I really lose track of time when watching your videos. You are so creative and give me so many ideas. I love your color choices. I do, very much, though love your mother's heart quilt design. She did a wonderful job on her quilts. Thank you for sharing with us. I'm Connie from Nebraska, USA. 😊❤❤

Ah Kate! Your warning should have come at the beginning of this video, because I am hopelessly ( and unapologetically )hooked on Liberty fabric! But at least you live in the UK and are a bit closer to Italy than I am. I live near Seattle Washington, USA, so by the time I pay for a flight to go on a shopping trip it would cost a lot more than that precious 25 pounds per meter. So all I can do is watch your videos and drool and dream of Liberty!😊
Thanks to you, I have now been through my stash to identify any Liberty fabrics I had. Now unpicking a skirt I made that hasn't fitted me since the 1970s, in a beautiful dark green print, that will make a good cushion back.
I always feel like I have come home when I visit your home Kate. It’s like going back to my mums, I am the same age as you (maybe a year or so between us) but I feel relaxed and not on edge, just as if I am going back home, it’s so weird and I know others feel the same. I watch some vids over and over and still enjoy them, love Liberty too.
Ooooh!🤗 Ahhhh!😍 Ioved learning about Liberty Fabric and how you fell in love with it. Thank you for showing us some of your stash beautiful stash. Wowza! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Hi Kate from sunny South Carolina. I’ve started my hand quilting again after watching your show. I’ve also pulled out my unfinished knitting projects. I put your show on in the morning and go to sleep watching at night.
Hello, I love Liberty Fabrics very much also. In the past, I have bought a few patterns and made skirts for the summer they are so comfortable and soft. They are my favorites but it is expensive here in the USA. When I find it at a less expensive price I buy it. Thank you for your lovely videos, I really enjoy them.
Because you spoke so lovingly about Liberty fabrics I went on a search for it and found it on an Etsy site. Of course, being a hoarder (fabric and yarns and plants!) I had to order some. I have just received my order and just can't get over how silky and wonderful in feels. Thank you for sharing all the great finds and ideas to all of us on the lime green sofa Kate. Now I have to seriously think of how to use this luscious fabric!
Kate…I love love love your series. Everything is beautiful as you are! You bring me piece and remind me of a dear friend who has passed.a few years ago and is missed!! Thnkyou for bringing joy, piece and lovely, lovely quilts!!
As I am fairly new to this wonderful site and so I am watching as many "older" videos. I have been watching all about Liberty Fabrics. I have never bought any Liberty but I thoroughly enjoyed watch your beautiful stash. What a lucky lady you are to have been given some. I do love William Morris too, and I sighed with envy at cushions, quilt etc. Thank you for being so caring and giving us great pleasures. Much love xxx
I was in Libertys on a day trip 3 years ago - no fabric was bought but what a lovely experience visiting every floor to see what was for sale. The BBC have had a couple of series showing the workings of the store, how items are chosen to sell, great programmes to watch, as are your video's :)
Thanks for sharing your story about Liberty Fabrics. I am really interested in learning how to quilt but nobody in my area teaches quilting so I ‘ll be watching you and learning as much as I can from your videos. Thanks again.
Perfectionist is the word you were looking for. My boyfriend doesn't understand the hoarding of fabric. I keep telling him that sometimes they discontinued the fabric that is why I have to buy it now or I won't be able to buy it later. I don't think he is sold on the idea. The Liberty fabric is beautiful, my Granddaughter's name is Liberty. She will be glad to know that there is fabric with the same name as hers. Can't wait to see what you have made with the Liberty fabric. Thanks Kate 😊
I made my bridesmaids dresses out of Tana Lawn fabric ;). It was back in 1998 and I don’t thjnk it was quite as expensive back then. I still have the scraps and like your idea of decoupagjng a box with the tiny bits. My first summer job was working at Liberty’s and I had a nice discount!
