    Sui: “What are the side effects of removing my wisdom teeth?”
    Dentist: “You might taste blood for a while”
    Sui: *”I said what are the side effects?”*

    Suisei: Doc, how do I fix my popping jaw?
    Dentist: that’s the fun part, you don’t
    Suisei: …
    Dentist: now, how’s about we rip some teeth out?

    btw for people that don't speak japanese it's probably best to explain why chat asked if she'd reported having her wisdom teeth taken out to her parents... wisdom teeth in japanese is called 親知らず which TLed literally means "unknown to parents" (as in "parents don't get to see them growing in" since they only grow into adulthood) thus the pun
    also I wish getting mine taken out was as painless as she makes it out, had to get general anesthetic and suffered from a ridiculous amount of mouth bleeding for a couple weeks

      @@DinnerForkTongue general is pretty common in NA. they probably get taken out more proactively in NA as well which also means when they're done deeper. I didn't have ridiculous bleeding for weeks but sore wounds that limited my diet heavily until they healed.

      I guess. I can only speak for my own experience: one WT, upper jaw. Got it torn out with just local numbing, and the extraction took a matter of seconds. Cool and good. 😄
      Doctor stitched my gum and I was only careful to avoid dry socket for like two days, then kept a limited diet for like a week after the stitching was pulled out.

      @@DinnerForkTongue yeah the four of them were basically growing sideways and close to the jaw nerve, plus the suture points on one broke like the day after thus the profuse bleeding

    I had a popping jaw and once my wisdom teeth were gone, it suddenly stopped popping.

    Wisdom teeth are probably the weirdest thing for a person, especially if it's impacted wisdom teeth (meaning it grows forward or diagonal). If untreated, this could lead to swelling, infection and bone loss. This can be very painful.
    Sometimes infections can lead to having to remove the affected teeth in front of it. Then you'll have to think of getting a bone graft, dental implant and the crown. It's a pain. That's why you should go to a dentist to get it checked and the doctor may advise on it. I wish i was more responsible with it.
    If you're able, get it checked so you can deal with preemptively and avoid complications in the future. Only a few will have it grow naturally and not hurt. Those are the lucky ones i guess. Also, disclaimer this is not medical advice, always check with your doctor.

      Should I remove them once they start to hurt me a little?

    • @goldentrout4811
      @goldentrout4811 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Kramer8 It's best for the doctor to advise you on that. They will first take an x ray of your jaw structure to see what the issue is. Ask them any questions about that and try to get as much information as possible.
      If they suggest to remove it, you don't have to do it right away. You can ask to come another day while you think about it and consult with your family if you can. It all depends on your feelings after that.
      The most important thing you can do is see the x ray of your teeth. That is the start.

    If Suisei's jaw has been making some popping noises, they could make for some ASMR

    I don't know how long mine took to get removed, but it required me being unconscious to get them carved out.

    She got her wisdom teeth out in 15 minutes? That seems really quick, even for just one side. Correct me if I'm wrong.

      Mine was about 20 mins, so I assume 15 is a fair range. Definitely would prevent any activities for Suisei tho

      The older you are when you get them out, the less big a deal it is. I had a teacher who got his out in his forties. No blood, no gauze, no meds. But usually you get them out super early cuz they'll push your teeth together and mess up your smile

    • @DinnerForkTongue
      @DinnerForkTongue ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Depending on the teeth's positions, the most it takes is for the numbing to take effect. I took out one about 2 years ago and it was out 40 seconds after the dentist started actually messing with it.

      eh, idk, my dentist told me that it took 15mins (they also said it was a good time) to remove both of the wisdom teeth in my lower jaw, so i'd assume it's rather normal

    • @to_cya_
      @to_cya_ ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine was 2-3 hours and about an hour of both situated in the lower jaw because they also laid inside my gum made it hard to pulled out. But for the case of the upper jaw it took around 15-20 mins because they already popped out from the gum.

    My jaw always had a small pop, but there are a lot of things that can make it worse. Like clenching while asleep or *smashing your jaw into the ground.*
    It's a pretty common condition, but there's no easy fix. That said, a custom mouth guard does wonders for halting or even slightly reversing the progess.

    For those curious or have jaw popping, I had her symptoms and would get lockjaw on occasion. Weirdly one day my jaw sorted itself out and hasn't popped since, so my issue only lasted about 4 years. Hopefully for Suisei, this just goes away like it did for me.

    The thing i hate about wisdom tooth removal is it depends on how lazy/trained the dentist is. I got lucky where mine actually was good at stitching so he stitched it up with disolvable string after. Ive had so many friends who just had it taken out and told its ok to let it bleed for the next 2 weeks
