Completely agree. I don't think I put the game down until I beat it, which took 2 weeks. After I had beat it I felt like something had left me, like I was no longer whole lol 💀
This game isn't just hard. It's intrinsically unfair. The majority of my deaths in this minigame were simply completely unavoidable RNG. There is literal gambling in Stardew Valley, and that is far more predictable and deterministic than a _one button autoscroller,_ which is absolutely insane. CA nerfed the bubbles and the mushrooms in 1.6, which helps, but I don't think there's anything he can do to make this game not unfair without completely reworking and meticulously fine-tuning the procedural generation.
Yeah it's just bad. I've had I possible scenarios in ghostly galleon like doing a max distance jump and then having a ghost in the landing spot, which isn't avoidable because you can't control where you land when you need to do a max distance jump
I think this video officially convinced me to start up a new farm and binge your series! I haven't played seriously since around when the game launched. It's super clear that you've put a ton of effort into this series and you have mad respect from me for it.
I drove myself insane trying to complete Mr. Qi's 50k Junimo Kart Endless. Didn't help that the controls on my end were a bit delayed, so I had to pray that the game even read my inputs. Did it in the end, but at what cost. Found completing the two Prairie King achievements much easier.

Yep this is where I am right now. Most I’ve gotten to is like 42,000 points. But I’m pulling out my hair in frustration lol. It’s so RNG based. Sometimes levels are a breeze and sometimes they are extremely hard. I’ve only been at it a few hours though, so I’m sure I’ll get it eventually. But like you said, at what cost.
I have no idea how people can say this. Prairie King was so easy. Junimo Kart is like 20x worse. It's literally the only game I can think of that I played which I've never been able to beat (across 20-25 years of playing video games).

Correction (I believe). When you said there was no limit to the amount of lives you can have, I believe the cap is 10. You have to be really good to actually get that many, but I think I can remember myself getting to 10 and being limited from any more. I will update this with a confirmation if I remember by the time I next play. Edit: Upon further attempts, I have not been able to confirm nor deny this, especially because my best attempt got mushroom grotto.
I have managed to get to 11 lives when going for a deathless run, so unless it changed there shouldn't be a hard limit (beyond how many coins and fruit there are in the entire game)

This is like the one game I can think of that I've ever played across 25 years that I actually had to give up trying to beat because I couldn't finish it due to being too difficult. Like I didn't S-rank every level on Cuphead, but I don't consider that necessary to beat the game, since I'm not talking 100% completion (I got maybe 2/3 of them S-rank)
my brother actually completed cuphead %200 i thought it would be a good idea to hand it over to him to get 50k points in endless mode and he couldnt even pass through level 1 of junimo kart. this game is insanely hard
I managed to beat it on version 1.1, when they dropped the number of extra lives from 5 to 3. It took me four hours of practice before I was able to accomplish it. This new version, however, just seems too hard for me to get through it. I've tried both bosses, and I failed against both of them.
Man I was so excited to find the key for the mystery arcade when I first played but that was back in the old Junimo kart. I played fours seconds and turned it off and went back to my farm.

I can personally attest through my many hours trying to beat Qi's 50k endlessmode pts challenge that the order is gemstone giant(stage 3), then ghastly gallion(stage 4). no idea what comes next but if i ever make it that far I'll let you know...
2 years late, but the barriers are destroyed anytime you are in the air. Basically, you can tiny jump into the barrier and you will be fine. This is insanely useful in the later levels with barriers.
My theory re: the impossible fruit in Stomp's Slomp is that it's still being generated like it's the Gem Sea one - except in slomp there are no bubbles to bounce off of.

