Thank you 🥰🥰
How many days can I store the icing in the fridge? Great tips, thank you.
I usually only store it in the fridge if I'm still working on a set, so usually it takes me 3-5 days to decorate so in between it goes in the fridge. Otherwise I prefer to freeze it as it keeps better and doesn't separate as quickly if I won't be using it in the coming days. I try not to have it out on the counter or in the fridge for more than 6-7 days
Thank you so much you have solved my greatest problem.
Yay!! I'm so happy to hear that 🥰
I love your videos!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
My colors separate in my bag when I store them. Is it the brand of coloring I’m using or something else?
It usually happens with flood icing, it's nothing to worry about and happens after a few days of icing sitting in a bag. You can massage the bag and it will come together. I started putting my bags in the fridge when I'm not using them and that seems to stop them from separating!
How long is it safe to leave icing in bags on counter at room temperature?
Love your videos! 🥰
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
I see you froze flood icing, others say don’t. Is there a difference on the procedure or how it unfreezes from your outline icing? Thank you for your amazing videos!
Hi! You'd defrost the same way. I prefer to always use fresh icing as it gives me less problems, sometimes I'll mix the frozen icing after defrosted with fresh icing and that works great!
If you have different consistencies of icing, will it defrost to the same consistences of an outline or flood? Love your videos!❤
They usually defrost relatively fast and not sure if one is faster than the other but I usually start massaging the bag if I need it to warm up faster!
2 very solid tips!! Thank you so much. :)
Glad to hear that, thank you 🥰
Very good tip.. How do you know which is your outline and which is flood?
Usually my outline bags is a bit smaller as I put less icing in there. Sometimes they do look similar and I'll either squish the bags to see by feel or I'll pipe a touch out an some extra paper towel i have that I test my icing on!
Great information!
Thank you 🥰🥰
I do the same with my icing bags but put a little clip on the end or a little bit of tape
Nice!!
How do you keep your tipless bags from crusting at the opening while you aren’t using that bag?
I usually have a damp paper towel beside Mr and I fold it length wise in half and put the tips inside the fold and just cover them.
hi how often can you refreeze and thaw? love your videos
I dont like to freeze my icing more than once as I find I get more colour bleed if I do it more than that! I always like to add a bit of fresh icing to my frozen when I use it too. For small details with thick icing it's not such an issue though
❤️
Also, I find that after a few hours the consistancy changes, especially the next day, it becomes much looser. Does that not mess with your icing of your biscuits?
Yes, I find that too. So I try to do most of the base layers the first night and fo the details 2nd and 3rd nights. The thicker icing for details usually keeps better. And if I need the icing that separates I have to massage it really well back together. I find putting the icing into the fridge overnight when I'm not using it helps keep the consistency better and keeps the icing form separating for longer
Is this the same for freezing cookies with no icing?
Yes 😁
Can you also make a video on how to avoid air bubbles in your icing?
Yes! I have one on it right here th-cam.com/video/RWT-pSUBbhE/w-d-xo.html
Why do you have two projector??
Why sometimes I get white areas after drying?
Hmm white areas? I've never heard of that. I'd have to see a picture to know more. You can message me on Instagram and I can see if I can help?
What are the signs that let us know that the frozen icing is no longer good to be used?
it tends to get gummy, like it separates and then feels like there's a thicker section of the icing that balls up together.