Kate, If I ever quilted ( which I haven't...YET 😊) When you showed the big quilt...my heart melted. THAT is what I imagine MY quilt (or English paper piecing which is about ALL I probably can handle lol) I'm lost. But too far expensive for me at that price. Can't wait for you to make another cushion. I don't believe there's anything of yours I've disliked. Kindred spirits! ~ Hugs, Anita S
Your beautiful quilt reminds me of Monet's garden paintings . On one of my visits to London years ago I saw the exhibition of his lily paintings . They were huge and the way he portrayed light was similar to the colourwash quilt . Of course I visited Liberties too on my excursions and often bought in their sales which were so busy. I would catch the 6 a.m. train from Plymouth and catch the 6p.m. train back in the evening. It was exhausting but I love train journeys and as I was married to a railway man at the time it was free!
I too love Liberty Fabric! And yes its far too expensive for me buy as well! I always tell my mom, maybe someday! I wish more quilt shops and fabric stores here in the USA would carry Liberty, but maybe it’s too expensive even for them to get. 😆 I did see where Jenny w/Missouri Star was going to be getting some, but they were sold out pretty quick. I haven’t checked to see they had gotten anymore. I may have to look!
Thank you for taking the time to explain Liberty fabrics. I had no idea there was such a rich history. Also your positive attitude about the company moving to Italy is inspiring. You could have fussed but instead you turned it into a vacation!🙌💚🌟
Hi Kate, Liberty fabrics are printed by Stamperia Olonia , which is located in north Italy not far away from Milan. I agree with you , its 'sad when a factory closes and the same job it's done in a foreign country. It has happened to many factories here in Italy too. I really like your channel which I started to whatch for the quilts you make ( I am a beginner) , but i fuond en entire fantastic world. Thankyou for sharing your life and all your skills.
yes - a few people have posted the location - I won't be going - I have enough fabric to last me a while and I have so much to do here with all the beaks and mouths and plants to see to - From about this time of year its hard to get away even over night! but I'm happy with that! xxx thank you!
Ooo I love me a bit of William Morris. I adore your videos Kate. I'm going to break down and treat myself to some liberty. Yes, I am. Love and blessings from my heart to yours. 💞 your quilt pushed me to the 'dark' side. 😉on Ebay yes I blasphemed
to the dark Side! ha ha!! please don't make me the calayst to your descent into madness! there are some wonderful affordable fabrics you can play with first! ha ha!!!
Haha, no Kate you are not to blame, remember my marbles are still lost somewhere. I did however buy some on Amazon for 9.00 . When it arrives I will let you know. Tana Lawn I think, hopefully there will be enough to follow along with your next project. Take care till then. Much love.
Thank you for the History of Liberty Fabrics, very interesting and all unknown to me. Your Quilt is absolutely Beautiful and I am sure it will be treasured. Love your EPP Cushion, it look lovely and squishy.
I don't know how I missed this one! But I know It would have gotten a thumbs up from me so it did now. What a life changing gift- and gifted to someone who could so appreciate it. Your talent is outstanding.
I just found Liberty fabric in a local shop here in USA..... feels so silky! I have heard you talk so much about this, and i really enjoyed hearing about the history.
Thank you so much, Kate, for the introduction to Liberty fabrics. I'm hoping to come across some in the future. Also, thanks for explaining the Patreon details. Anxious to see the collection of quilts you've made...they would make fantastic postcard photos, you know! Always enjoy your channel and your kitties.
I love watching your channel so much. I love all the hand work you do , and I do as well. I do work on the machine as well but my favorite sewing is by hand ! Thankyou for sharing . I also love William Morris fabric. When I started my quilting I learned to do it all by hand and making templates with ruler and scissor. Beautiful fabrics you acquired , how lovely!
