Since you guys don't know much Eurovision history, I'm gonna tell you that UK coming in 2nd was such a big deal because they always end up either at the very bottom or near the bottom. They haven't won since 1997(Love Shine A Light with Katrina And The Waves, please react to that one), so them ending up on 2nd place is like I said a very big deal. They even chanted "We got points! We got points!" in the greenroom whenever they got points during the voting 😆

Apart from that they hosted Eurovision the next year so it was like they were winners
Uk dont take it seriously anymore as it's a farce of a competition. Been like it for ages. Countries voting for each other etc...

Im Greek but the most recent UK entry i loved was Never Give Up On You by Lucie Jones in 2017, the I Can by Blue in 2011
He won based on judges votes, however for the first time it was open to public vote and Ukraine got the sympathy vote.

Oh and It's My Time by Jade Ewen in 2009. Which is a song written by the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber (who rote the famous musical Cats)
