Try Christian Möhrle's sharpening technique: 1 - Radius all the way to the left 2 - Detail all the way to the right 3 - Masking as required 4 - THEN add Amount of sharpening. Change your life bro!
Impressive edit. Thank you, Merci beaucoup for sharing your tips. I use open source darktable which does not use any AI tricks and so does not need an internet connection. However, taking for example dodging the distant sky without affecting the buildings is very easily accomplished using drawn and parametric masks. Also, it has a very fast and effective retouch module that is similar to PS clone stamp.
I still don't see why so many folks are trying to find alternatives to PS and Lightroom. As the old adage says, you get what you pay for. PS and Lightroom just work without having to try and find workarounds. $20 a month is peanuts when it comes to top of the line photo editing. Less than $1 per day for something I know is gonna do the things I need it to do. I hear folks complaining all the time about Adobe raising the price by $5 if they don't opt for the annual plan. The price stays what it is now if the plan is upgraded to annual. If not, still only $5 extra for monthly plan. There are plenty of things that folks pay monthly subscription fees for that cost more than PS and Lightroom subscription, IE, phone, cable, to name just a few. Then there are the ones that just have to have their daily frappe latte at Starbucks for $7 or $8 for a cup of crap. As for having to be connected to the internet to use the AI features of PS and Lightroom, so what???? You have to be connected to the internet to stream NetFlix and we don't hear folks complaining about that. So to all the whiners, I say suck it up if you want the best industry standard software that's been around for over 20 years and just keeps getting better.
@@randymelton6096 Just because software is open source does not necessarily make it inferior. Darktable has a team of highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable professional programmers and photography professionals who continually develop and improve the software. Indeed in one respect the software is inevitably more secure than commercial software because so many very skilled professionals are developing it. Closed source software's weakness is that far fewer developers are keeping vigilant about possible security vulnerabilities.
@@bernym4047 Just saying open source software isn't for me, too many unknowns. As for security vulnerabilities, I've been with Adobe for over 15 years and no security breeches in that whole time.

Please make a video on composition also. It's very difficult sometimes to include and exclude something when taking a picture.
Most excellent 👍
So, so, very good! Thank you!
