With electrical systems susceptible to electric shock, static, and or any form of electrical discharge, or from an EMP, how will an electric plane handle direct strikes by lightning?

ALL, yes ALL, of these "eVTOLs" will go bankrupt. They all failed to understand the problem and the business model is silly in the extreme.
New distributed combustion tech makes ALL EV tech (car, airplane, boats, houses) obsolete. It is 60% at pull power and 75% in cruise. 3 HP/LB at motor. EV motor + battery is 0.25 HP/LB... Active Drag Reduction (1/2) enabled by engines, not with EVs. The drag can be up to 8 times less than EV craft.
Door to door is key. All eVTOLs cannot afford the weight to be roadable like this combustion tech can. 0 to 360 mph. 125 gallons gives 15,000 mile range at 120 mph, 3750 miles at 240 miles, 2400 miles at 300 mph, 1666 miles at 360 MPH. No EV can come close by 100:1.
CO2 is 200 times less with RE fuels vs a 100% RE grid. On gasoline it is 3-4 times less CO2 than an EV.
This airplane concept fails on many levels. Yes, I will debate you on it anywhere.
Just a friendly hint. Heads up. You will lose all investment into eVTOLs.

Please supply evidence to support your claim that this new ice of yours could power the flight of that aircraft and enable it to travel 15000miles using only 125 gallons of fuel .

@@nikcook4298 Wind tunnel data of previous models show 3.2 square feet flat plate drag. With New combustion tech at 60% efficiency and 120 mph, it is 1 gal/hr at 120 mph. 125 gal x 120 MPG = 15,000 miles.
With active drag reduction (boundary layer control tech) the drag can be as low as 1.6 sq ft (in theory), which would allow ~30,000 miles on 125 gallons. Useful load (2000 LB) allows 5 people and 125 gallons. At 360 MPH and 13.3 MPG the range is 1666 miles.
A VTOL version allows 0 to 360 MPH and costs 2x more. An Air Taxi version is 25 to 360 MPH which is roadable door to door. VTOL is NOT wanted or needed in 99% of cases.
      Again, no EV can compete.

@@seaplaneguy1 there are no ice powered 5seater aircraft that have fuel consumption as low as 120miles/gallon. There aren't even any single seat planes that can achieve that kind of efficiency - that's according to the official data from the manufacturers shown on website for use by the aviation industry .
15000mile fuel tank range for a small 6 seater aircraft is something that isn't realistic or practical either. Even having a 1000 mile flight in a 6 seater traveling at 120mph is a ridiculously long time in the air for passengers and a pilot to undertake.

@@nikcook4298 This is new technology. It is not a 1940s remake from some EAA homebuilder.
An ICE engine (O-360) is ~25-28%, perhaps 30% lean of peak. Diesels are 42%. Boeing 787 turbine cores at 27:1 expansions are 55%. This new engine tech is distributed power (lots of motors like EVs have) with combined cycle and CO2 capture. Full power is 60% with 81:1 expansions. 50% torque with combined cycle is 75%. At 120 MPH it is 75%.
      75/25 = 3 x better fuel use.
The drag is 3.2 vs a Cirrus at 4.3 or a Cessna 206 at 7.1 sq ft.
      7.1/3.2 x 3 = 6.66 x better MPG.
With distributed power, the motors can be turned off to slow down without a rise in BSFC.
Correct, 120 MPH is slow. 240 mph is typical, and 300 mph is for 2400 miles across country or to Hawaii. 360 MPH is max speed and 60% is the efficiency of engine, not 75% due to max power.
No EV can compete against this tech. It will also be around 100 times less CO2 in life cycle compared to an EV when RE fuels are used.
There is NO point to EV tech when this new combustion tech comes out. Friendly hint. All EV companies will be bankrupt due simply to costs and high CO2.
