But the work was getting to be too much for me and so I got rid of the wood stove and now have a propane heater stove. Not nearly as good heat, but it still looks like a wood fire!! Can’t beat that price. Be careful how much soft wood you burn. The problem with it is it will add a lot of buildup in your chimney. One of my neighbours had a chimney fire because of this. Take care!

Hello Super Dave! Free wood is great!! Fortunately, I'm not stuck in the outhouse this morning! My family hid all my toxic Big J's food. Although I can't wait for lunch today ( Fired Baloney and kraft dinner) DRY DRY DRY seasoned firewood is the key. I burn lots of softwood in my outdoor furnace like pine, basswood, poplar, cedar, hemlock, and of course lots of dead Elm. I don't have to worry about chimney fires. Sometimes if I feel brave I soak my firewood in my Big J's prune juice, it helps draw the toxins out of the wood before you burn it. Great video buddy and now I hope you have a great Sunday where you can sit by your amazing cozy fire and dream of a nice warm tractor cab!

Good saving there! And especially that when you go harvesting free firewood, you do so with a gas sipping Corrola, so you don't waste more in gasoline with a huge pickup truck then what you would save in electricity bill. On my side, I went on HQ website to see how much I pay. I am not in equal payments, so it's a 2 month period. I can clearly see the 6 months where I heat with the boiler, the bill is half of what it is in summer! Yep! Middle of summer, my bill is rather 300$/month (peak is 750$ per 2 months). Reason is simple. Pool pump, AC, and water heater... While in winter, I don't run the pool and the water heater is idle because the glycol heats the water. But yet, a large house with so many laundry and cooking to do makes a huge difference on a bill! Thanks Dave!

We often burn softwood but we tend to let it dry for longer. That is a very good saving in electrical costs

That’s awesome that you get free softwood. I would do the same and burn soft wood during the day and birch or maple at night. That great that you cut your electricity usage in half.
