Glad that Solemn isn't sugarcoating it and denying that we are in a Tier 0 format. When the casters at the YCS said more than once that Snake eyes isn't T0, I was mildly loosing it.
That awful for the Belgium players. I live in the US and we have a primary election in my state today but a majority of the primaries are uncontested or not competitive so I don't feel like wasting my time. Forced voting is terrible
I think day 2 will start in the afternoon to accomodate for the elections. Belgium only does a top 16 (they're allowed top 32 but they barely ever do), so it's just 4 rounds to be played. The people for whom this really sucks is the people who are forced to work at polling stations. Granted, there's only a miniscule overlap between "people making top 16" and them, but the fact that it's even possible is horrendous. The idea of playing Nats in 1 day is an option that could be explored.
While obviously not everyone will make top16 and thus be affected, the fact that you now need to plan around the potential of topping (IF the organizers can even do this for you), is a massive burden. People also travel together, but now won't be able to EVEN IF the voting stations are open early enough. And finally; some queues in certain cities take HOURS, so you're still rolling the dice whether or not you can safely attend. Where I'm from, for example, I'm very certain I'll be in line for at least an hour. Having to go vote, be in a line that could very well take an hour or more, then sprint to a train station, then catch a train and then still make it for top16 is such a ridiculous undertaking (or even risk), it makes me consider going to a different nationals altogether.
Does it even matter that we vote? I mean, the current gouvernement is made from losers instead of winners. They seem to do what they want no matter if we vote or not 🤷♂️
Sounds about right. They were probably looking through the list of available dates and saw that one weekend was significantly cheaper than the others and just didn´t question that.
When it comes to National Tournaments on the same day as the Election, is there a pre-polling station where people who are not able to vote on the day of elections instead go to a pre-polling station in the week leading up to election day and cast their vote there instead???
Pretty funny for a company that makes their product in Belgium. Couldnt they just ask someone in the factory if there was anything important that weekend?
Snake Eye is the exact reason I switched from Yu-Gi-Oh to Pokemon. I like being able to actually have a turn without someone stopping me. There's no complex set up that takes 10+ minutes and if I have a full board, there's no Nibiru-equivalent to wipe my entire board off the table.
Lmao pokemon is the definition of solitaire. I only need to watch my opponent to see what cards he is playing and to make sure he doesn't cheat. There is 0 player interaction.

The pros spent probably 100+ hours (per person) testing the new format. They picked snake eye for the event and topped/won. These people don't just log casually onto db for 2 hours before their event. I'm not gonna cope myself into the 5 stages of grief. :/
If you do not vote, you have to pay a fine, the ONLY way to not vote would be to be actually working during that time frame, and even then, some employers are making sure you can go vote.
Worse than pointless, a low-information voter is actively bad for making decisions relating to politics. Think about it, if you were to make a financial decision would you rather ask 10 financial analysts, 100 people who are interested in economics but may or may not have official jobs relating to it, or 1000 random people on the street? Obviously you may have one preference but the reasonable answer would be "not the random people."

Hot Red is an omni negate. Yubel is not a competitive deck until phantom. Tenpai joining also is not an improvement to the format. If anything, it’s the opposite.
