I completly homebrewed this campain and my players are now here, my canpain starts in berdusk before the fall, so when they reached here they are level 7 I made thalamra fave a armor of imps, the armor makes everytime she is hit they instead hit an imp hiding in the dungeon and get hellish rebuked, so the more imps they kill the weaker she is, and i rod her as a monk punching 3 eldrich blasts a turn
My players learned of the secret dungeon entrance from the stable from mortlock before he fled town. I was going to put the puzzle box with thavius in case my players didnt go upstairs. Is that a good idea? Or should I make them go see the oldest vanthampur boy upstairs?
@@philwalsworth4085 As long as they have the opportunity to get the cube, that is what matters. If your players don't get the cube here, there could be other chances. For example, if you want them to meet Thurstwell he could betray his family due to the curiosity of the cube. He could seek them out. OR you could have Thavius claim he doesn't have the cube and sell out Thurstwell while making his escape. Hell, they might not even need the contract if Thavius spills the Beans. They would just need to find someone at Candlekeep to send them to Avernus on that basis. Good luck!
I had the barbed devil call upon the dark magic of hell to give the cultists a second life once they die. They become zombified with more hp and their claw/bite attack will do poison dmg. It made the fight a lot more formidable.
@@TabletopBob I had to increase the difficulty because the party planted a magic bean outside of the Villa to cause a distraction, but a Bulette was spawned, one player died during the fight, but they killed it, so I felt bad and gave the survivors a level. Thalmara also came back from the dead. Low HP, but much higher AC as Zariel protected her with solidified ichor as armor.
@@TabletopBob We’re picking up right after they killed Thalmara, this weekend. I was disappointed to read that Thalmara is nowhere in Avernus so I will definitely be adding her
Just one major criticism: you didn't mention anything about Reya, or her relation to Thavius, or that she won't let the party hurt him. Otherwise, there were some good reminders in here, so thank you!

yeah..I had 2 dragonborne and a goblin in the group...kinda hard to disguise as a humanoid cultist...ha. harder encounters for my group