I’ve been a sew-er since I was about ten. The my twenties, I bought a length of Liberty lawn from a fabric store, gone now, in Massachusetts near my hometown. I made a pretty sleeveless pullover blouse and kept the scraps and they’ve been in my fabric stash for over fifty years. I love the hand of the rubric, it’s so beautiful. I keep thinking I’ll do something with it someday, but it’s really only a scrap about 5” by 18” or so. Maybe I someday will make a small quilt cushion and put it in. Thank you, this was a wonderful story.
wow wow wow I just found you and what a super time. I had never heard of Liberty fabrics and yet I worked with beautiful lawns years ago made several darling dresses for my grands and a friends grands. Your video has intrigued me and I am now a subscriber so I will not miss your next informative views of Liberty. I also watched trip around the world block and teared up a bit when I saw your Mother with her quilt. I lost my Mother in Jan 2014 I was making a quilt for her the year before when she wanted matching goodies for her new LR furniture. I finished many pieces that we all enjoyed before she went down health and was placed in a nursing home for her last few months of life. She never got to see the finished quilt. I have it permanently on my couch.
I live in Catalonia and did not know Liberty fabrics, I find the way you work with them beautiful. I bought a lot of fabric from the Uk for my quilting (a hobby I got when I retired from teaching Spanish), but never saw this Liberty fabrics in the on line stores I frequented. Now, if Brexit goes further, I will have to stop buying in the UK. You make lovely pieces. And in other videos of yours I observed the very beautiful fabrics you use.
Oh dear, I don't even sew, but I can certainly see the addictive properties of Liberty fabric! How very lovely. Thank you again for sharing your corner of the world.
Your quilts are beautiful. I started quilting a few years ago. This year I was given quilt kit to make. the fabric was so rich feeling. I know just what you mean about the feel of certain fabrics. So I am glad your mothers neighbor was so generous to you. Have a nice week. I am from New Hampshire, U. S. Snow is just about gone. Yah!
Had not heard of liberty fabrics until I started following you, they are beautiful and make you want to create. They sound pretty pricey but sound lovely and worth having some in a stash! Thanks for sharing and loved your story of how you came to have the liberty fabric. Your quilt and pillow are beautiful and am looking forward to more time with you and liberty!
Wonderful intro to the Liberty fabric Kate. This series is going to be so exciting. You seriously need to vacation to Italy. I'm hoping someone from there is on your channel watching!!
Thank you for the interesting history and story behind your Liberty fabric. What a gift! I have heard the type of quilt you made for the quilting event called a watercolor quilt or technique. It is lovely. Looking forward to your series, and of course, the garden. Thanks ever so much. Take care.
Beautiful fabric! I’ve been quilting for 18 years and I am very happy I can’t get my hands on that fabric line. Lol! I’m a bit of a fabric hoarder. Thank you for sharing your videos. Mimi from Painesville, Ohio USA
What beautiful fabrics! I have always been in love with florals and what I thought of as "feed sack prints" . Your colorwash quilts are really special. As always, thanks for sharing and have a joyful day.
when I saw the quilt hanging on the wall in the photo I thought how beautiful...almost ombre effect...I can see why you love the Liberty Kate & your quilts show its quality off very well
Hi Kate, watched the second upload of the video today and I always thought I cover the speaker of my phone somehow. Just saw this upload, quickly checked the sound (great and understandable as usual) and now enjoying to watch the video a second time today. I really love to hear the story behind the fabrics and how you came to them. The fabrics are really gorgeous and I fully understand that you love them 😉 Looking forward to the other videos of the "Liberty series". xoxo from Germany, Stephanie
That is fabulous fabric. I love the shop it’s wonderful. The fabric is so fine when you touch it. I suppose it is expensive but if you love it and it’s for a project in your own home you could consider it. I absolutely love the velvet William Morris curtain material with the fox, hare and peacock but it’s £116 a metre 😭 I’m buying the lottery tickets and who knows what might happen in the future! I just love the arts and crafts period and recently bought a sewing table from around 1890. It came from Germany and has hearts carved into the wide legs. It was hardly used with the original pin cushion intact and drawer keys. Sadly the condition was poor condition but I’d been looking for a nice sewing table for years and I loved this one so I bought it! I decided to pay and get it restored and it’s been gone a long time but the french polisher returned it to me just this week and it’s fabulous. He loved it himself and I can’t believe how nice it’s turned out. If I can work out how to get a picture to you I’ll send one. Thanks for another amazing video. I’m really enjoying them.
