  • Daniella Bruce and Ken Daniels are joined by Red Wings center Marco Kasper this week. The three discuss Kasper's path from Austria to Sweden to the NHL in Detroit and how playing in different overseas leagues shaped his game. What was the transition to American hockey like? Also in this episode, Kasper explains his brief acting career and lets us in on his cheat meal of choice. Presented by Fieger Law.

Kasper has that Juice and the skill to go with it! Dude is very tenacious getting the puck back. With his speed his overall game will keep improving every year. Kasper and Danielson are developing just as i hoped at the center position.

I also broke my kneecap playing hockey and finished the game as well. There was only like 10 minutes left, it was crazy how big the swelling was above my knee.

Marco, nice greetings from Innsbruck ! I've enjoyed to visit your guest-training session last summer in Innsbruck with HCI Hockey Club Innsbruck / sharks. Wish you a very good and healthy season!

That was a very cool interview. I've liked Kasper since his draft year and would watch highlights of his SHL games. He seems like a very grounded and talented person and I hope he wears the Wings sweater for a long time. He'll be an integral part of the first or second line very soon because he just gets it. As Mickey says, "way to go, kid" and I mean that in a most respectful way.

Its nice to see independence and intelligence shine through in a young man rather than seeing him as just an athlete to the fans. :)

German pancakes are different than crepes. Sometimes called "Dutch Baby" in the US. Baked in cast iron, its easy and delicious. Try it with homemade butter syrup.

Swedish is a Germanic language. Many similarities, like Marco said.

Wings desperately need Kasper to develop into a top line center. His floor needs to be Larkin’s level for this team to go anywhere.

@leviklynstra8975 It's not an unfair assessment. The point is when the Wings are a cup contenders.Larkin will no longer be a 1C, and he more than likely will not be wearing the C by then and that's if they even get to that point with Larkin at the helm.

@@Detroitgondoit Steve wasn't the most talented player when the wings won, but he was still the leader of the team. I could see a similar situation playing out for Larks.

SY isn't paying the next Gretzky the $10M or more it would take to get a legit HOF/GOAT in his prime on this team. Be happy with the swan songs of the Modanos, Hulls, Kanes of the world.

“I’ll just take a pain killer I’ll be okay” yikes, he’s just a kid hopefully that’s doesn’t become a habit like it has for so many current and retired nhl players.
