It was petty though the "damage" but still 500$ is 500$. Why should you have to pay for someone else messing up your property? Some people aren't rich enough to pay that.

    Plaintiff is the real problem here. She really raised a fit over a foot of property when she already has that large of a yard. And the 'damage' to the fence was barely noticeable, JJ had to have her point it out in the photos. Plaintiff needs to get a life.
    As for the other neighbors, they probably took her side (if that's true) because she's lived there forever and they don't know the new neighbor... they probably only know what the plaintiff has told them. Of course they are going to be on her side.

Mine has done that a few times and even tried complaining to the city and it's like I don't need approval to dig holes to put in a sprinkler system and we aren't breaking any city rules. The city kept telling the neighbor we weren't breaking any rules so they finally have stopped complaining but boy neighbors like that are so hard to get along with.

      My sisters neighbour called town bylaw because they had too many wheels on their lawn. This neighbour didn't even share a property line. And then reported to them that my nephew was living in a trailer in the back yard. No, it was his hang out shed on wheels, he didn't live in it. My brother in law just got a load of gravel so the wheels weren't on lawn anymore. Problem solved!

    • @IHeartQuilting2
      @IHeartQuilting2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are doing something that is right on the edge of your property, you will generally do better to TALK to your neighbor first. For instance, years ago, my Dad and his neighbor used railroad ties to hold up part of a hill between the properties (backyard). This gave the neighbor more usable space as well as leveling my parent's yard. The house was bought and sold twice after that. New neighbors put trees within 3 feet of that construction. If they had talked to my parents first, they would have learned that not only were the trees too close to the wall to grow well, but 35 years had passed and it was time to replace that railroad tie fence with concrete blocks. They had to saw down their trees. I'm sure that was an expensive loss but the construction could not be done with the trees there. If the construction wasn't done, the hill would have given way and taken out his shed.

    She did it vindictively behind their back? It’s HER property. She’s doesn’t need permission from Karen tf

    4:00 this is the problem with Karens! They think everything has to be done through them! It's HER property why would she need to go through you for anything lmfaoo

    JJ is so right in these terrible times we have 2 Karen's fighting over a fence post.

  • @lynnettelove11

    This makes me glad that the house I bought and the ones around me came with fences so we already have marked lines basically. This was just way too much altogether but I definitely feel as if everything the defendant did was in response to being harassed by the plaintiff. She claims the defendant was being vindictive but I just think she's the type to find issues with everything. The lady just wanted a fence. I think the fact that she even bothered to go and look and do an entire survey over a FOOT of property shows that she's very very bored.

  • @aaronsweet8032
    @aaronsweet8032 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So petty, literally complaining about a foot worth of fencing on the backside, the side they don't even use, the side they probably expect the defendant to maintain. And you can see in one of the pictures where the defendant had to build her back fence parallel to that woman's fence. It boggles my mind some people's pettiness..

    So JJ makes a judgement on the trees issue without even looking at the surveys to make a determination if the defendent was correct to remove the trees?

    • @rachelfrombefore
      @rachelfrombefore ปีที่แล้ว

      She dismissed the tree situation because those trees didn’t belong to this plaintiff they belonged on another neighbor’s property.

    Get a survey done if a recent one doesn’t exist, file for permit and if approved call the town, police if ur neighbor gets in the middle

    An encroachment of even 12 inches onto your neighbor's property is still theft and trespass.

    • @newsflash7609
      @newsflash7609 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yup. If the defendant went off an built a fence without doing a survey first (which seems to be what she admitted to), that's messed up.

      The reason why JJ mentioned it being minimal and moved pasted it is because less than 12 inches does not burden title

    A foot is a foot ..if they want that foot they CAN pay the taxes and have it reZoned ..there's a lot more to it than the woman seeming crazy or petty...have fun trying to SELL your house when the surveyor tells you there is a 1 foot discrepancy... SOUNDS LIKE LOTS OF FUN! IT may seem petty I agree, but the city codes are strict and with an incorrect survey & land lines there is NO SELL!

    • @LisaJohnson-dx1dp
      @LisaJohnson-dx1dp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. Judge Judy doesn't understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of your property lines. Doesn't matter if it's an inch, a foot or 10 feet. Once someone breeches your line, you then must set it straight.
