I saw your video and had the same sentiments about the sound of my Tourer. So, after much pondering and reading thru the posts on the Tourer forum, I did the mod you did. WOW what a difference! Mine sounded just like yours with no popping.I was lucky that all of my allen bolts came right out without a hitch (even found that one was missing). Thanks for posting your video, it saved me the $600+ of the V&H and I like the sound just as much. And no carb jetting to boot (I have the stock air box)!

Liked the sound of the Vance and hines straight shots but front head pipe cracked 3 different times had it welded got tired of the problems so bought stock exhaust off ebay and I love the soft sound I now have you have a very nice looking motorcycle

I have an 1998 Honda shadow ace tourer and was thinking about modifying my exhaust. By doing the cutting on the exhaust. Does it sound a whole lot louder

I don't think it did much for the performance, since the bike feels exactly the same. I did no work on the carb at all and there is very little popping in decel. There is a little bit, but I can barely hear it.

hello friend hope you can help me, so had a problem with your deep shadow tour, for having removed the resonators? increased gasoline consumption, power loss or valves were burned?

Did this improve performance of the bike and did you have to change the jets or was there any work on the carburetor needed? Thanks

Hoo my God..! You ruined the sound of your motorcycle.. I was exited to hear the sound after you cut the pipes, But Im so disappointed to hear this mod all it does is ruin the original sound ... But thanks for sharing, because if it wasn't for you, I was about to do the same thing. You stopped me to make a mistake... I don't really understand why the sound got ruined...

Sounds like junk, you shoul hav sold your pipes to someone who did exactly what you did. Vance and Hines makes a great set for the shadow.

Horrible ideal never do this to your bike. !!! You lose low-end torque your bike will be slower. !!!! It needs that back pressure. !!! It's harder on your clutch. It makes the engine run hotter and burn valves and wear your piston rings quicker. You'll lose about 4 miles to the gallon of gas. ??? A inch and a half 2 to inch is as big as you can go and you must use several jet kits to tune it in properly.

There is zero difference on your clutch by changing your exhaust. Not going to burn valves or wear piston rings any quicker. Ring wear has nothing to do with the exhaust. And, there is more baffling farther up in the exhaust, so its not really making much of a difference anyway. Also, several jet kits? wtf. Do you know what a jet kit is? You can't use more than one jet kit at a time. And, back pressure is a myth. Hence why every performance motor has as free a flowing exhaust as possible.

As long as you re- jet carbs doesn't matter
