What are the best weight bbs to use for this? Using .3 and cant have hop up set to more than a few clicks and the wind carries them left and right. Thinking .36 or .4 whats better for this gun?

I got my scope from my local field for around 40 usd. Really any scope that is a 1-4x would be best. You really don’t need anything over 4x for airsoft. Amazon has a decent selection of cheap scopes. Idk what other sites are good in eu.

A jack try asking others if they are willing to let you shoot there top of the line sniper . Turst me you will get rid of that cheap one so fast you might just give it away
asg is better out of the box. Well isn't known for very good quality. If you are looking for an upgrade base, the jg bar 10 is much better and is still in a similar budget. This is because the jg is vsr compatible. Also the jg will feel a little better quality. Only get the well if you can find out that the oem is the same as the jg bar 10s or cyma vsr 10s.
@@DD-xv3kp Again, for out of the box I would go asg, but for using as an upgrade base I would go cyma, as it is vsr compatible. Just remember, to make pretty much any airsoft sniper super competitive, you are going to have to spend at LEAST another 200 in parts. Basically, I bought the m40 to dip my toes in sniping, because it was the cheapest decent sniper, but if you know you want to snipe and are dedicated you are going to want to start with a vsr compatible platform.
I got this as my first sniper gun, before ii knew better! it’s inconsistent, upgrades are hard to find as its not vsr compatible the hop up is plastic and mine does not like .40g bbs and the hop rubber is not that good resulting in air leaks and inconsistent shots But that being said if you are a good tech there are a few things you can do and lets face it most sniper rifles all need a lot of work to get you that range and accuracy I am thinking of getting the Novritch “budget” vsr as it works well out of the box But your milage may very
@@simonpike779 Yes that's essentially what I said, good for backyard plinking, but not viable for fielding, mine also dislikes .40, but is best with .36. My snipers shots were actually pretty consistent considering the cost relative to the gun. but yeah at the end I said if you want to field a sniper, get a vsr or bar 10.
So i have had this sniper for maybe 1- 2 years, the problem is it is inaccurate (or i am?), i tried to zero the scope And it still kept shooting way too high so i just put the hop up to minimum, this fixed it (yes i know that is not how to fix it, but i did it) And also the the bbs go a little left And right sometimes. I have only cleaned the barrel maybe once or twice since i got it, because i dont play a lot, And i cleaned it with silicone oil (the airsoft store owner told me it works) Im planning on getting some isopropanol alcohol (90% or something) for cleaning the barrel, will this work? Can i clean the hop up with it too? Im going to put the scope on my m4 for a test if it actually works (the scope) or if the problem is in the sniper, actually now that i think the problem could be the bbs? I use g&g .32 Bio (grey colored) And they seem to have a powder coating? (they feel smooth but look weird, they leave some grey powder residue on the magazine lip)
Not too sure as I have never felt the need to clean a barrel or hop up. Testing the scope is a good idea. Also if the ones you are using have a coating, and you say its rubbing off on the mag that could be your problem, rubbing off on the barrel and bucking. I would use white .36g bbs because believe it or not that .04g makes a difference. Remember no matter what weight you use the wind will be a key factor in your accuracy at range, its just more noticeable when you are shooting one shot vs a burst of 5. Also because it is one shot, I would try using objects for stability.

The key with this gun is to use .36g BB and hop to max. It will not shoot at distance well with any other BB weight. Never use bio BB. Not only are they low quality, but they also are more expensive than normal BB. And don't buy into that environmentalist crap. Most biodegradable plastics are not even biodegradable.
Not sure as I just taped it off and painted it, I don't own the gun anymore to look either. I would say knock the pin out and it should thread off though.
Hop up puts a backspin on the bb, which makes an airsoft gun with an adjustable hop up have a much longer range than one without. The adjustability allows you to use heavier bbs which get effected by the wind less, but fly slower.

