I guess cause even they were wanting it to be like the original story the author had made in the manga, it was probably deemed too violent for kids to see cause in the manga there was blood coming out of Kakyuu cause the spear went through her chest then here the spear just stab her but didn’t go through all the way. Like the manga was really graphic lol, do you remember episode 15(act 15) from the second season where Koan arrives on Earth(in the 21st Century) with the minions from the Black Moon and she kills a man she sees, in the manga she kills a little girl like DAMN LOL. 😬
I actually prefer this. Kakyuu's death in the manga already traumatized me when I was a kid. At least here they sugar coated it with beautiful colors to prevent more trauma 😅

Seen Sailor Moon friends as well Galaxia and her minions getting their bodies disintegrated is watching the ending of The Avengers Infinity and the final battle in Endgame which both Cosmos and Avengers films did great.
Original series has a very high body count, and I think Sailor Stars (its equivalent to Cosmos) temporarily killed the Sailor Guardians as well (though not the cats), and in Season 1, Nephrite gets impaled in bloody fashion and dies, after his redemption no less. This made Ursula's death look very tame. Demande also reforms and is impaled but it's less graphic than Nephrite. Of course, the deaths are far more graphic in the manga, nearly every death we can see their skull as they disintegrate. Crystal toned them down to be less graphic than some of the MLP deaths (yes you read right), despite being rated 14A. Not that I'm complaining if it's a pretty disintegration for a villain, but of course half of them in Cosmos are the heroes (even though they get revived later, including the cats from what I hear).
What's so dark about it is Chibi Chibi could stopped all of these. She could even destroyed Galaxia when they met at the garden. For her, she's probably just a "monster of the week" since her real enemy is Sailor Chaos. But no, she had to let them die one by one, even reanimated to torture Usagi, not to mention let Usagi watched her own child vanished in front of her eyes. Without all of these suffferings, Sailor Moon won't be decent enough for Lambda Power and become the embodiment of Cosmos
Galaxia is a lot more powerful than all inners and outers combined, she doesn't like to waste time on people she doesn't consider worth anything. The only reason she entertained Pluto and Saturn was to provoke Usagi.
I love how this certain show, where both enemies and mc's are giving each other a proper transformation and all those skill chanting and dancing around, but they sure do pack a punch on main characters and they actually die.. the logic of this anime is understandable and confusing..

She was one of the strongest of galaxias minions known for collecting vast amounts of star seeds. Just think of sailor Saturn getting one shot knowing you have the power of destruction and rebirth.
Saturn got one shotted by Galaxia, which is different she is way stronger. In the Manga it's Usagi who accidentally kills Jupiter and Mercury while Aluminum Siren uses them as a meat shield to protect herself from SM's attack
Not to be ungrateful but I preferred the 90s one. First of all the inner senshi had barely any screen time especially Rei. They were send off really easily almost with no fight. And most importantly… Neptune’s and Uranus’ “trick” and death in the 90s… Sooooo dramatic and tearful.
Don't expect much from this Sailormoon. All the soldiers are only strong in the season they first appear. The all become useless afterwards. All of them.

The first part in general felt SO RUSHED to me, like, we didnt even got the outers transformation sequences, and the inner transformation sequences were put together as one to spare time, Mina didn't even got the chance to use her Venus Love And Beauty Shock, they tried putting way too much stuff in just 1 hour and 20 minutes. I think if they had more time they could have added more screentime in this adaptation, like they did in the second part. The anime definitely made the inners and outers more justice, I agree on that. However I also like this version, but they just felt so rushed that it was hard to actually care and process the fact that they were killed, second movie I think it was great tho specially how they changed the starlights death, the second movie was a great adaptation in my eyes, and the first movie would be a good one too if it wasn't rushed as it was, that's a shame.
The Stars arc/Cosmos movie is so much darker than the 90s anime. I mean, they didn't let the Three Lights/Sailor Starlights get proper good byes after Sailor Moon saved the galaxy.

