- Sigh... I've put this off for too long. Once you get to floor 120 of the mines, you get the Skull Key. This unlocks the Skeleton Cavern, but more importantly, it unlocks the second minigame in the arcade, Junimo Kart! I'll be taking you through the game while giving pointers and showing you the rewards for winning!

i didn't realize that junimo cart had changed. i might've actually played the first version back in 2016, where i immediately decided "no thanks, never touching this again"
I honestly never got to play the old one, I never knew it existed until after the update!

God indirectly created hell when he cast all those fallen angels/deemons down there. They had no hand in creating those fucking mushrooms, however...
i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this minigame is god awfully hard.
This game isn't just hard. It's intrinsically unfair. The majority of my deaths in this minigame were simply completely unavoidable RNG. There is literal gambling in Stardew Valley, and that is far more predictable and deterministic than a _one button autoscroller,_ which is absolutely insane. CA nerfed the bubbles and the mushrooms in 1.6, which helps, but I don't think there's anything he can do to make this game not unfair without completely reworking and meticulously fine-tuning the procedural generation.
I feel like jumino kart would be way better if it wasn't so rng based, the game can really do you over, endless mode would be okay with the random generation though
Extra bonus: once you've heard these songs, you should be able to play them on a jukebox

Completely agree. I don't think I put the game down until I beat it, which took 2 weeks. After I had beat it I felt like something had left me, like I was no longer whole lol 💀

When i played this i just said

I drove myself insane trying to complete Mr. Qi's 50k Junimo Kart Endless.
Didn't help that the controls on my end were a bit delayed, so I had to pray that the game even read my inputs. Did it in the end, but at what cost.
Found completing the two Prairie King achievements much easier.
Correction (I believe).
When you said there was no limit to the amount of lives you can have, I believe the cap is 10. You have to be really good to actually get that many, but I think I can remember myself getting to 10 and being limited from any more. I will update this with a confirmation if I remember by the time I next play.
Edit: Upon further attempts, I have not been able to confirm nor deny this, especially because my best attempt got mushroom grotto.
I have managed to get to 11 lives when going for a deathless run, so unless it changed there shouldn't be a hard limit (beyond how many coins and fruit there are in the entire game)

I think this video officially convinced me to start up a new farm and binge your series! I haven't played seriously since around when the game launched.
It's super clear that you've put a ton of effort into this series and you have mad respect from me for it.
It's one of my favorite games of all time, so it definitely deserves all of the effort I can give!
This is my favorite of the arcade minigames. I actually find Prairie King to be more difficult

I have no idea how people can say this. Prairie King was so easy. Junimo Kart is like 20x worse. It's literally the only game I can think of that I played which I've never been able to beat (across 20-25 years of playing video games).
Why did he think having enemies with random patterns on a platformer with a set speed would be a good idea..
This is like the one game I can think of that I've ever played across 25 years that I actually had to give up trying to beat because I couldn't finish it due to being too difficult.
Like I didn't S-rank every level on Cuphead, but I don't consider that necessary to beat the game, since I'm not talking 100% completion (I got maybe 2/3 of them S-rank)
my brother actually completed cuphead %200 i thought it would be a good idea to hand it over to him to get 50k points in endless mode and he couldnt even pass through level 1 of junimo kart. this game is insanely hard

I am forever grateful that I never have to play Junimo Kart if I don't want to. The day that it becomes necessary for perfection is the day that I pass away. My anger issues could never.
I managed to beat it on version 1.1, when they dropped the number of extra lives from 5 to 3. It took me four hours of practice before I was able to accomplish it. This new version, however, just seems too hard for me to get through it. I've tried both bosses, and I failed against both of them.
After a long day, I’m finally sitting in my kitchen table eating pepperoni pizza and a pomegranate while watching you. I’m currently a bit stressed because of all of the exams that I have soon and the only thing that takes my mind off it for at least a few mins is you. Thank you : )

lol Im not surprised about the music being an absolute banger, Ive never gotten past the 1st stage but the menu music is such a vibe, Ive got it playing in my farmhouse 24/7 🙃
Man I was so excited to find the key for the mystery arcade when I first played but that was back in the old Junimo kart. I played fours seconds and turned it off and went back to my farm.
It took me 3 days and a lot of rage to beat both the high score and the progression mode, and I never even knew that stage ??? existed.
2 years late, but the barriers are destroyed anytime you are in the air. Basically, you can tiny jump into the barrier and you will be fine. This is insanely useful in the later levels with barriers.

this is wrong. I can personally attest through my many hours trying to beat Qi's 50k endlessmode pts challenge that the order is gemstone giant(stage 3), then ghastly gallion(stage 4). no idea what comes next but if i ever make it that far I'll let you know...
This version seems SO much easier than the first version.
I did beat Junimo Kart today without seeing this video and I wanted to get a achievement and realized that is no achievement
My theory re: the impossible fruit in Stomp's Slomp is that it's still being generated like it's the Gem Sea one - except in slomp there are no bubbles to bounce off of.
In my opinion its more worth it to master slippery slopes and avoid boss stages all together, I am partial to this strategy because I played online with my girlfriend so my time in each stage was very limited! But after mastering slippery slopes Its become my favorite level to breeze past!
I must've been getting insane luck though, because I always thought you could choose which stage you went to on the track split by pushing wasd or arrow keys in the direction of the one you wanted.
Man, the snake charmer is really popping off in slomp's stomp
this game acts like one of those optical illusions where you look at it for a while and you look away and your vision is all distorted, whenever I look away, whatever I look at is swaying
Oh I really wish some of the exclusive music would play in the mines! It's really good and would help mix things up from the usual tracks.