I’ve just made a pinafore for my one year old granddaughter Grace. Kate you are absolutely right, Liberty fabric is beautiful to work with. I’m trying to think how I can ask to have it back once she’s outgrown the pinafore! 🤔😂🙊
Perhaps with the covid fiasco Liberty fabric will come back to the UK where it should be. However better to be in Italy than China. I love the closing shot of light and dark patches.
Thanks for looking into the audio, great video, never knew about Liberty fabrics and it was great to learn all about it. Your quilts are so pretty!! Can’t wait for more.
Oh I just adore your Liberty fabrics ... so dreamy. There's a lovely simple quilt in the book "By the Bundle" [by Emma Jean Janson] which uses contrasting (cream) background fabric to 'snowball' one corner on four matching print squares, and then sews the four squares together to form a diamond in the centre. When you use Liberty prints and arrange them as you have in an "ombre/gradations/colourwash" look, the effect is simply stunning. It's my dream to make a quilt using my favourite muted Liberty floral prints one day (or I may have to settle for Liberty-look prints, which will be more affordable). Thanks for your series, Kate. ~Diana from Toronto
At odd times here and there, I get Liberty here in the States in affordable scrap packs through Alice Caroline or Pink Castle Fabrics. Lucky for you and your mum to have such a thoughtful friend in Kathleen. She knew with whom to share her hoard!
Thank you Kate, a really interesting video, I didn't know they had moved manufacturing to Italy. Loved your story about your Mums friend, old haberdashery products are great, I still have a few things I bought from a shop that closed when I was about 18, some of the price stickers say mad amounts like 10p !
I started following a few days ago and am hooked!! You are very entertaining in an endearing way. I usually have a big smile on my face... I am amazed at all you do!! Its fascinating and very educational!
hello Kate, lovely video love liberty too, but never buy it too rich for my pockets :) beautiful cushion and quilts thank you for sharing them, have a beautiful week x
Check Liberty's website, they have a fabric scraps and remnants section, and whilst they're still pricey, they're definitely cheaper than buying individual fabrics.
Hi Kate, YAY, another quilt video. I thoroughly enjoyed your back-story. The fabrics and their collection/colourways are gorgeous but the story of your mum and her friend is priceless. What an interesting family. I'm looking forward to the upcoming videos and creations. I feel you are rekindling interest in the craft of quilting. Good on you. No Norma again? Take care. Regards from Oz. Sue xx
Your stash of Liberty fabric is amazing and will be included in many worthwhile projects in future. Lucky lady.
I heard about Liberty fabric a long time ago but I really appreciate the history that you shared
I really lose track of time when watching your videos. You are so creative and give me so many ideas. I love your color choices. I do, very much, though love your mother's heart quilt design. She did a wonderful job on her quilts. Thank you for sharing with us. I'm Connie from Nebraska, USA. 😊❤❤
I finally figured out why I love watching you so much, especially in the morning with my first cup of coffee. Your vedios are so genuine, it feels as if I've come round for a morning visit. Thank you for inviting me into your home. And, thank you for not being overly fussy. The cats, the bit of clutter, even the patina on the ironing board that you don't try to hide or edit out add to that feeling of being there with an old familiar friend. Of course, we're not friends. We're strangers, oceans apart. But you remind me of my late mother-in-law, who loved to do all the things you love to do. She had poultry, a garden, cats, clutter, and a sewing room. She was soft spoken like you, but with a West Texas accent. More of a comment than you care to read. But, thank you again for having me and making me feel at home.
