Join me for a virtual trail run or virtual hike through forested hills to Gem Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, Colorado.
Climbing from the trailhead at 7,858 feet (2395 m) to Gem Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, we ascend 958 feet (292 m) in just 1.8 miles - a steep climb indeed!
Run and hike quickly through the aspen and pine forest with views across the park to the 14,259 ft (4,347 m) Longs Peak. Greet some sunrise viewers atop the outcrop of rocks high above Gem Lake just before arriving at this beautifully reflective pool of glassy water.

Great video Glen! It is a beautiful hike! I live about nine tenths of a mile from Gem Lake along Lumpy Ridge!! I watched this while using my treadmill this morning. lol 😂