Anime is, by nature, not kid-friendly unless dubs make it so, and short of Pokemon, Digimon (to an extent), and Glitter Force, dubs do not lower the rating nowadays. Despite this, aside from the flashback deaths of Serenity and Endymion, I've seen MLP deaths more graphic than any of the present day ones. (Namely King Sombra (the second time), the Storm King, and the Mean 6)

Despite the animation quality got much better, this feels so rushed and generic, the villains don't have a personality, nor a development anymore. For example, in the classic, I remember Aluminium Siren looked goofy and clueless most of the time, but she became a serious threat afterwards, acting more directly and even taking a whole plane as hostages. Her partner was annoyed by her, but became desperate to the point of risking her life by summoning a black void... only for her "rival" to sabotage her. Nevertheless, this is a great compilation 🙂
I agree. They could have added 2-3 seconds more and actually made it appearing horrifying or just straight up more dramatic and dark… but no, all bubble gum sugar sweet!
Man, when you remember the anime and all those healings and some enemies even turning a new leaf...Then you read the manga or watch the Sailor Moon Crystal/Cosmos adaptations and realize that "Honeymoon Therapy Kiss" is just an eufemism for a killer attack.
So this scenes will be the synopsis of the movie where everyone of them died in a Thanos-like snap (I just remember one TV series where all of the characters died and no one left; check out "What Happened in Bali"). This would be the very saddest final chapter that fits to the Anime's (also manga?) ending.

It was kinda fun to see Sailor Moon villains turn to dust for the first time for the last time, especially since my interest came from Motw's in original series Season 1 turning to dust. I've seen Sailor Moon Cosmos two parts films today on Netflix and while that I do like the up to date designs characters like the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon, Princess Kakyuu and the Shadow Galactica but I still don't like the ending of the second part film in fact I still prefer from the from the 90's Anime. I mean we never got to see the Sailor Starlights and Princess Kakyuu revive just like Sailor Moon and her friends at the end of the film plus it was never revealed if Artemis and Diana were revived just like Luna. I know the Japanese writer have worked so hard since this is the final Sailor Moon Crystal Series but they really haven't think things throught at all, I'm very sorry but this is my own honest opinion but I still prefer Sailor Moon Eternal two part films over Sailor Moon Cosmos two part films because at least there aren't too many characters killed un like this one.

The deaths were kind of lame. I really also dont like that Lead Crow lost her beautiful dark skin tone. They whitewashed her. Kakyuu's death was cooler in the manga. Heavy Metal's scream was chilling though.
I agree & I hate that because I LOVE how dark the deaths are in the manga!!! Dude I made the manga into mini movies with dope effects, music and voice acting. You should DEF check out how I did the (MELTING!!) death of Sailor Iron Mouse in the 2nd movie I made, it’s SICK and honestly how I wish they would have kept the deaths!

The sailor senshi of the Earth shouldn’t turn to be the Galactica members because they didn’t sell their souls to Galaxia moreover they died before say anything.
The sad version of the sailor star opening is a good touch✨

The deaths were kind of lame.
I really also dont like that Lead Crow lost her beautiful dark skin tone. They whitewashed her. Kakyuu's death was cooler in the manga. Heavy Metal's scream was chilling though.

Dude I made the manga into mini movies with dope effects, music and voice acting. You should DEF check out how I did the (MELTING!!) death of Sailor Iron Mouse in the 2nd movie I made, it’s SICK and honestly how I wish they would have kept the deaths!

@lbbmood actually, they have a point, Mamoru’s body is destroyed in the very first few minutes of the movie! Only at the very end does his body “revive” for a few minutes before being pushed into the cauldron. Interesting!

This is the fucking version with the stupid and nonsense plot. The sailor senshi of the Earth shouldn’t turn to be the Galactica members because they didn’t sell their souls to Galaxia moreover they died before say anything.
They didn't join her willingly, she just could revive them and turn them evil. It works different than in the 90s anime and imo it does make sense.
