Just wanted to assure everyone that I'm not cross with Rob over this. I think it was more do to the fact that my tolerance for those type of adverts is not as good as it was a few months ago. Had I recorded this back when I was watching a public safety film every day or so, it probably wouldn't of affected me as much.

    • @TellyArchive

taffe316 I think there is a limit to how many you can watch before it gets intolerable and maybe while your shock reactions are really funny, the subject matter in those adverts are far from it, but I don’t blame you or Rob 😊

see, this is the problem i had with all the PSAs from the start. it's not so much about us watching, because we can skip or click away. i'm worried about noah, i.e. the person who has to watch them for our entertainment - except it's not entertaining, it's just depressing, for all parties involved. this doesn't mean they can never be part of the videos. they just need their own section, and/or at the very least thorough warnings and breaks.
anyway that was super fun up until that ending! thank you! i'm glad there's at least these two episodes more to watch! it's so odd how watching someone react to adverts can be so entertaining. it's something we all take for granted and don't really think about but they manage to unite people in how memorable they can be.

    • @bellatronics
      @bellatronics 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Well, it's really not going to affect any abusers - most of the time, that's very rare. What it does is make other people around the child, neighbours, school teachers, relatives etc more aware to look out for the signs of abuse and report things that are suspicious, to NSPCC, Childline or social services etc. The point of the ads were to raise awareness in a society where talking about these things was taboo, and people actively worked to keep them hidden instead of helping kids.

  • @SuperDancingdevil

I agree with many of the points made here about the NSPCC videos and the Road safety ones they are intended to shock and shock as hard as possible without permanently traumatising people, If these films were made any softer nobody would take as much notice they would be just another advert, The NSPCC’s Full Stop campaign was very successful I think and I still have the Green full stop badge here somewhere and that film helped a lot of children and saved them too, I hope you Personally were not affected too much by them, As Brits we sometimes forget that other countries don’t tend to confront these issues as graphically as we do here and it can seem shocking and overwhelming if you’ve not encountered them before, But look at it this way by showing them here you’ve opened up awareness of these issues to many other people and if that saves one child or motorist no matter where they are then you’ve done a great service to them.

So yes I struggled to watch a bit and clearly so did Noah but @insanegamers Rob dont feel bad you have made hundreds of people think about a real life issue and may have gone someway to help solve it, and to Noah well done for uploading when you could of just left this one or edited it.

The DOE commercials (the drink driving ones where kids always die) are Northern Irish which is where I'm from, they're also pretty damn effective to the point where I know people that won't drive for hours after watching one lol They really are harrowing commercials and the way you reacted is EXACTLY the way you should have reacted, they are supposed to shock you with the truth and they do just that.

Those ads are supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, but only for a short period of time, they are not supposed to be stacked up like that. I imagine the regulators would not allow them to be broadcast stacked up that way in an ad break. I imagine if they were compiled for a tv show in a similar format to what you are doing, they would have a warning in front of the show even if the ad itself could be broadcast without.

The NSPCC ads have always been uncomfortable to watch, but I've seen one recently in the early hours of the morning, with a dad and son playing football by a tree. While distracted and on his phone, the guy's son climbs a tree and falls out, heavily crashing to the ground, then it cuts to the guy's wife who's a nurse looking out of her window in horror, and rushes out (seemingly seen the accident) but she rushes out into her garden to collect her washing from the rain and the ad ends with the dad in the park trying to get his son to breath with the message being something like: Nurses can't be there every time. Everyone should know First aid."
When I first saw it I was like: "OMFG!!!"
Why do British commercials have to be so brutal to get their message across? I feel for you Noah. I HATE these PSA ads and I live here.

Aw man, Virgin cola. I drank crates of that in the day, it was like an 6 pack from Poundland in 2005 and I worked there so I bought 6 cans a day.
Probably why I needed to have a tooth pulled last year.

Whoa just wow. Absolutely shocking at the end, however interestingly those child abuse ads would be too pc to show today due to the graphic nature but it really hits home that this happens in any country. I can see how that broke your limit and it did stop being fun and I hope that not just you Taffe but everyone is ok after watching that, it's worse being at bedtime in the UK. I hope 12 is more funnier because even for me that was too much

I normally come to this channel for a dose of happy, but this one was just weird and then made me cry. I think I must have been too young to see/understand those NSPCC ads when they were first aired, so they were super shocking. More shocking than any of the more recent ones, anyway. They had their intended effect, but were not designed to be viewed back-to-back!
Still love the channel and will be coming back for the next one, though 🙂 @insanegamers, Please try not to break Taffe in the next one 😜
