Good day all, could anyone explain the hidden meaning of this song?

The original is the men version (a sea shanty). Talks about how men left Spain, had to leave the comforts of their home to sail (probably the navy) and head on west. Most of it is literal and the last part is about how they treasure each other's lives and those women who are true, loyal and faithful (meaning if they come home, it is still them that they're wives are waiting for and non else)