Most scopes for $50 aren't the best, but even for airsoft I don't recommend a scope with more than 4x magnification. When I use this sniper I bought the scope for $30 and it holds zero, but I only ever use it on 1x magnification. For anything that isn't a sniper I recommend a red dot or holo. For snipers I recommend like a 1-6x scope with a sniper reticle. Its really just personal preference though. I saw someone running an ssg24 with a micro red dot last week. I also saw someone running an arp9 with a 3-9x the week before that. It really depends on how you play what styles you prefer.
you wouldnt use it in a game, ah yes. there a lot of people that say for 80 dollars, its the best sniper you can get, and i have been using this on the field for 2 months now, and i dont see a single reason why you shouldnt use it. the fps is good and the accuracy is also really good. you are also saying that you cant find upgrades for it, what do you expect when you buy a sniper rifle for 80 dollars
yes for 80$ it is worth the money, and is the best sniper that is sub $100 imo, however if you want a truly competitive sniper all said and done, you will spend around $400. I guess it does depend on the skill level of the player though, I'm not the best with airsoft snipers so I prefer dmrs for long range so I can get faster follow up shots.
Agreed, plus most of the higher dollar ones aside from the quick change spring like the SRS or Amoeba shoot at almost 500FPS which is way outside the velocity limits of most fields. This gun out of the box is field legal pretty much at any outdoor field.
Not many, the trigger box is unique so you will be stuck there, with mods you can fit an action army hop which will help a lot but its not cheap Mine is a bit of a turd and is unusable the field so am thinking of flat hop nub and bucking (£15 from Taiwangun) to see if that helps but not spending on this thing more than that
Wow that’s a lot. I’m assuming you converted to usd in which case this gun definitely is not worth your money. Unless you are looking at the higher end m40a3 and not the sportline. I believe asg makes a higher end m40a3 for around that price so many be you confused them?
Well is a 90 bucks sniper rifle... This is actually a great sniper for begginers, and it does uses VSR10 upgrade parts so is not hard to upgrade... The only thing you got right is that the trigger box and cylinder will not hold a high power spring... If you planning on upgrade this, start with the hopup group (Inner barrel, hop chamber and bucking), then you will have to change basically the trigger box and the cylinder group (cylinder, piston, piston head, spring guide and nozzle) so it can hold a power spring
I wasn't super sure on parts compatibility at the time of this video because I hadn't modded it. I was going off of what other people were saying on youtube after watching a bunch of videos about it. Good to know.
But why upgrade a cheap guy to waste money when you get better then you will want something way better , and it's another journey down the bank . I know most beginner plays might not want to pay top dollar or have money to the best stuff . The way I see it is take your time to get a gun that hits take kills an make that your own. I waste money on cheaper ones same type of gun just for them cheap guns collect dust
Yeah that was my mindset. Buy it to see if I like the sniping play style. I can keep up with aegs, but isn’t anything near the performance to a built vsr or silverback.
@@JGSnipes I bought a novritsch ss96. Have so much fun with it . Then I saw a china made version for 40$ so I decided to buy it and if it wasn't good what can I improve on it . Tell you the truth a cheap gun will only go so far . So now that cheap ss96 is for other ppl that want to shoot at my backyard. I don't even bother using one day was good enough

What iam trying to say just save your money or use credit card and payments on one that will let you have fun and not worry about anything else other then regretting buy the cheap one . I bought a 45$ p90 and 65$ ss96, got happy when it came use it for half a day now I dont even bother picking it . I even tried to customize my own tricks to make it alittle better still not good

with the hop maxed .36s flew straight, .40s would fall short because the hop wasn't strong enough to lift them.
What scope did you use with the M40A3 Airsoft Version?
cheap scope I found at a local shop, 1-6x magnification, I ran it at 2x
I got a sonic king 3x - 9x on Amazon for $50 👌🏻 really decent scope for the price.

If you want to upgrade your m40a3, evike is selling a special barrel for this gun. Its also vsr10 compatible.

asg is better out of the box. Well isn't known for very good quality. If you are looking for an upgrade base, the jg bar 10 is much better and is still in a similar budget. This is because the jg is vsr compatible. Also the jg will feel a little better quality. Only get the well if you can find out that the oem is the same as the jg bar 10s or cyma vsr 10s.

Have you used a bipod on it? If so, what bipod and how well did it work?
I have not used a bipod on it. It really doesn’t need one unless you want the look. I took out the weights in the front it weighs like 4lbs now.

.36g bbs worked the best for me, anything above it would have a hard time hopping. I have tried .4g bbs and it kind of lobs them rather than hopping

Advertised around 400 tested with .36 at the field converted the joules were around 370-390 I don't remember which it was closer to

I got a Pinty 4 to 9x for £15 from ebay, does the job if you set it up well and tbh you dont need much of a scope for about 100m shots max!

Yes but as it is a hybrid rifle, you have to figure out what parts are what. It is an L96 and VSR hybrid.
