great video, however with your example of sawing the 2in limb, on both saws you never went past 8 in of pull on either saw. so why carry a 21in saw that never gets to use the full 21 inch. length?? just my opinion.
Hey one thing to think about is a 12" hacksaw blade works fine for multipurpose, ie bone saw or metal cutting. I haven't seen a 21" hacksaw blade. Good video, just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the review. I think the Gerber is just going to be too small for any serious backpacking. By the way, you have the perfect voice to be a baseball commentator, radio dj, or something of that nature. God bless you back!
Ha! Thanks D K, I agree with you completely on your analysis of the Gerber. Regarding the vocations for me that you've recommended... I've actually dabbled in all of them. God is good! Thanx for your comments!
Save your back by tying two poles together to raise the cutting piece higher off the ground. This also gives you better stability to hold the piece while cutting and the poles will act as a cutting fence so you do not cut your your stabilizing hand.- and may give you a few more seconds reaction time while a bear is sneaking up behind you. But you won’t get far in those sandals... if you want to get respect in the outback, you’re gonna need a good pair of boots and some heavy duty pants... and get yourself some dogs, and some bear spray.
SOUTH PAW!! haha I'm a lefty too brotha! Good job on the comparison I enjoy having a budget tool and a high end one also, can't beat both saws cheers!!(=
@@darrellintents3086 i really like the Husqvarna axes they are the best bang for your buck i own a smaller carpenter's axe and a larger one, for splitting firewood though ive been wanting to buy the Estwing fireside friend that seems to be a real contender!!(=
Hi I understand you be using Joes camping song! Can't wait to see your video! I used one of his songs in my video as well! he's just the best singer and should be a superstar in my books. I have to check out some more of your videos as well oh. Are you close to Fordland Missouri? I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling or pronunciation. My grandpa moved as a child from missouri to Canada.
Hi Mr. Bug Pop, Joe graciously offered that I use "Come with Me" on my channel but I told him I was confident that most everyone associates that song with Steve Wallis. Joe is amazingly gifted and I really enjoy his Thurs PM deck concerts! Fordland is very close to Springfield in South/Central MO. I'm up in NW MO. Any room for additional Missourian's? Things are pretty crazy down here!! :)

Awesome comparison video! Just what I was looking for!

Great suggestion! Thanx for sharing!
Should also cover the depth of cuts. You can cut a drastically larger diameter log with the 21".
I have the Gerber and prefer it for backpacking due to bulk

They make a Boreal 15 that's 15oz. That's 1/2 oz more for an extra 3 more inches.

Clearly Canadian, we could actually be brothers!
Clearly Canadian, what kind of axe do you recommend for bushcraft?

Mr. Bug Pop deal!!! 🏕👍🏻🎶👊
That is some nice PPE you are wearing. Where can I get some of that protective footwear? HiHi
Ha! you can get your very own Eddie Baur River Sandals where ever fine footwear is sold!!! :)
You have replacement place that you can order with with this brand but not with gerber
The big difference is that with the Boreal you do not have to touch the blade at all.
Bigger logs with 21inch
Right on!
bigger logs? chainsaw
Ha! Right on!
BORE-REE-AL.
Right on Vladimir Doig!
Sir, you are totally incompent with saws. Work with a good carpenter/joiner for some time and do the video again.
I’m assuming you mean incompetent. Thank you for the counsel.
@@darrellintents3086 I'm incompetent with touch-typing and/or my second language. Nobody is perfect :-/.
Right on!
This made me laugh so freaking hard!!!
