This was such a great fun film of its time, and listening to Big Country took me straight back to a point in the 1980's that I listened to their music every morning just to get me motivated to get up and go to work, its good memories, even though at the time I was in a dead end job on very little money, but I was young and I had a job and could afford a motorbike.
Fantastic tribute and video... was smiling at the bang on lip synching of Stu's live performance with the recorded version; excellent job right there. Stu's music was incomparable in terms of majestic epic rock... NO one did it like him.
Absolutely brilliant, Keith. A superbly made video that’s very much how it may likely have been. It’s the single that never was but should have been. R.I.P Vincent Friell.
This is a fantastic tribute! Thanks for taking the time & effort with putting this video together. Early Big Country recordings I think are their best. I'm from southern England but I saw Restless Natives when it first came out in 1985 & I've watched it many, many times since then! I've only been to Edinburgh a few times & I've been to the Highlands on a few occasions too but I'm glad I saw the Sighthill tower blocks before they were pulled down as part of Wester Hailes redevelopment. The redeveloped area looks VERY different now from when Restless Natives was made! I heard that the 'money' that The Wolfman was throwing out was (obviously) fake with an image of Boy George instead of the Queen and it annoyed the shop workers for many days afterwards as kids were trying to buy sweeties with them! Vince said in an interview that when he was involved in making that film was the first time that he visited the Highlands! But yes, Thanks once again for making this wonderful tribute.
This is absolutely terrific. A lump in my throat and goosebumps watching this. This should have been a single 100%. What a fabulous job you have done Keith. Thank you so much for sharing.
