landing on her paws 💖
even their running and walking animations are distinct. god zone zero
I think the only improvement I could think of to make for Caesar's would be to have her shield take the force of the landing and push herself off of that.
I have a feeling that I wouldn't survive trying to do most of these irl
I noticed this when i first started playing and Nicole pushed herself backwards with the briefcase.. Add multiple frame perfect poses in finishes and you have a banger
Felt it when Big Bigger barly moved.
Big bigger lol
i love the way how the animators animate weight in not only animations like this, but in cutscenes too
Lycaon flexing them legs
Ben is the only one not falling into the floor and remaining on his two feet. ❤
Lycaon is impeccable as always. ❤
Also Rina is rolling over but never actually touches the floor. ❤
But I love Yanagi's slightly not graceful stumble. ❤
And... I just noticed this but holy crap Burnice's heels look awful to wear for combat.
as a man who developed great balance by wearing high heels, I agree with you. Buy hey, at least there's some style in there v:v
13:20 Alexandrina refuses to let her cloth touch the ground
16:20 S11 did an absolute useless backflip
She's like Spiderman
leon kennedy
Maybe for distance. She's a trained soldier, right?
Hey that was a good opportunity to train she's not getting complacent
I love how when piper recovers, she looks like she's about to go straight from that into smacking whoever knocked her over in the first place
I also love how almost all of Lycaon's movements have some extra bounce to them, really sells the strength he has in his legs
Jane just gets completely folded and doesn’t even know which direction she’s facing for a bit 😂
the cunning hares have such good animations
Didn't notice that, now I know.😎😎
My people are........ All of them.😌😌👍👍
learning judo for a few months and realise those are some serious f*cking skill for falling. They allway using their shoulder and then using their back like a wheel to reduce the momentum of the attack.
I could do some easy falling animation of some character like Anby for example. That is the basic rolling of judo. Love how mihoyo did with even small detail like this. Very realistic.
I love the fact that yanagi slides a bit when she got hit and then gets up quickly
That's 360° of Jane was necessary
This is why some agents like Zhu Yuan , Lycaon , Burnice , Ceaser and Yanagi , i personally never immediately get back to attack but wait for them finished theirs animation and then attacking.
Not just because they look cool as F , but also show how calm they're when facing dangerous situation.
Loaded backshot
Love that you can feel the weight of Seth's shield because he staggers more than other characters to get his balance
Love how qingyi throws the staff in the air for a bit giving the idea she’s good at using pole arm weapons
Jezzus Christ the distance Qingyi covered on her recovery
It came with a tactical retreat.
Ah my favorite Belobog Industries character, Big Bigger.
It's like cat reflex by tapping the X button multiple times, but it's automatic.
Thanks for the video. You’re cool
Stinky backshot air 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Damn Zhu Yuan has a lot of defense in the back that it actually took her a few seconds before falling down 😅
Most the characters recover so quickly by almost jait bounching off thr ground with their shoulder, it might make sense because the attack probably have alot of momentum or energy
Grace hit it gracefully.
I just realized that the reason the sound cues are triggered before the action hits is because light is always faster than sound in normal speed so for sound engineers to compensate, they have to shift the sounds a little bit earlier.

What everyone else sees: “Wow that character looks weird with that animation type shit”
Me: *Every character receiving back pain*
The animation is so smooth and detail
