I wonder if driving through death valley right at sundown/close to nightfall would be the better option since deserts are known to get cold as hell at night? Granted not a lot of shots for the beauties but, just to make sure everyone doesn't blow out their radiators or cooling mechanics.
It is but you have to dodge jackrabbits and goodness who knows what else driving through there. They all come out a lot more at night.

Death Valley where it can be 125 degrees in the daytime and 20 degrees at night!! you can also go from below zero sea level to 5.000 feet above sea level in 1 mile.
On an empty open road the only live you will endanger is your self. Glad they use a back road.

i grew up near the area.....The "mystery" is caused by rain storms. The clay gets slippery when wet (not the BonJovi albumn) and the high winds actually push the rocks around.
Jimbo had that high-pitched - courteous voice when talking to the LEO cos he remembered he had the remnants of an 8 ball in his pocket.

Seeing that Arco gas station in Beatty and the Alien brothel in Amargosa Valley brought out some definite FOMO for me. I've made that drive every year since 2013 in August from Dallas to Gerlach, NV and back. Always in a big RV or a 26 foot truck, but never a car. It didn't happen this year and it may not happen in 2021 either with my group, so thinking I may make the drive out there solo. Thank you for this amazing episode.

I drove a 2010 Mercedes E350 4MATIC across the desert SW this Summer 2024 in 110-118° heat the whole way with zero problem and I was booking it. Dunno how negligently you have to treat your exotic car to make it overheat or run out of fuel like that.
Drove through death valley at night 115-119° my metal water jug was hot as balls windows down and still hot. My Lexus rc 350 made it like a champ
