Mine is the same setup on a 2001, and the right signal in broken. You cannot imagine how much having this video is going to help me stay sane as I replace the broken one! Thank you, I owe you a beer!
Thanks so much for making this video . I had no clue how to change them . I have a 1997 Vulcan Classic 1500 and as soon as I get the lights in I'm going to change them both .
someone took my turn signals off of my bike before i bought it. I couldnt even figure out where they plugged in. I never thought to look inside the headlight. thanks for the video.
Thanks a bunch for video. Bike Master part number 26-2201 and 26-2202 fit fork of my '96 Vulcan 800. Could not do without this video. Dealer wanted to charge ~$300 for both sides. DYI is a lot cheaper, yes its a little of PITA, but second side went a lot easier then a first. One more thing - both ears of the rubber loop where aluminum insert goes should be in front of the metal bracket, and not on the other side. Thanks again for help!
thanks for doing this. my right turn signal broke off, and other one will soon due to dry rot. i used electric tape to hold it in place. i thought i was going to have to remove the handle bars and whatnot to replace the light, but now, after watching this, i am going to do it this weekend. THANKS SO MUCH! :)
Thanks for the video mate my bake is same year and colours here in Australia ... my rubber mount had cracked and indicator was hanging... rubber was disintegrating around the fork and had to scrape it off... got a new indicator coming but had to import. Will need to improvise until it arrives
An Aussie mate. I always wanted to go there. I throw boomerangs and kylies. I purchased some beautiful ones from a fellow named Josh K Skeen who lives there. A video I made of them. th-cam.com/video/jdbuIAAzUVs/w-d-xo.html. I have a Gail Nemeth whip too from Aussie. Yep that rubber will definitely dry rot on all the signal lights. I wish you well. G'day
Yep good video I was doing mine today 5/26/19 I poured Mystery oil into the Top of the Chrome and let it Run down the Fork covers to lube them up, really helped me a lot. Good to know I bought back Blinkers for the Rear 3 wire BY accident, so I'm ordering my fronts as soon well now. Later

Great video. I have almost the same bike as yours, V&H Longshots, I recently purchased a front light bar kit on eBay. The 2 lights that have the front turn signals that drop down below the passing lights. I was assuming that the forks had to be dropped down, now after watching this video, I'm thinking that the removal of the factory turn signals will go easy. Thanks again.
Hey Jim! Thanks for the comment. I would say if you have an older bike it might be worth it to replace both at the same time. They have a tendency to dry rot on the plastic.
GREAT video. been trying to figure out how to replace the turn signals on my 1996 Vulcan. What part number did you use? I went to the Bike Master site and dd not see any for the 96. thanks again for posting this it is very informative.
When you open up the headlight. Look at back end of it. You will see the slots where the colored wires are plugged into it. The new wires are plugged into those slots. Do one at a time replacing that colored wire. If you just want to find the running light, use a 12 volt wire tester on the wires. I hope that helps.
Bike Master part number 26-2201 and 26-2202 fit fork of my '96 Vulcan 800. You may have to order through Kawasaki dealership to get the right part number. I think I paid about 32.00 each.
Hey Vag! I ordered them from a motorcycle shop, You can find them new on ebay and amazon.com. www.amazon.com/Kawasaki-Motorcycle-Replacement-Kawasaki-K32001-001T/dp/B0035FW0GY
Thanks Gary! Awesome video, will save me hours trying to replace the broken turn signals!
You are most welcome. Take care and keep the shiny side up.
Hey Gary this was very helpful, need to replace my left signal for the longest time now. Thanks
Great! You might as well replace both. They seem to dry rot. I replaced my rear ones too later. One of them broke.
Mine is the same setup on a 2001, and the right signal in broken. You cannot imagine how much having this video is going to help me stay sane as I replace the broken one! Thank you, I owe you a beer!
Thank you my friend. I was clueless when I started on mine. There were no videos on it. I'm glad this will help you.
Thanks for the Video. I would never had tried to do it this way. But it worked great! Glad you posted this.
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad it helped.
thanks for showing me im from Missouri, my rubber crumbled to the touch after my blinker fell off the fork when i was riding it 👍
You’re welcome! Be safe!
Thanks! We replaced ours today and your video was the best guide by far.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Did the job in about 1.5 hours (used wire to help pull new parts through!) and all is well! You were a great help!
U just saved me a shit load of work, I was gonna drop the forks to get them off, thx a million

That's great. This old retro style bikes are fun and beautiful. Mine is made on the 1950s Harley Davidson model.
Hi Gary,
Where did you get the parts from?
I can't find it on Amazon and the OEM cost about $90.00.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
LP

@@knightingalesaid Thank you!
This was very helpful. Thanks for taking time to do this .
Good video, saved me some trouble, I was about to take my forks apart!
Awesome video, really helped and saved time figuring it out!! Thank you for posting
Glad that helped you 3D. You are correct on the rubber loop where aluminum insert goes should be in front of the metal bracket.

You're welcome Swick. It was a pain figuring them out to begin with.
Thanks tons. I have to do this to mine this weekend.
Thanks! I got to replace all 4. The repair manual was no help at all.
I have a video on the tail lights too. At least they are not too expensive and the rear are really easy to do. Good luck.
You're welcome bigashera! We have to keep the Iron horses going.
Thanks a lot. It worked great!
Hey Jim where did you buy the new blinkers
I don’t remember, it’s been awhile.
@@knightingalesaid i did some searching off the packaging i saw in the video and found it! Thank you sir

On the new lights, what color wire was the running lights and what was the blinker?

Hey, man great vid but where did you find these orignal turn lights? Could you sent a link? Mine are all broken (yes all 4! )

good info
Can't find instructions to change turn signals for my 2006 750 Kawasaki Vulcan
If its not like the 96 Vulcan, I dont
know, sorry.
Of course they'd have proprietary system for the indicators… couldn't just have a simple stalk setup that bolts on…
No kidding, I assumed it was a stalk set up on mine and just got a new set of lights in. Now to fab up some brackets I guess.
