    I used to be a big fan of the palomar until fluoro came on the scene. Since then I've switched to the uni-knot for most everything and have had good results. Love your channel and pulling for you on the Elite series!!

    Your fluorocarbon knot is called the double Pitzen. It is also called the 16/20, Jimmy Houston, and Shaw Grigsby also ties it. The San Diego jam is similar with the doubled line going through the loop at the hook eye before going through the top loop.

    Alberto and Albright seems like the same knot, I go with the Alberto for its simplicity, never had an issue if it binds down on itself correctly, for fluorocarbon and mono I use a trilene knot, clinch not on the board here

    I use the Palomar knot on mono and fluorocarbon and don't have any problems. I use the snell for flipping 100% of the time and either the double Palomar or the double uni knot for frogging. The double uni is the strongest knot imo.

    That jig knot is very similar for G-Man and Zona's favorite fluorocarbo knot. With their knot, I've bent out 5/0 hooks and the knot never broke. I trust what you do considering how good you are compared overall to the rest of the Elite field, I'm gonna try that droptshot knot for sure. I've had some problems with mine being strong enough for big smallmouth at times. I always burn the end of my braid with a lighter for my palomar knot for topwater and frogs.

  • @muskybites505
    @muskybites505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Best explanation of the pitzen, the logic behind it is a no brainer. And the snell I use the most. Always flipping. Try it when texas rigging though, my hookups seemed to increase when I did. And as always less snags cuz the hook stays upright mostly. But the pitzen is going into the rotation, thanks!

  • @johnnyweaver1300
    @johnnyweaver1300 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well the way you explained those different knots & showed how tie them is pretty straight forward, if someone wanted to learn them, I've used the palmer knot for years with no issues, but the knot that you tied fluro to braid looks simple enough👍

  • @kktx4058
    @kktx4058 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Well done… I tie the Double Pitzen as well for fluoro & the Palomar for braid. I prefer the Red Phillips knot for my braid to Fluoro leader… it is easier than the Alberto in my opinion.

  • @MrJohnB-qs6dp
    @MrJohnB-qs6dp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for sharing!!!👊🏻 I tie 3 out of the 4. The knot I use for braid to a leader is the Red Phillips Knot. Tried the FG and wasn't that impressed but really happy with the Red Phillips. Starting to use the fluorocarbon knot last year and had much success with that one as well. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!

    Grasshopper your leader to main line is a good one but, when you run down 7 or 8 turns you should run back up same amount of turns then when you run tag in through loop it should be twice, it has been proven after many casts that the braid will not slip by doing that , it may pay in a big tournament

      @@KyleWelcher My last name is I'm Joshua and my last name is Murphy so I will call it The Murphy Law Of Gravity Knot. Here is how to tie it bring your line through where you tie it make a loop come under over through the first loop do not sintch it down now yet start the other loop the same way over top of that loop then bring the loop and tag end through the you made below now the tricky part as you sintch it down make to put the tag end in your mouth and pull end with you lure or whatever you have tied on and pull it away from the tag end and you will notice the want to go together nice and let the line guide you to the knot then tighten them from each other until the knot is tight and there you go
