Alberta Reid practice makes perfect! I've been doing hair since i was 5 watching mom! Getting paid to do hair in the bathroom in high school I'm 29 now graduated cosmetology school hopefully have my own shop one day
For those keep asking why she is wearing fake hair. Well, some ppl like to wear protective styles to keep their hair thick and healthy from the breakage of combing and curling you're natural hair daily. Also some ppl like versatile looks that last for days so they don't have to bother with combing their hair, esp those with a busy work life. Lastly, she's doing a TUTORIAL to show others how to create styles, not necessarily meaning she would wear this style or wear weave all the time. Now stop asking. You sound rude and quite annoying. Btw, I thought the video was useful, as intended. Keep up the great work. 💗
+Javier Cooper that is the real reason. Natural curly hair tends to be fragile and break easily. Too much manipulation of natural hair can increase breakage. Hair growth is triggered more when you wear protective styles for some. And each black girl has a different texture. Some is kinky curly or even wavy. Not all textures are the same. Why comment on something you know nothing of? You don't have natural hair nor are you black. So it would not make sense logically for you to comment on this topic
Javier Cooper Dude chill. We don't hate our "nappy" hair, it just takes a lot of work, and some people genuinely don't have time to care for it, but don't want their real hair to end up damaged so they wear protective styles. Also protective styles help grow and protect our hair while allowing us to explore different lengths textures colors etc. You sound very ignorant about this topic, hope you get more educated and realize everything isn't a self hate thing. There are women of EVERY race who wear weave, but no one ever comes for them😒
This comment section gets on my nerves. Black women always get it bad when they want to cover their hair for PROTECTIVE STYLING but when white people curl their hair, wear wigs, sew ins, and braids it’s considered fancy and chic.
Your natural hair was so long and luscious! You’re protective styling methods are seriously top notch. Also, you’re arm strength. When I just do plaiting my arms get tired, I can’t imagine doing so many tiny rows of hair like you.
why would anybody bring race in this comments section.... white women (and women of all color for that matter) change their hair: color, style, texture... you name it. Why would it be any different for black women?! EVERYBODY changes their look from time to time (including men). This lovely young woman took her time to share something that she thought you'd enjoy... if you don't, then move on. But you have to admit she looks fantastic...!!! What woman wouldn't want to do this if they could look as good as she does?! Jealous much?
Sometimes it helps to be silent. Ppl. Like and sometimes thrive on reactions from others that disagree with them. They steer up confusion from the simplest things because of immaturity and small ways of thinking. They can't help themselves.
Nice job all these comments why this why that?? It's a crochet style not a sew in less expensive less time. I like how she showed her installation. Maybe her hair is long from wearing crochet braids.....why hate or try to find flaws instead of learning something. Wearing hair is a trend bald or not. Great job young lady!!!!
☺️ I can’t believe she did not even know how to cornrow less one year prior to making this video! (I just read where she typed that 4 years ago, to encourage those of us who wish to learn or improve.)
1. I wish I could braid my own hair. 2. Anyone bringing "race" into this is ignorant and they need to worry about their life. 3. Her natural hair tho 😍😍😍
I am seriously binge watching your videos! I understand why you wear weaves(which has absolutely nothing to do with self hate), the proof of the wonders and benefits of wearing protective styles is clearly in your natural hair which you proudly flaunt on a regular basis! Your tutorials get through to me in such a way that no other TH-camr has. And for the first time in my history of wearing weaves I am able to actually entertain the idea of installing my own weaves(may God help me!). I took down my weave not too long ago and noticed a significant amount of growth that I would not have noticed if I was constantly styling and manipulating my natural hair. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. You are truly beautiful inside as well as outside. To be as young as you are and to have such a keen knowledge about hair is truly a blessing. I wish you the very best in whichever direction you decide to go in life.
Its embarrassing how many BLACK women dont know what protective styles are... and how damaging something as simple as the sun can be to natural hair...
Man, I can't braid down on my scalp worth NOTHING!!! Amazing job! You're hair is so long and I can see why with all the protective style techniques you have.
Thank you so much for this Seun, your natural hair is so amazing, I'm Nigerian and I'm tryna get my hair to that level, wow. The tutorial was very helpful, your patience and clarity in explaining is great, thanks again

Thank you for doing this tutorial.❤️ I’m going to be doing a crochet on my natural hair in a month, but a curly straight style and didn’t know how I’d get my middle part to look natural without a leave out 🙏🏾

BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I didn't know what to do with my hair. I wanted it straight but I didn't want to put a sew in and perm my hair and damage it. This is perfect. You have a new Subcriber!❤
Thank you for this! I managed to do straight crochet braids for the first time. It did take me 8 to 9 hours though from the braiding part to finishing but I guess patience is required for these styles!
Sorry I also meant to add that you are well spoken & as a lady of color also that IS important we Do NOT need slang to get the point across again 😄 great job
I am in awe of your work. This protective style looks a lot like your natural hair. It gives you a break from needing to comb your hair. I love it. My natural hair is really thick and getting longer, I'm ready to put in in a protective style for the winter.
And the fact that she did this quickly braid in the back of her head is mine blowing. She did all of that like perfectly What I can't see back there I can't do I'll be all mangled in my own hands🫣🤣🤣
Seun you are so skilled at doing hair, and your natural hair is beautiful and long (perfect care!). I understand that you retain length like that, I used to perm and braid, had a beautiful head full of hair that I could perm whenever I wanted or let curl for a while...enter some friends that want me permed for a wedding, I go to the hairdresser and see my hair disappear in the sink, my scalp and forehead were burnt. After a journey in natural hair, bald, locs for years, natural hair again, I realized that my hair is like yours, it grows, it is ok with the perm (actually better growth), and braids, weaves, crochet work well to fit my versatility and retain length and strength. This you, this is me and others... it is ok, every hair is different. Thank you for the inspiration and tips.
so i ordered this hair. it's gorgeous. but the brown #2 i ordered came in and it's jet black. i was so sad . i'm hoping that they have actual brown because this hair is amazing in person. i've sent the seller a message. crossing my fingers! thanks for the recommendation seun
This is a TUTORIAL! She could've taken the hair out the following week for all we know, regardless that's not the point. This video was put up for people to take what they want from it. MEANING you can tweak it to fit how you would want it to look. The technique is beautiful and gives an alternative to sew-ins especially for people who can't afford the maintenance of a sew-in or live in an area where black hairstylists are scares.

