    LOL The microchip reader. You have cats! I have cats and they will just jump the gait when they want in and out. I love the gait and the way you slide it back and forth.
    Come to think of it, that microchip door could come in handy to keep the dogs out of the litter box!

    Wow excellent job man! I've never heard of that chip reader cat door, very good idea. Love your use of aluminum and walnut, it's a cool contrast.

    You must have a steady hand. Even in those 3” cuts with the bandsaw I need the fence. Another great project!
    How did you secure the aluminum plate to where the latch goes? Epoxy?

      I try, but I'm often not perfect with it. Thank you very much.
      I actually did not secure it there. It's laying in there from the top so beyond having a little bit of a friction fit at the bottom I didn't feel an urgent need to secure it. If I'm building one for children I would most likely drill out a hole and use a countersink drill bit to put a screw in there that would be flush.
