I wish lovely Kathryn Grayson had made this movie with Mario Lanza as her partner... Nevertheless it‘s nice to follow the video - so thanks a lot for sharing it! 🙏 Great channel, by the way! 👍 I just subscribed to it!
I didn't know that, Elizabeth. Thanks for sharing that information. I guess that many of these stars had a story to tell of things behind the scenes. It is always very sad when some illness or tragedy halts the career of someone with talent.......we always wonder what more lovely things they could have done. At least we have this clip to enjoy.
Oreste had a glorious tenor voice, and this is a gorgeous duet with the great coloratura soprano Kathryn Grayson, so beautiful!
They certainly do justice to this beautiful song.

He quit singing while still young because of a heart condition and lived into his 70s.

@@MinstrelSurfer Malta has very good opera singers like Orestes.A current one I follow who has a gorgeous voice is Joseph Calleja.
Joseph Callejah is one of my favourite tenors (I also like Jonas Kaufmann). I love opera and have seen many wonderful productions over the years.
You have good taste. If you're a youngster I salute you.Us oldies fear not many of the new generations enjoy opera or even musicals💌
how can someone be so romantically inclined and have a sword dangling at his side? Is it to chop roses?
Sarge Carter from Gomer Pyle brought me here. I think Gomer sang the song better.
Yeah me to on May 10th 2021- its showing on MeTv cable now !
I was given the DVD set for my birthday since none of the streaming services have it.
I was lucky to get Hogan Heroes for Christmas as well
I prefer the Spike Milligan version
This guy can't keep his hands to himself!
@ Liche Christ: Nor can he sing in tune consistently-more often than not, he’s slightly below pitch at the beginning on a tone.
Dicht!
Right on.
@@jimdrake-writer It may be the sound quality of the film itself, she doesn't sound quite right either.
@Roger Propes: I just listened to it twice in succession, and I think you’re right-the normally bright timbre of her voice has a muffled quality here.
