    As a 37-year-old beginner snowboarder, your videos have been so helpful. Love having some drills to practice. Keep doing what you're doing, mate!

      😆 baahh young fellow! I did swich my skis to a board in the age of 46. I learnded pretty fast the game - may be that a life long martial arts back round helped to control the body. Never back to skis! Like you said, very useful videos. Let's keep on boarding👍

    Love the video - are you riding a camber or a rocker or hybrid? I was doing the 90 degree jump-turns and catching edge every time. I ride a camber hybrid, for jumps, park and groomers but I'm thinking about getting a rocker for these kind of tricks and butters. What camber would you suggest for an intermediate rider, but beginner with tricks?

    Coach Tommie, on my take-off my nose side foward knee gets sore from popping from trying to do my frontside and backside 180s, it feels like I am missing a critical take-off step and am winding up trying to do my 180 too early putting too much torque on my foward knee, it's not a landing issue (see time 3:55 in your vid) but is a take-off issue. How do I fix this problem before I damage my foward knee? Thank you for the great vids

    Hi Tommie, what board do you use?

  • @jirayusroymalai2476
    @jirayusroymalai2476 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tommy. I find that back side 180 is a lot easier than front side. I can back side fine but still am having a hard time with the front side. With back side, I can use the toe edge for grip for pop and spin. Front side, just never can get a good grip for pop and spin. Any tips besides what's in this vid?

    • @lukejuras8024
      @lukejuras8024 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two reasons: it's easier to balance on your toes than on your heels, and you can jump higher from your toes than your heels. You can test this standing in your living room - how far forward can you lean vs how far backward? How high can you jump from your toes vs jumping off of your heels?
      The tip is to think about lifting your toes to create a heel edge (better balance) instead of trying to put more weight into your heels to create an edge (harder to balance).

    • @jirayusroymalai2476
      @jirayusroymalai2476 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lukejuras8024 Hey thanks man. I'll try that tomorrow. I can do it off a jump but not on flat ground.

    • @lukejuras8024
      @lukejuras8024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another thing to remember is that it's easier to balance when you're going fast enough, kind of like riding a bike - at slow speeds you turn by using the handle bars, but at higher speeds you can start to lean the bike without it falling over. Same thing with needing enough speed to lean in order to create an edge for spinning - just be careful!

    @raymae9051 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you are switching sides by doing 180s on the ground without any air, are you changing from one edge to another, or is there a point where you are just flat?

  • @Malfurionxtc
    @Malfurionxtc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok, so one part I was missing last time I tried to do 180 in air while moving was leaning on the edge (heel in this video)... I tried while going flat base, failed every time... What gives ? Anyone doing 180 can help me out understand this logic ? I noticed that even stationary on flat ground, crunching before the rotation and jump, with flat base board is like 10x times harder than when I dug my boards side (toe side in my case) in the snow a bit (lifting my heels in my example).

  • @imabeast7397

    Do you were stiff or flex boots/bindings?

  • @Malfurionxtc
    @Malfurionxtc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok, so do I need to learn pop and ollie first and then try this ? Or I can go with just one of those 2 first and then 180 ? or I can go straight to 180 ? Idk cuz I just learned S turns recently, and I wanna kinda speed up the process cuz winter is ending...