I hate the Gem Sea Giant level with a passion, but still... amid the rage and hating that big stupid whale, the music is so soothing and amazing that I can't hate the level, not completely. Dammit Eric!

I loved the old Junimo Kart. It was so pleasant to play it every in game friday after I talked with NPCs and attempted to do a 2 win Prairie King. For me the Saloon music was the music for Junimo Kart. And I'm pretty sure I've beaten it (maybe even more than once, considering I was doing that every friday till I stopped playing, which would be like 30-40 attempts). And honestly, I think I prefer the old one (despite it being able to spawn unfair/impossible jumps). I don't like so many new mechanics about the revamped version (starting with being unable to listen to whatever music there was in overworld).
But at least I'm glad more people like it now. Hmm, I wonder if there is an old version of the game (or maybe a mod) that could work that still had old Junimo Kart. I doubt it, since it's Steam and consoles and barely anyone liked the old version, but still.
I hate both games. Why he made the stages random is beyond me. I never get past the start. Even with 1.6. 😢
So cool that in 1.6 Concerned Ape added some grace period to the edge jumping, so Junimo Kart is not such a nightmare now.
I can't understate how much easier the whale stage is too now. Like how many bubbles it blows in this video? it's like a third of that now, it's actually fun!

Stupid game idea: GEOMETRY CART. Every jump and coin is lined up with the song, and if you complete it, you get a portable Junimo Cart box that also plays the exclusive music.
I die at first stage. But seeing your video made me realise one thing.... IT FRICKING TRIGGERS MY MOTION SICKENS. Ugh. One more mayor reason to not attempt it, so thank you for completing it for me!
This comment might be outdated but you can choose which boss fight in stage 3, if you hold W key or up on the left stick on controller you can choose which direction to go

I personally find sunset speedway stupid hard, I once reached it with 8 lives and still lost because I got smacked in the face with god awful rng and not a single checkpoint even halfway through the level

when i was grinding out junimo kart i always prefered the mushroom stage to red hot roller coaster, red hot roller coaster was the bane of my existence

i was hoping this video would help me beat the whale level in endless mode,, oh well. junimo kart is ALMOST really good, but when you get a bubble pattern that's literally impossible to get past without dying, it stops feeling fair lol
wild. i had a harder time with vectors challenge
i went so hard on this game when i got the quest from Mr Qi to reach 50k points in endless. It was intense but I eventually did it. Luckily playing the game stops time in the game so I had plenty of practice time in game to finish before the weekend deadline.
I started playing Stardew when Junimo Cart was already on it's current version, I tried... I really tried to beat it in my first Stardew run, but I ultimately stopped playing because of the mushroom level, the farting mushrooms hit me a lot of times with impossible setups that made me lose up to 6 lives on a single obstacle.
I kinda miss the old junimo kart. Or rather, I miss how you moved in that one. The current version feels a lot more "floaty" and I have a hard time timing and landing jumps because I can't gauge how big my jumps should be. A lot of it is muscle memory on my part for sure, but it does feel silly that I have the Junimo Kart arcade machine in my home on my main save and yet, can count myself lucky if I manage to make it to the second level.
concerned ape should have an achievement named IMPOSSIBLE, where you have to beat junimo kart without dying ONCE.

I'm weak at the last part (sun ...) and the mushroom part. I couldn't beat them yet but if I was able to play more it was possible.
maybe i am a noob, but dam does it feels really inconsistence each time i click my character either falls fast or float and goes down slowly

I have tried at junimokart near 20 times now and I got gem sea level the first few times, stomp’s stomp once, then gem sea giant the next sixteen times. I still have only gotten slomp’s stomp once.
Once I made it to sunset speedway- but I had never reached that before and quickly died on an easy jump.

I hate junimo cart cuz its so addicting, ive been resetting one day over and over to try and beat it
I can pretty consistently get past the ghosts now (great for me who could barely start the 1st level the first 30 times of playing),
and sometimes past the lava one, i beat the mushrooms once it sucks, and i havent beat the last one
8 months later and I can consistently beat it in one go
Took me almost 9 hours to get the 50,000 points Mr Qi quest

The second non-secret split is basically: if god approves of you, he sends you to the hell zone.
I think it was made easier in 1.6, the gem sea giant only sends 5-6 slow moving bubbles now.
The whale had pissed me off so much, I never expected to rage so hard in such a peaceful game.

For some reason, I've always found red hot Roller coaster stupidly easy. The rocks arent as problematic as in crumble cavern, and you get so manty coins dying doesn't matter as much. The trick is to use almost exlusively small jjumps, as all the jumps are far shorter than they look.
The only problem with the rocks is sometimes it causes you to clip through the track as seen in the video. I lost a few runs that way. Still easier than the cursed mushroom stage though.
I only played junimo kart once for one of the Qi challenges and you have to beat the whale on endless that was so hard. I think the real challenge was get 30,000 in junimo kart and the closest I got was like 26,000 or so
I'd like to say im an expert on old Junimo cart, i played a whole 7 minutes back in the day, thats more than most.
I haven't even tried this yet. Now I'm never going to!
I played stardew back when it first came out and I played the old version. Also Idky but I'd always get darker levels on lv2

I think progress mode should have passwords like whenever you reach a level you get a password that you can enter to start from that point

So i have no room to speak cause ive never completed junimo kart, but red hot rollercoaster looks so much worse with all those little mini rails to try to land on 😅😅😅
it’s not, the rng on mushrooms is incredibly awful sometimes and the moving platforms are unpredictable.

RNG is the reason this is so hard. I once made it to the final or the second before final only to met a falling rock right in the middle of my jump.
I could not jump higher or lower because i wouldnt make it to the platform and so i could just jump right into that boulder until game over.

When it's just one red mushroom, ok, gotta think a bit about it
