I live in New Zealand, when I was young I used to get Big Bike and Choppers magazines whenever I could,I remember the Motor Shop ads, just a small ad mentioning that they specialised in 80 inch parts, and we're in Oxnard,Ca.This has stuck in my mind for many years......

Thanks for this episode Mr Christie. Looking forward to more. As a kid who blew their allowance on chopper magazines in the 60's and totally drank the Easyriders kool-aid and became a Harley rider/owner in the 70's and beyond, the motorcycles fascinated me. Was never an outlaw or a club member, but just being part of the HD/motorcycling fraternity back then, by proxy you were part of the sub-culture. Fun times.

Saturday morning n coffee with George! Man.. he’s gotta do like a multi season series of his inside n out of the outlaw underworld. Not a sons of anarchy b.s. but his life’s journey in the m.c. With situations like having to get his frame n tins back.. how he goes alone with his shotgun like a man n gets his shit back! The dice game n gets a bike.. I know millions of people would watch it, and the merch would bring in cash also, a film of his life basically. That’s what people really want, real shit from real people… Wish I had the cash to produce it bc I absolutely would. It takes a set of real nuts to go alone to someone’s house you’ve got major beef with, plus I can’t imagine the talk going around within people do in situations like that you know once you see that person you’re beefin with, or he sees you it’s fkin on full tilt. I myself have done this twice, I went alone and knock on the dudes door, I hear about 4 or 5 of the others he always hangs with inside that house.. drinking n carrying on about what ever it was they were talking about and none of them like me either and im not from their side of town as well n i might possibly wind up fighting not only the 1 guy im got the issue with but all 5 lol, fk it! I was more than ready to really ready for whatever ever happens.. I believe someone looked out n saw me, I’m not saying in Billy badass but they never came to the door! N I pounded on the door n stood out there for about 10 mns. I know they peeped out the window blinds and saw me there and I’m sure now looking back they all would have jumped in once I started warmin the dudes head up I had beef with but ya know what, there comes a time when you just don’t give a fk what happens and I didn’t. Good or bad I was so ready n to be honest about it I was quite disappointed they didn’t come out man but sometimes you just gotta warm a shit talker’s head up! Again, I’m not Billy badass but I will say I know that feeling going alone, facing a very dangerous unknown situation and that’s part of becoming, or being a real fkin man in my book… n I felt never more badass after I did it bc the word spread on both sides of the town n I got even more respect, doubled my reputation and the fear of fkin with me grew even more also which when dealing with people that are great with their hands, guns.. a knife is more than not a good type of reputation to have, but you also better be able to back that reputation up. It was a major rush , talk about an adrenaline dump! I was ready to do the unthinkable, I excepted the absolute worst possible outcome, I was willing to die! n I faced it head on n it changed me for the better I believe. I was 18 or 19 then. So Stand yr ground… right! Even if yr a little fk like me. That was back in 89 n I was fresh out of a boys home ready n willing to tcob! N I did. I’m sure most of you have 2👍 now I’m 55 and I can still handle situations if need be. But also I’m so much wiser and I know when and when not to, that’s important.. staying out of jail is top priority lol. There’s only mostly ignorant guys in there, no women! Fists or lips! You gotta to know when to use them and when not to. Violence isn’t always the solution, sometimes it’s a must unfortunately. Being a man, one with real honor is a must.

Nothing shady about it. 40 years ago there was no issue with that and it was not uncommon to replace a case half. Now there would probably be problems.

I'm not an authority on Prankster, or Grateful Dead History. I have read a lot of material. I would also clarify that it may have been Kesey who gave the moniker to Laurence Shurtliff ? Sources differ on this. The story goes that Kesey was on the lam in Mexico w/ Pranksters. Shurtliff met up at some point. Kesey and some others wanted to travel to another town to see where a film was shot. They had 7 people and a VW Bug. Shurtliff announced himself as Ramon Rodriguez, Mexican tour guide at your service. He proceeded to ram 7 people in the VW and away they went. His name was Ram Rod from that point. He became the Head roadie, and later he was elected to President of the board for Grateful Dead Productions. He was well respected. I hold him in the highest regard.

Anybody who likes to tell George that he is wrong about his stories. Needs to really take a step back. He is a walking historian, and remember he was doing shit when most of you were either in diapers or wishing you were part of 81 and the stories that were being told. Be humble take it all in instead of ranting on something you really don’t know what YOU are talking about. 💀
