    Back when pool players had style. Don't get me wrong, I know the game has changed drastically over the years, but these old matches are golden.

      I agree. Nothing is the same anymore. It’s all watered down.

    Such a great match. Even the commentators were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Thank you very much Pat.

    Nice! Before now, i knew of Larry "Boston Shorty" Johnson only by name mention, so it was good to see him play, at last. It was even better to see him play with another player of his kind: one who doesn't do a lot of angling and measuring (as if _every_ shot were new to him), but gets the job done just as effectively as the ones who do.
    And, i must say:
    This is EASILY the best coverage of any billiard match with a mobile camera that i've seen. It's clear that _someone_ involved in this telecast knew a thing or two about how pocket billiards is played (and watched!). Kudos to Rick Bouley and the Flemmings.

    Great to watch ! Players from "back in the day" seem to have a certain ambiance around the table ! AND NOW, I´d like to put forward my earlier demand for a CLASSIC GAME, between CJ Riley and Mizerak at Sands -93, semi-final I think. The first appearance for CJ, and he shot like 975 !! PLEASE PLEASE ME. I´ve been waiting for this TWO YEARS now.

      It is available on DVD for only $9.95 with free shipping. But, if you can wait, we will start digitizing the old VHS tapes from that era in a month or so. Thanks for your interest.

    I had the pleasure of playing some one hole with George Rood quite a few years ago when he was 88 years old. 8 and out... 8 and out... 8 and out... Those guys were a special breed and their level of competition is unmatched.

    So fun watching these older matches. Unfortunately today these younger players all think safety before actually trying to make a hard shot

    me and my buddy greg play almost as fast as lou--we love playing each other but we hate shooting slow players--we beat them, but its so nauseating waiting for the other player when he takes 5 minutes every other shot---i say just shoot already........

    • @uriahotten3895
      @uriahotten3895 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5 minutes between EACH shot?? Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. Maybe you should work on your patience? You noticed Lou missing a pretty easy 9 ball because he shot so fast didn't you?
