Hey man I’m the author of the crafting skill potion mod. About 5-6 weeks ago while you were sort of taking your break and stuff so I updated the potion mod so it now has some INI options. One of them allows you to hold R to display a radial menu to end the potion timer so you don’t have to sit around and wait on it to end. Hey so 2 things 1 the amargs taming mechanic MAYBE getting a slight change/buff 2 I learn that sinos can put the fear of God into bats so don't be afraid to have him on auto aggro scream when caving He really helped in the labyrinth
I've noticed that amargasaurus don't actually increase damage each time they attack but rather different animations for the left click attack deal different amounts of damage; Bite deals the least amount, head swipe deals a little more but inflicts the debuff from the spikes (fire, ice, or amour breaking), stomp deals more damage than the others, tail swipe deals about the same as headswipe. Only the headswipe inflicts the spike debuffs.
Syntac I saw u were confused as to why u were freezing the stego at the end of the video, when u use the neck attack (left click) the effect u have on will also work on them not only with shooting
When I did amargasaur mutations I got an orange body with a magenta sail, I felt like creatures like the amargasaurus had really vibrant sails for intimidation which makes sense in my mind so a blandish color with a vibrant color on the sail would look really cool

So about the Amargasaurus spike mechanics I think that they should make that like it is in hunted where you need to hold that slot to retrieve that resource. It will make much more sense bcuz You are gonna be able to get their spikes from dead ones.

The head/face of the baby amarg really gives some uncanny valley effect. Like they used somebody's face as the texture for it and just stretched n pulled it into shape. It's quite disturbing. 🤣😂🤣

Hey syntac, here is something you might have not known. If you shoot the ice beam in first person you will be able to hit slightly further than u can in 3rd person perspective.
Please read the wiki page on the amargasaurus. You've already voiced your confusion about some of its attacks. It's a complicated creature, so I can't explain how all of it works here, and the wiki will explain it better than I can.
On the Christmas event I got one of raptor clauses presents and got my first two chibis since the lost island update and I got an amargasaurus and a zombie wyvern

When you hit a creature while a certain spike is equipped causes the creature to be affected by that spike thus hitting a creature while ice spikes are equipped will freeze the creature slowly each hit

I trapped a Alpha rex, and was taming 2 amargasaurus, after I tamed the 1st, on official, and a GM, get in the way and made the Alpha rex jump out of the sign, and I had it over there already more than 2 hrs already. He really went overboard.
I totally forgot that the quetz can pick up such large creatures. I am glad to see this using an alpha to tame I always wondered about this and actually asked to see if it would be a better tamed aalso using those metal billboards is a great idea something occurred to me does that Amargasaurus get an alpha buff from the rex and if so would it make it harder to tame it?
Syntac, I think you should build a fountain in the centar of the castle. PS: You are my favorite youtuber, and I was jumping on my bed for 5 min. straight.👍
Honestly if there is enough room I the towers for what you need just keep the middle for keeping dinos then it can always be changed later if you need more space to build things
When you attack with the amarga it uses the effect your selected for the spikes The armour peircing one doesn't change jt, but cold will slowly freeze and heat will burn whatever your hitting
@@ducky2379 i mean when you just attack with the standard hit. It lights them on fire or slowly freezes them when you basic attack. Its just incredible slow and only really takes effect against bronotos and such
@@dinovader2231 Yeah but that's incorrect. Only the front facing attack applies the spike effects. The tail whip and stomp do not. You're right that it's slow though, and if your melee is high, you might just end up killing the creature before actually freezing it or setting it on fire.
btw according to my knowledge the Amargasaurus has 4 color regions: the body/underbelly, frill, frill pattern, and a hard to see top pattern on the sail I think
The pigs take more damage in the jaw because pigs in real life have a soft spot there, the top of their heads is actually one of the worst spots to hit and most of their hide is so thick it’s very hard to break through

It was aggroing to your tames even when you're synced up i found that out the hard way leaving my tame close and getting off without trapping the Amar. It destroyed my tame before i could get back
Do not mean to sound rude here but I know how to trap an alpha rex and didn't need to watch a video on how to place billboards around it, its pretty straight forward in my opinion lol
I feel Ark in general has a bad loot issue, at least on single player. Give us more rare things for big wins over caves and alpha kills. Hell, give us stuff to find on the map, a bit like Valheim maybe.
In the center of the castle, why not build a small town inside to put different crafting tools in. Not as convenient as everything in one room but I think it’d look and feel really cool
Use a normal Rex not an alpha. You also need a tamed turtle as bait. You set the turtle at the front of the trap. Then the Rex will attack the turtle then you trap the Amara a bit further from how you had it. Then you will need a bunch of dodos as a sacrifice to heal the Rex when it gets low on health. It should take 5 or so minutes if you use a 180 Rex.

If it’s not rideable it’s fear-able. Either you ride it or the sino scares it.

Make like a wall around all the taming area. Enclosing the rex and Amarg, and keeping others out. Perhaps spiked walls.

I thought alphas didnt eat corpses because it would be a pain in the ass to kill them if they ran around and fully healed all the time.
That is the reasoning. Them not eating caps them from being too hard.

I used Amargas for the boss and they did amazing, same damage as Dinopithecus but a much larger hp pool and they take saddles.

If you are tired of getting stun locked with the dinopithecus just jump and use the secondary attack :)

If you ever install Ark Additions Deinosuchus can be found at the swamp kinda near the plains area swamp, and around the little castle island
You could put tek stuff in the middle 9f the castle, when you get to that point
