  • Staurogyne repens is an Easy category plant available from Tropica in 1-2-Grow cups, regular pots and self-service pots. Is doesn’t require strong light or CO2 injection to grow, but these will promote the most robust growth. It is characterised with its compact, low and bushy growth. It produces many side shoots which can be trimmed to promote horizontal creeping stems, and over several weeks or months it can form beautiful dense bushes.

    The in vitro version is so superior to the pot version. The plants grow up looking better and you get much more stems for your buck.

    Hi George and the Tropica team. I have a suggestion: I would like to see what those plants grow like in the wild so it can inspire me to set up the best way for optimal health. What do you think? Thank you for these nice spotlights.

    Not grown it..but these kind of plants,- like Star grass also?..do make carpets for large aquariums. It's a matter of scale. In nano tanks it might be a small bush in looks...in hundred or hundreds of gallons it looks short,carpet like even at 3" tall.
    I've been thinking of giving this plant a try for awhile now.

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right Stan, in a large aquarium they can easily turn into a fluffy carpet, and they're easier to grow than a Hemianthus for example. Let us know how it goes if you decide to try it out.

    Mine developed black beard algae and spread,I tried treating it with liquid co2 which worked but killed few leaves. But one thing I noticed is that it doesn’t grow,have it about a month and no change, get diy co2 (I know not great but works for all other plants), got stratum, and tropica frets and tabs. I don’t know what to do. Any tips?

    I have around 10 to 12 discus fish with fern and anubias in it. But I want move the rock settings around the tank and add hairgrass plant as the carpet. So should I remove fishes and rearrange or can I keep fishes in tank itself?? If you suggest to remove fishes and rearrange than after how many days should I put fishes in tank and when to start feeding.

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on both the size of the tank and the extent to which you'll affect the aquarium's balance; if we're talking "rescaping" levels than you ought to wait until it stabilizes (1 to 2 weeks)

      Ammania does that also..almost every time in a non Co2 tank. Could be not enough iron. Iron seems to be a great cure for what ails plants..THEN when you add the right ferts that healthy green plant can grow much faster.