Arhh... 😁 My hubby has a beautiful shirt made from the strawberry thief in blue fabric. He wore it for our daughter's wedding 🍓💙

Beautiful quilts. I love hearing all the knowledge you share with us.
In Monreal Liberty fabrick starts at $26.00 for a half meter. Too bad! You are lucky to have it. Love your videos.
Thank you for higher volume for oldies😍like me! You inspire me!
Liberty should send Kate a box of fabric for all of the publicity and rave reviews she gives them ❤️

Sound much better...thanks. love the fabric. Truly expensive. Can't wait for the whole series you are going to do.
You talk really naturally like we are your friends having a chat
Thank you for the interesting history and story behind your Liberty fabric. What a gift! I have heard the type of quilt you made for the quilting event called a watercolor quilt or technique. It is lovely. Looking forward to your series, and of course, the garden. Thanks ever so much. Take care.
Beautiful fabric! I’ve been quilting for 18 years and I am very happy I can’t get my hands on that fabric line. Lol! I’m a bit of a fabric hoarder. Thank you for sharing your videos. Mimi from Painesville, Ohio USA
that is the best attitude to have - in a world filled with beautiful fabric - Liberty is just one - there are so many more! enjoy what you have! xxx
What beautiful fabrics! I have always been in love with florals and what I thought of as "feed sack prints" . Your colorwash quilts are really special. As always, thanks for sharing and have a joyful day.
Thank you for re-posting. Much appreciated. You are so multi-talented, very impressive. Thanks. 🐱
These fabrics are so beautiful and I love the way you put them together. Heavenly! Can't wait to see more. Hugs Kate!
Omg the sound is just perfect as always! Great job fixing it. 👍💕xxxx
I watched them both, they were so good. I am so getting my hands on a piece of Liberty Fabric! Thanks Kate and best wishes from Molly and me.
I was aware of your love of Liberty fabric and vaguely wondered how you could afford such a stash. Now I know!! Interesting chat. 😊
when I saw the quilt hanging on the wall in the photo I thought how beautiful...almost ombre effect...I can see why you love the Liberty Kate & your quilts show its quality off very well
Looking forward to see your artistry
Hi Kate, watched the second upload of the video today and I always thought I cover the speaker of my phone somehow. Just saw this upload, quickly checked the sound (great and understandable as usual) and now enjoying to watch the video a second time today. I really love to hear the story behind the fabrics and how you came to them. The fabrics are really gorgeous and I fully understand that you love them 😉 Looking forward to the other videos of the "Liberty series". xoxo from Germany, Stephanie
I know how you feel lovey, I am in love with Tula Pinks designs from Free Spirit fabrics ( at least that is reasonably affordable) xo
Just what I thought, vacay in Italy to find fabric! Or find some other beautiful fabric! 🧵🐈✂️🐾🦙🌸🍒🐝🐝🐝🐝
I look forward to this series. Kate, you are an extremely talented artist! I love your channel, I love your teaching style, and I love your pussycats!
The sound is much better now. Thank you.
I'm SO jealous! Gorgeous fabrics and your quilted projects are beautiful.

At odd times here and there, I get Liberty here in the States in affordable scrap packs through Alice Caroline or Pink Castle Fabrics. Lucky for you and your mum to have such a thoughtful friend in Kathleen. She knew with whom to share her hoard!
Just loved this story, and so happy to learn the origins of the beautiful fabric! Thank you so much! XOXO
This does sound better. Love you videos
Thank you and you are very welcome! xxx
hello Kate, lovely video love liberty too, but never buy it too rich for my pockets :) beautiful cushion and quilts thank you for sharing them, have a beautiful week x
Thank you for the education on Liberty fabric. Now I need to search for some so I can put some in my stash of fabric. I can’t wait to feel it!
So looking forward to this series, lucky you having liberty fabric to work with
Check Liberty's website, they have a fabric scraps and remnants section, and whilst they're still pricey, they're definitely cheaper than buying individual fabrics.
Sue xx
