I'm not a Kenyan by birth, but since the day i first arrived on May 9th 2014, Kenya has always felt like home to me, during the past five years, i married the most beautiful woman i have ever met, we both started our own business, we built a house in Kilifi County, and we have been blessed with the birth of 2 beautiful daughters, in fact when i am in the Netherlands and i see Kenya on the news or in a documentary, i get tears in my eyes and i feel homesick.
I always remember the day we recorded this piece! The Kenyan story so passionately told!! Congrats Girls! Joost, you did a very fine piece of work at you B' Ware recording Studio in Nanyuki.
dint realise am this emotional about my country ...My land is Kenya, right from the highlands to the sea..you will always be here in my heart..cant wait to board the next KQ n come home for christmass :)
While I was away in 2018, I would listen to this over and over again, tearfully, recapturing the richness of my land...Kenya. I would replay the National Anthem too, and Swahili Gospel online. I love Kenya!
Neither was Rodger Whittaker the original singer of the song :) but in those days all the music was made by white settlers who made it their adopted home. Many Kenyan born people like myself live in other countries... but there is only one place you were born.
Great piece. Kenya has talent. Am glad that we now have leaders who will expose these talents to the entire world. Leaders who will see to it that the writer, the artist, the actor, the singer, designer and everyone else gets what is rightfully theirs. May the Lord bless you all in your leadership.
Amazing. Nostalgic.I can never get enough of this....these beautiful angels did justice to this masterpiece!Congratulations!Kenya is the only home I know !
You girls are a national treasure, because you make us Kenyans to be so proud. Your humility even makes me more proud. God Bless you, your parents for doing such a wonderful job in raising you and GOD Bless Kenya.
I absolutely love my land, Kenya. I have nothing but beautiful memories of my childhood in the village, then adulthood in Nairobi😊😊😊. I hope & pray I’ll not have to move to any other place, unfortunately that seems like a possibility.😏

I second you MWW Please upload the whole ceremony because amazingly the Kenya power and lighting company never fails to disappoint when we need them most.
That song was written by Roger Whittaker upon his return to Kenya after he became a renown world singer. Those young ladies would maker him proud to sing it that well. I agree with the commenter who suggested they caption their names. Having lived in Kenya for many years I would guess they are all Masai.
Its a beautiful song but tears came to my eyes when I saw that beautiful elephant and just to imagine that the poaching levels will decimate them in the next ten years!!!We may never enjoy the sight of an elephant in our land of Kenya.
I think it's important to understand that no matter who our leaders are, we are still Kenyans. Your comment just goes against what people are trying to stand for right now, which is peace.
Team Uhuru kindly upload the entire Inauguration ceremony on You Tube. My humble request. Some of us would did not have a chance to veiw the entire ceremony that day. Thanks

If this was received in the 1960s airwaves, it would have been the national anthem straight away❤
