This is why I love BDS. I think it will be a good playstyle for LAN where you're probably not feeling as mechanical, so imo complicated solo plays aren't smart there.
I feel like the videos allow you to be more structured and get to questions chat would have asked as they occur naturally instead of on the spot when they ask. Although, the chaos of chat can be fun so both have positives and negatives. Also, I like the disclaimer you put in here that all of these notes are easy to make in hindsight and think it's an important one. I feel like people who have coached, or have been coached, understand that analysis and making a plan to fix issues are different parts of the process. I suppose it makes sense that a lot of the RL community hasn't been involved in sport (e or otherwise) and seem to confuse analysis with non-constructive criticism. It's frustrating when I see people think creators who do analysis are hating or being rude when it's the opposite. Glad that you're back to making content, love and appreciate the work you do
BDS's creativity seems to come from having a solid understanding of the fundamentals and flow of the game, rather than using their mechanics to win out every play like some teams. It feels like they play a fundamental game that's complemented by their mechanics, rather than playing a mechanical game that can overshadow those fundamentals. That being said, all three BDS players have the ability to make insane plays if the opportunity presents itself. Great analysis, as always! I'm loving the content lately, keep it up!
You ever think to have a co host with you while you do these videos. Love the information, feel like good back and fourths about the discussion could add more flavor. Still great content either way 👌
It would be interesting to see a comparison video, maybe pull up clips to go back-to-back of goals that are 'fundamentals' then goals that are 'mechanical'. Like what you're discussing around the 23min mark regarding BDS doing things you can imagine while VIT, TL, FUR, etc are doing things that are on another level of mechy. In principle this comes across well through your words, seeing goals/plays back to back to illustrate the point further would be very interesting imo.
Liquid applies pressure to their opponents through sheer mechanical wizardry that the opponents can't read. BDS applies pressure to their opponents through incredible consistency with their touches and always being close to the ball to force the opponents to rush and panic. I love the distinct styles that the EU top teams have at the moment.
Quick question Gregan. Hope you are doing well. You‘ve probably noticed that NRG changed they playstyle sometime in the last months. The last analysis in which you covered them you criticised their airdribble heavy playstyle that doesn’t work anymore. It would be quite interesting to hear what you think of them regarding this last split. They were far from qualifying for the major but had these one or two lower bracket runs which had a bds style, as far as I could see. Obviously I would love an analysis. But with a limited amount of time you have, I just wanted to ask you for your opinion on it. Greetings from Germany.
What’s does vitality do differently than liquid with the chaos nature is it just consistency that seems to be the difference for BDS to be able to take wins on liquid but not vitality
What I’ve also seen MM doing for a while now… he seems to very carefully decide whether to speedflip or normal front flip, depending on his positioning and other factors. It might just be me but it seems to me a lot of pros are speedliping constantly.
Sorry if thats something u already spoke about or explained before but how do u open the replays instantly in RL from ballchasing? is it a bakkesmod plugin?
Why does he talk about liquid being second while they were clearly 4th. Liquid fell short against the other top 5 teams in regional 2 and 3. A lot of the things hes talking about just seem like vague observations. I think it would be relevant to look at the dynamic of the team and how they choose to operate, also looking at individual tendencies and team tendencies. Do like the concept of taking the time to observe how these top teams play, but im just missing a clear view of what we can take from these observations.
TL lost to moist, then BDS in the reg2, both teams they beat in reg1 leading to much lower points total overall. In reg 3, they beat moist and played Vitality, went to game 7 against them. They then drop to lower and have a close game against hogan mode, which was an unexpected team faced in a lower bracket run. So far, liquid has shown to be the best vs Vitality despite not taking a series, and imo, have the most potential to beat every team, including Vitality. Kcorp also have that potential but are having a bit of post major win tilt where they aren't as energised and focused and more easily irritated. I put Liquid 2nd in terms of ability and gameplan, but clearly, BDS has a more reliable game plan, and KCorp are better if they get over their current mental block. Realistically, the top 5 are not that far apart. They can all beat each other. Vitality has shown incredible consistency meaning they've only dropped the 1 series and been close in a few others
I like the video format much better than stream personally

BDS before Rise was mostly a mental thing imo, they were in their own heads after just falling short so often
Do more of this style Please and thank you. I enjoy this

Bakkesmod plugin
@@Gregan_Mike thx alot :)
The beauty of lan is that all his analysis will probly prove to be spot on and his predictions will probly still be totally wrong
these are not the fundamentals done correctly in any sense whatsoever. Both teams, aside from vatira, are terrible at rotations and basic positioning
