AEW is getting $155 million a year, which is a lot of money, but that doesn't make AEW the second most profitable company in history. The money from this deal will barely cover AEW's talent budget, if it does at all. AEW has lost hundreds of millions of dollars in it's first five years of existence. Even with this deal, AEW is not even remotely close to being profitable, and it is highly unlikely that it ever will be. Tony's budget will continue to increase. Based on the fact that AEW is trending downward in nearly every available metric, does anyone think they are going to be bringing in enough viewers five years from now to get another deal like this? Does it matter? The contract is for 5 years. The khan have to meet their end of the deal or they be sue by wbd. So theyll be on tv for at least till than. Nobody really cares if a family worth 12 billions dollars is profitable or not, they want the wrestlers to get pay.

This is the current dictionary definition of the word "profit": a financial gain, especially the difference between the amount earned and the amount spent in buying, operating, or producing something.
This bought them a little extra time, but it sure as hell doesn't make them the second most profitable company ever. smh

Like many, I haven’t been thrilled with AEW’s programming for a while but I’m very happy they got this deal. I don’t understand those who want the only other game in town to fail. Any wrestling fan should be happy that wrestlers have leverage options and flexibility.
There's like a handful of people who want them to fail and not because they love WWE so much it's because Tony and the bucks are so annoying in how they conduct themselves. Every time you see an aew post on reddit or a video like this there's always an early comment to the likes of "here come the haters" of "watch them say how this is bad for aew" like, they're riling themselves up with a Boogeyman. If someone brings up a complaint hey fine but they're perpetrating their own anger most of the time
@@MattKellerthat’s the problem. You’re letting internet comments dictate your opinion. Wanting pro wrestlers to have less $$ options because randoms on reddit made you mad lol

Nobody wants the promotion to go out of business. Please learn the difference. We want it to not be a steaming pile of unintelligible horse 💩 💩 💩. It’s boring, the matches are unnecessarily dangerous, the booking is mentally challenged (or possibly the booker is). We want it to be good. It isn’t. 5 star bangers every week are boring. It needs decent storytelling. The ratings are dropping by the month. It needs to change.
@@youcantalwaysgetwhatyouwan8419 i agree with the storytelling bc it’s non/existent but I think people have their sides no matter what. Both places have their annoying things
i’ve been watching wrestling as a whole around 30 years and AEW for all 5 at this point, i’m happy they got a good deal and despite the flaws that have appeared in the company over the years i still enjoy their product more often then not. when you watch wrestling long enough you realize all companies go through good and bad booking periods but with enough time and money they can usually turn it around. now that AEW has the money i’m confident the product can improve and grow in new and exciting ways just like WWE has done for all these many years!
i love wrestling more then any one company so let’s celebrate another win for the industry and talents behind it 🍻

Does it matter? The contract is for 5 years. The khan have to meet their end of the deal or they be sue by wbd. So theyll be on tv for at least till than. Nobody really cares if a family worth 12 billions dollars is profitable or not, they want the wrestlers to get pay.
"when you're too smart to learn, you're dumb as shit" should be a bumper sticker.
$185m a year? That's huge! Congrats!
Now that can afford to pay fans to attend their shows.
What’s the vindication? A tv deal doesn’t mean profit. At all. It just provides a cushion to cover SOME of their insane operating costs. He’s overpaying talent, over-paying for everything from travel to production, over-booking on big arenas and barely selling a few thousand seats, viewership is in the trash, there’s nothing new here.
No chance that their revenue is over 300 million.
This is a good deal for AEW but any talk about "second most profitable company" when financials havent been made public is a 🤡 take. You can't infer profitability.
