The writer of the story was unrealistic. People NORMALLY do not behave like His characters in this film. Let me explain. Why should the Hero feel he shouldn’t marry his lover because of a Missing Leg! What the hell difference does it make … he is intelligent, earns money, can have children…so would a real person think he is unmarriageable. Secondly, Sadhna decided to sit on a log of wood cross legged to chop off her leg with an electric Saw ( Aree). Wah, so she thought it will be a much easier and better life if both partners are Langde! Really….should every wife in real life do it if her husband loses a leg or use of a leg!! I was stupid at the age of 16 to to see it three times. But the songs were fantastic.

Really, can you imagine our mothers visiting the local whore! So nothing has changed. The scene was not in the original novel anyway! Thankfully I stopped watching Bollywood in 1980. I used to like film bhajans sung in semi classical style…now I have seen a bhajan in films over 25 years…yes plenty of alla maula in its place.

I have watches this movie hundreds and three times but thirst is not extinguished, something very special and a a bit spiritual mystic in the snow visuals and the dust of wood powder in atmosphere. आरजू फिल्म मैंने जयपुर में 1966 मे देखी थी बहुत ही अच्छी लगी थी । कहानी और दृष्य अच्छे थे, साधना जी व राजेंद्र जी का अभिनय बहुत ही उम्दा था। संगीत व गाने कर्ण प्रिय थे । TV पर कई बार इस फिल्म को देखने का मन करता है । धन्यवाद ।

How Feroze Khan came in Arzoo...... Have been well mentioned in Rajendra Kumars Biography with the efforts of his daughter Dimple. Another surprise is so acceptable hero whose films were running for Silver/Golden Jubilees, Filmfare never honoured him with any declared awards and only nominations were there for 2-3 films. Big Surprise. He was the richest actor of his time.
After going through this video it strikes to my mind that Ramanand Sagar was also so committed director, that he didn't compromise on any thing in making this movie. He proved himself as one more director on par with K.Asif who never compromised in making Moghul-e-Azam. This picture was released in our town in an old theatre, which rarely exhibited colour films with poor seating, but with very good lighting and sound system. These two aspects made audience to flock to the theatre, watched the movie repeatedly and it had a very good run. The songs were so popular that the passers-by on the roads stop their bicycles for a while and listen to the songs fully, as the sound was audible on the roads. Your video took me nostalgic and I recap all those good memories of my high school days.

Greatest romantic movie and all time great. I have watches this movie hundreds and three times but thirst is not extinguished, something very special and a a bit spiritual mystic in the snow visuals and the dust of wood powder in atmosphere. Rajendra kumar is incredibly superb in this film, simply matchless. You deserve my gratitude for this unusual love story Arzoo to retrospection.

आरजू फिल्म मैंने जयपुर में 1966 मे देखी थी बहुत ही अच्छी लगी थी । कहानी और दृष्य अच्छे थे, साधना जी व राजेंद्र जी का अभिनय बहुत ही उम्दा था। संगीत व गाने कर्ण प्रिय थे । TV पर कई बार इस फिल्म को देखने का मन करता है । धन्यवाद ।

Great film of great director, actors and music director. Rajendras films during 60s were running housefulls.
How Feroze Khan came in Arzoo...... Have been well mentioned in Rajendra Kumars Biography with the efforts of his daughter Dimple. Another surprise is so acceptable hero whose films were running for Silver/Golden Jubilees, Filmfare never honoured him with any declared awards and only nominations were there for 2-3 films. Big Surprise. He was the richest actor of his time.

After going through this video it strikes to my mind that Ramanand Sagar was also so committed director, that he didn't compromise on any thing in making this movie. He proved himself as one more director on par with K.Asif who never compromised in making Moghul-e-Azam.
This picture was released in our town in an old theatre, which rarely exhibited colour films with poor seating, but with very good lighting and sound system. These two aspects made audience to flock to the theatre, watched the movie repeatedly and it had a very good run. The songs were so popular that the passers-by on the roads stop their bicycles for a while and listen to the songs fully, as the sound was audible on the roads.
Your video took me nostalgic and I recap all those good memories of my high school days.