OK so I came here because I wanted to learn how ppl put on crochets but I ended this video more impressed with your patience and motivation to keep going bcuz Jesus this seems very time consuming. Thank you for vid.
Seun, you are my hair crush!!😍😍 You're natural hair looks as good as the crochets. I assume you're putting crochets in as a protective style or you just like them? Very beautiful!
I watched one of your videos and you talked about wearing protective styles for upto three months please can u talk about the maintenance within those three months and how to deal with dandruffs and itching during those three months
i thought the ones with the preloop band on them u just pull the rubber band tighter so u dont have to double knot it and it looks more natural.. cause i was gonna get those but im just curious cause if the prelooped band ones are like that i dont like dat.. but ur hair looks nice hun
When you got finished it looked really good. You sure spent a lot of time to get the look. I just wanted to complement you by saying that your natural hair looks really nice as well!👍
wow I've never knew it was so many ways to do braids and weaves crocheting im still watching the videos for now trying to decide what kind will suit my head and looks.THANKS.
U did a great job. The black loop holding the hair is the security to make it tight. U need to pull it down about an inch before u start to crochet ur hair in, when its in and u have wrapped it around to make ur single knot, slide the black security tie back up as close to the cornrow as it can go. That will secure the hair in place and not slip at all. 😄 Over all, FANTASTIC JOB!
The very nice tutorial you stayed right on point you paste yourself and you did it in a fashion to where people couldn't understand you you didn't have to go through all these different products very simplistic very good thank you so much
I ❤❤❤ it! You are doing a great job. I have long hair as well and many don't understand why I love crotch styles but I have to protect my hair. I may try this next 😊
Thank you so much! I tried this method to today, on loose crochet hair and it worked! The hair I used was really soft, but it began to loosen. So I split the bottom half of the strand and tied it in a knot. If that makes sense. However, this method works beautifully and I’m definitely using it in the future. ❤
I love this. I've been trying to wear new colors without buying a wig I may never wear again or dyeing the wigs I already have and this just comes in handy. Thank you.
You are so young girl, how you learn such techniques like that

When you got finished it looked really good. You sure spent a lot of time to get the look. I just wanted to complement you by saying that your natural hair looks really nice as well!👍
Oh thank you!
You are so cute. You remind me of my friends daughter. Keep up the good work!
This was a perfect up close tutorial!

wow I've never knew it was so many ways to do braids and weaves crocheting im still watching the videos for now trying to decide what kind will suit my head and looks.THANKS.
(: glad to help!
This really important! Can you flat iron it, curl it with a heat and do a twist out with it??? And if you flat iron it does it frizz?
You are a princess. You have hair and it's prettier than the other hair. . Very well spoken as well. 🙏🙏
You already have long beautiful hair! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome😊
Sometimes we just wear weave when we dont feel like taking care of our real hair
Out of all the videos I have seen on how to do crotchet this is definitely the best one it helped very much 😘
Glad to help!
Make sure to show us show us how it looks after a while😜❤️

Wow, even though you already have extremely long, pretty hair. That weave looks like your real hair. Very pretty.😍😍
Thank you so much!
I may have missed it but... how many packs of hair did you use here?

This briading pattern is so helpful. I have thick long hair like you and not a lot of youtubers who crotchet have that type.
Glad to help!
Que lindo ficou esse acabamento, Eu gostaria muito de usar um cabelo desse mais no momento estou sem condições, mais Amei a colocação dele 😘
😄 Over all, FANTASTIC JOB!
thanks for the extra tips(:
Seun no problem at all. I love doing hair. Its my profession and I always love to help. U really did a great job. 😄
Your results look great!!! Great protective style looks very natural and i ❤️ your technique!!!!
Thank you!(:
I adore using protective styles as well, but I loved your actual hair. It's healthy and beautiful!!
Thank you!
how many packages of hair did you use
Six packs
Seun beautiful
This is what I was looking for. Thanks for asking this question.
@@SeunOkimi what kind of hair
The very nice tutorial you stayed right on point you paste yourself and you did it in a fashion to where people couldn't understand you you didn't have to go through all these different products very simplistic very good thank you so much
I ❤❤❤ it! You are doing a great job. I have long hair as well and many don't understand why I love crotch styles but I have to protect my hair. I may try this next 😊
Thank you! Good luck
Thank you so much! I tried this method to today, on loose crochet hair and it worked! The hair I used was really soft, but it began to loosen. So I split the bottom half of the strand and tied it in a knot. If that makes sense. However, this method works beautifully and I’m definitely using it in the future. ❤
Wow great job. Beautiful!
Thank you!!
This was very helpful. I purchased the hair but I was having a problem with it being very loose. Now my look is great. Thank you.
I want my hair done 💁♀️ like that’s
thanks, good luck
Even before putting the hair on just heard doing the braids and then the one braid around the top was beautiful👌👌👌😍😍🥰🥰 She's amazing❤️👑👑👑
You look a lot like Gabrielle union!

I love this. I've been trying to wear new colors without buying a wig I may never wear again or dyeing the wigs I already have and this just comes in handy. Thank you.