I must've been getting insane luck though, because I always thought you could choose which stage you went to on the track split by pushing wasd or arrow keys in the direction of the one you wanted.
In my opinion its more worth it to master slippery slopes and avoid boss stages all together, I am partial to this strategy because I played online with my girlfriend so my time in each stage was very limited! But after mastering slippery slopes Its become my favorite level to breeze past!
I hate the Gem Sea Giant level with a passion, but still... amid the rage and hating that big stupid whale, the music is so soothing and amazing that I can't hate the level, not completely. Dammit Eric!
For some reason, I've always found red hot Roller coaster stupidly easy. The rocks arent as problematic as in crumble cavern, and you get so manty coins dying doesn't matter as much. The trick is to use almost exlusively small jjumps, as all the jumps are far shorter than they look.
The only problem with the rocks is sometimes it causes you to clip through the track as seen in the video. I lost a few runs that way. Still easier than the cursed mushroom stage though.
Stupid game idea: GEOMETRY CART. Every jump and coin is lined up with the song, and if you complete it, you get a portable Junimo Cart box that also plays the exclusive music.
Got a mission to get 50,000 point in the endless mode, I’ve made it to about 17,000, the icy section just destroys me lol! Thanks for the strategy guide!
Awesome! After playing the first version of Junimo Kart once I never touched it again x3 I didn't know it got reworked so when update 1.6 releases I'm going to try it again for sure ^-^
I loved the old Junimo Kart. It was so pleasant to play it every in game friday after I talked with NPCs and attempted to do a 2 win Prairie King. For me the Saloon music was the music for Junimo Kart. And I'm pretty sure I've beaten it (maybe even more than once, considering I was doing that every friday till I stopped playing, which would be like 30-40 attempts). And honestly, I think I prefer the old one (despite it being able to spawn unfair/impossible jumps). I don't like so many new mechanics about the revamped version (starting with being unable to listen to whatever music there was in overworld). But at least I'm glad more people like it now. Hmm, I wonder if there is an old version of the game (or maybe a mod) that could work that still had old Junimo Kart. I doubt it, since it's Steam and consoles and barely anyone liked the old version, but still.

I started playing Stardew when Junimo Cart was already on it's current version, I tried... I really tried to beat it in my first Stardew run, but I ultimately stopped playing because of the mushroom level, the farting mushrooms hit me a lot of times with impossible setups that made me lose up to 6 lives on a single obstacle.
i went so hard on this game when i got the quest from Mr Qi to reach 50k points in endless. It was intense but I eventually did it. Luckily playing the game stops time in the game so I had plenty of practice time in game to finish before the weekend deadline.
I have tried at junimokart near 20 times now and I got gem sea level the first few times, stomp’s stomp once, then gem sea giant the next sixteen times. I still have only gotten slomp’s stomp once.
I hate junimo cart cuz its so addicting, ive been resetting one day over and over to try and beat it I can pretty consistently get past the ghosts now (great for me who could barely start the 1st level the first 30 times of playing), and sometimes past the lava one, i beat the mushrooms once it sucks, and i havent beat the last one
It's so funny how I'm probably one of the only few who thinks Junimo Kart is significantly easier than Prairie King, so ig I relate to you Salmence but instead of spending months trying to beat Junimo Kart, it was Prairie King for me
RNG is the reason this is so hard. I once made it to the final or the second before final only to met a falling rock right in the middle of my jump. I could not jump higher or lower because i wouldnt make it to the platform and so i could just jump right into that boulder until game over.
I really shouldve checked the reward before wasting almost an hour on it. You beat it only to get it for your house so you can torture yourself at home

it’s not, the rng on mushrooms is incredibly awful sometimes and the moving platforms are unpredictable.

It's so funny how I'm probably one of the only few who thinks Junimo Kart is significantly easier than Prairie King, so ig I relate to you Salmence but instead of spending months trying to beat Junimo Kart, it was Prairie King for me

RNG is the reason this is so hard. I once made it to the final or the second before final only to met a falling rock right in the middle of my jump.
I could not jump higher or lower because i wouldnt make it to the platform and so i could just jump right into that boulder until game over.
I really shouldve checked the reward before wasting almost an hour on it. You beat it only to get it for your house so you can torture yourself at home
I think it was made easier in 1.6, the gem sea giant only sends 5-6 slow moving bubbles now.
i've never seen this version of junimo kart but i stand by my opinion that the cowboy game is much harder😂
