- The compact Japanese car has got a long motorsports history and the road legal Subaru Impreza WRX STI was a popular sports car and still is, wearing just the WRX STI name. The Subaru Impreza is the less powerfull sister model. In Europe, the compact hatchback is offered with a mild-hybrid engine. How does it perform? And is it still a good choice?

Good technical review of the Subaru STI. As you said it's a no frills car, does the job it say on the tin and renowned for their reliability on and off road. Sadly Subaru has delayed for 15 years doing a proper update of their Exterior Design Language, so I would have Zero interest in buying anything from them (beside the new Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR 86). I currently drive a GR Yaris, which just eats up small, medium and motorway roads with ease. Very hard to go back from a car like this at such a good price point. Subaru you can do better, but they need a major shakeup in the board of directors to do this, and that's just not Japaness style!
