I used to go to the zoo and the science center all the time when I little and lived right outside St Louis. Man that area with the distinct green railing at 1:42 was the first area through the entrance and brought back a lot of memories
Thank you for the tour of the St. Louis Zoo. During the COVID-19 schools are closed and teacher's are zooming with classes to stay in touch during this pandemic. I'm surprising my class by taking them on this field trip to the St. Louis Zoo. So thank you for making this possible because some children don't have the opportunity to visit or attend any special places for learning and our field trips were cancelled, but now it's possible to continue their learning with your tour of this awesome zoo. Thank you!
Local here. Thank you for this video of our amazing zoo! I kind of wish you'd known to also visit the Butterfly House. It's a conservatory with 1500-2000 free-roaming butterflies and you can just walk around in it or sit down and look at the butterflies. There's also an insect exhibit. Were the peacocks not out at the zoo? It's been a few years since I've been, but there used to be a few peacocks just walking around the zoo.
Thank You for your kind words. I did not know about the butterflies, I would of visited the Butterfly House too. I didn't notice peacocks when I was there, it's possible I missed them.
@@TomsRoadTrippin they got rid of the peacocks some years ago, by got rid of I mean they sent them all to conservatories/sanctuaries. That was around the time the bird flu was spreading, most zoos around the country did the same.
I spend lots of time at the STL Zoo but they have only approved me to do just three videos there and two were at the Herpatarium so that was a win! Enjoy your tours.
My home zoo. Been here many times. Raja was born in December when we were off for Christmas break (many moons ago). Remember getting to go see him on a school trip he was so tiny.
i went to the st. louis zoo a few years ago but didn’t feel good that day so i didn’t get to experience any of it and i live 6 hours away so it was really cool to get to actually see what i missed that day!

I went there in 2022 and it is currently still 2022 but all the sharks there were nocturnal and I went there and by the time I saw them was like 4:30 PM or something like that and all the sharks were sleep so we only got to see the stingrays and I was so scared of them
It has been about 43 years since I lived in St. Louis and I remember just barely going to the zoo there and I wish that I could make it back someday soon. We lived at 10305 Page Ave. Overland, Missouri. I don't remember the zip code I was only 7 years old when we moved away. You could see the Arch from our driveway.
Really enjoyable zoo, I hope you find the time to go back someday. I visited the Gateway Arch on the same trip. That's a good memory you've got 😊 Thanks for sharing.
I did see the aquarium, it's near the end of the video. River's Edge is the last area I explored. You'll find the Missouri River Aquarium I believe it would be at the 52:00 mark. Thanks for watching
I had planned to visit the Toledo zoo on my road trip this year. I had to cut my trip short by 10 days as I got very sick. I'll get to them hopefully next year, I'm from FL so it's quite a drive.
