      I've also heard somewhere that bull sharks tend to also produce a lot more testosterone than most other sharks, which may contribute to them being more aggressive. Though, it's from what I've read while looking at videos of salt water crocodiles and bull sharks milling about together, but I'll admit I don't know if that's a rumor from the comment section or if it's a legit thing from shark researchers.

    Their favourite hunting grounds are murky and shallow waters (rivers and coastlines), and they're called bull sharks because they ram you with their heads, though in the sharks case, it's more of a stun attack before the bite, or kill... unless you're a small fish...

    Fun fact. You are more likely to get injured/die in an elevator than a shark attack.
    The average use to be about 74 unprovoked shark attacks yearly but as of 2022 the average is as low as 57 per year. Meanwhile deaths are about 5 deaths yearly on average.
    Elevators on the other hand. 6 average deaths per year and over 10000 injuries per year.

    I’m from FL so sharks are a given at the beach but when my daughter was 3 I was standing while she played in the water where you first walk in and along comes this HUGE shadow (ended up being a bull shark) I walked on water that day 😅

    I'd rather swim with a Great White, my marine bio teacher always said if you have to swim with sharks avoid bull sharks whenever possible they choose violence more often then like 80% of other shark species.

    This would be much scarier if there was actually more pictures of bull, sharks, and less pictures of other sharks along with bull sharks. I counted at least one goblin shark. Bull shark’s jaws do not come out of their mouth like that.

    They were way up river by a park that I lived by when I was living in Australia. They like mucky water salt or fresh. And since the water is all muddy you cannot see them. Yikes 😬

    Be careful not to study on it to the point you give it the ability to swim backwards and don’t do this around hurricane season otherwise you have to hunt it down.

    To the idiot who got pulled into the water- dont disturb the water thats literally exactly what sharks are looking for. Even if they are not hungry, if something is in distress a marine predator will eat it (and some land ones), because food is scarce. Its bad that it happened but im not sorry, you should have known basic safety before going into a place with bull sharks, or any life for that matter.

    I take the appropriate measures every time I am near a Bull shark… step 1. it starts by staying on the dock, out of the water. I have never had to resort to step 2, which is flying.

    Funnily enough I saw a special on bulls that was based somewhere in Africa, I forget the name but it’s supposed to be infamous among fishermen since the sharks steal their catch as they are trying to bring it in and almost completely ignore humans

  • @ald7282
    @ald7282 ปีที่แล้ว

    the problem with bull sharks and humans is how they decide whether to attack or not. they ram into potential prey with their snout and if it doesn't fight back, the bull shark bites. they still won't eat a human, but can easily cause fatal bleeding.
